  1. Milwaukee: Holiday House, Sanford, and Bacchus are three extremely good restaurants If you are looking a little less expensive than the Pasta Tree and Coquette Cafe are also 2 of my favorites. I used to do dining reviews on a semi-regular basis so i've definitely had my share of good and bad food in the area http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. This is just brutal for the Pirates. In the midst of a losing streak and then this happens. Hopefully MLB will fight for the legitimacy of the contract. Boras is a clown for trying to pull this.
  3. My 1st thought is that Hardy is 3rd in the NL in OPS among shortstops, so WHY does everyone want him out of there so badly? As for Hart, I have to believe he is in the Brewers long term plans. He has been solid in the outfield, has speed and power, and seems to fit in well with the team. I think sometimes we are a bit quick to assume that our prospects are going to come in and automatically do as good or better than the guys we currently have. This can be a dangerous assumption
  4. Mangia is a real good restaurant and it is in Kenosha. 5715 Sheridan Road Really good food and not very expensive
  5. Wow the Cubs are winning every way possible. 13-1 their last 14 road games. With how hot they are, there is no shame in the wild card this year. Its just too bad we couldn't have this record last year.
  6. this being the last game of the year between these 2, it wouldn't be surprising if someone gets thrown at or something. That being said, I'm surprised that nobody on our team got hit last night when we had put the game away.
  7. I think that if he won that award this website might self-destruct http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. Yeah I sometimes wonder if people even realize how good we have it in the fact that we can bring in food and unopened drinks to the game. The people that are complaining should buy a bag of peanuts and candy at the store and bring in a sandwich. Its really not tough to get around.
  9. lol buying a bloody mary doesn't make you a true brewer fan? I guess I've just wasted my time at the 350 or so games i've attended in my lifetime.
  10. Agreed. Do people not realize that we have the most well rested bullpen in the major leagues? I love the fact that Yost got Ben out of there while he still had a shutout going, a great way to boost his confidence.
  11. I'd love to put another beatdown on the Cards and bury their postseason hopes tonight
  12. With the professional at-bats and grittyness we have from the 7 hole tonight, we will be tough to beat It would be nice to get some runs early so we don't have to rely on another late game homer to win it. Anyone think that Braun might be getting one in the ribs tonight?
  13. FTJ- I definitely respect the way you are bringing out the parents and league's perspective in this. And I also agree that failure isn't always the best way to learn. However, I find more fault with the league administrator's than the coach. Maybe the coach was wrong for not abiding by the league's ruling, but the fact that adults decided to ban someone from pitching is mind-boggling to me. I wanted to know what your opinion is on the actual pitcher than? Its something he loves to do, and he has done nothing wrong. However, it is obvious that the spectacle of the opposing coach pulling his team off the field when he took the mound is having an effect on him. There is a quote in the original article where he says he feels sad becaues he thinks it is his fault that nobody got to play the game.
  14. I can't believe that the manager of the other team saw Jericho on the mound, and then refused to let his team play against him. I guess I also have to wonder whether this was an issue of genuine fear for the kids that had to face him, or instead more that the parents saw the children disappointed because they had no chance of success, and didn't like their kids facing iminent failure.
  15. I really hope they offer this in HD, but at least I'll be able to see the games at my house. Last year I went to Champps in Brookfield for all these games, they are going to lose a ton of money. For the Ohio State-UW Game, all the tables were reserved and they weren't allowing people in by 10:30 in the morning.
  16. just another disgrace in how we handle things in this country. It is now more important for our kids to all feel good about themselves then engage in fair competition. The parents on other teams, coaches, and league officials should be embarassed. Do they really think they are helping out their kids by basically telling them that if something is too challenging than they will remove that obstacle so the kids don't have to experience failure I may be a bit jaded, but it is unfathomable to me that they made this decision.
  17. I would like one of the Mets or Phillies to step up and bury the other so the Wild Card been be narrowed to a 2 team race.
  18. yes I can't stand F. Rodrigueze either. And as far as the Brewers are concerned, Geoff Blum really pisses me off
  19. I agree that it is time for Ben to earn his keep in a big time game. Wellemeyer has pitched well against us this year, so offense could be scarce. Hopefully the bottom of the order continues to play well.
  20. So you are saying that Harden > CC? Sorry I couldn't resist http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif If you needed 6 innings max, than yeah he probably is. But I'm very happy we got Sabathia, the only thing that makes me jealous is that the Cubs have a relatively miniscule $7 million option on Harden next year. But to me there is nothing like having a pitcher that could potentially go 8-9 innings every time he's on the mound
  21. That's cool that you provided an explanation for all the teams. As far as the Brewers go, I wouldn't quite go as far as saying it tould be a "terrible collapse" if St. Louis beat us out for the Wild Card, but it obviously is ours to win. I don't think we have the firepower to catch the Cubs, although I'd love to be the first one to compliment you on proving me wrong http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif It should be interesting in the other divisions, as nobody has been able to pull away from the pack yet.
  22. lol Harden against that team is probably the biggest mismatch in baseball this year
  23. would have been nice to get a philadelphia and st louis loss today...hopefully tomorrow they can help us out
  24. boy and you'd think if there was a guy he could put it in play against, it would have been wandy. somewhere TWR is smiling at the prospect of more counsell at 3rd
  25. wow that is a big hit. hopefully the pen can close this one out
