    This snow is coming down a lot faster than I expected it. Not looking forward to shoveling it when it's 5 degrees out tomorrow.

    The plow hasn't hit my side of the street, so I'm still stuck in my driveway. I figure trying to drive my car through 14" of snow isn't that good of an idea.

    The details of his contract are astounding. He has a $9M signing bonus, which he'll get $3M of on New Year's Eve, and his bi-monthly paycheck (which he gets all year, not just during the season like most players) is $583,333. link

    They made chocolate covered bacon on Food Network's Dinner Impossible awhile back. The Coney Island episode. I made a bacon showcase dinner this year featuring a spinach salad with hot bacon dressing, sweet potato bacon biscuits, and bacon-wrapped pesto stuffed chicken breast. Since then, I've found a recipe for bacon cookies.

    The lightning and thunder while shoveling (i'm sure I"ll spend all day shoveling) was crazy! UWM has cancelled all final exams today - they'll be held tomorrow. Offices are still open but I'm not going in. My neighborhood actually smells like burning rubber from all the cars spinning their tires.

    Yeah, UWM put out the warning of what would happen if finals were cancelled on Friday.....doesn't matter to me, since when classes are cancelled all offices are still open, generally.

    I've been using Open Office on my macbook. It used to be kind of annoying, but it looks like the newest version fixed most of the bugs. It's a free program, and you can save files as .doc or pdf

    If you have sun issues and want to sit in the shade, you'll definitely want to get them in advance. Those tickets are hard to get at the window. I bought all my "away" game tickets in advance and was glad I did. The SF game in Scottsdale was sold out and people were scalping lawn seats outside. Two years ago the Angels game at Tempe Diablo was sold out as well. Weekend games tend to sell out a lot faster.

    Tristar, you must have been in there when I was in line to check out. I saw that hat, sgt....I was a little perplexed. I was disappointed that there weren't any women's fitted hats in my size, or toddlers size clothing. I did get a 3-pack of onesies for $5...those will come in handy for my friend who's expecting. I might go back tomorrow just to check it out and see if they restock with better stuff. I will say, the selection of women's clothing was much better than last year. Unfortunately, it appeared to be geared toward the teeny bopper demographic.

    It's been snowing, but as adamb100 said, it's not sticking in Milwaukee. Looks like it won't be cold enough for it to stick until later in the night.

    I know this thread is really old....but I just came across the date for next year's 5K - July 25, 2009. I'm woefully out of shape, so perhaps it could be a goal for me to actually run it...
