  1. Do you know the details on Lary Sorensen Sunday? Time/price/etc?
  2. I've had good luck with Thrifty's Wild Car. They assign you a car when you arrive, so you don't know what specific type of vehicle you'll be getting, but it's mid size or higher, and it's significantly cheaper. I used it a few times this summer and the worst car I got (IMO) was a PT Cruiser. chadomac, a lot of places have unlimited miles or a set number of miles included. Some will have odd restrictions about taking it out of state (although how would they really know?). Just be sure to ask and read the fine print.
  3. Braves. I have an irrational dislike of the four '90's expansion teams. Yes I realize that's ironic considering the history of the Brewers/Pilots. I can't support teal or purple.
  4. Got mine today, too. Exactly the same as brewdude's. Thanks jjkoestler for the heads up.
  5. If you don't mind, how do you get these made? Can you buy them from Getty Images or somewhere else? I can't imagine anything I'd find online would be good enough quality to blow up.

  7. I think Friday was Dave Bush and Sunday was Trevor Hoffman
  8. Looks like this guy on craigslist has one: http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/clt/1339491778.html
  9. Believe me I appreciate the block parties, on deck, auto Fridays, etc., and I appreciate that sending the Cameron cards was a nice gesture they didn't have to do. I, for one, sent a respectful email complimenting the block party staff on how they handled the Cameron situation. I doubt very many people bother to even complain.
  10. Do 20-pack holders get to go the the season ticket holder lunch that I believe just happened? Or is that only for full season? Did anyone go? Just wondering what that's like - seems like it might be a nice perk.
  11. Well I got my autographed Cameron 5x7 card in the mail today. I guess it's good that they followed through but even this is a letdown. That's what bugs me the most, I was a huge Cameron fan and this one incident knocks him way down for me. I had emailed the Brewers to say that the employees there did a good job under trying circumstances and got a nice reply from the person that runs the block parties. He sounded pretty exasperated by the whole situation. Oh well.
  12. Last month I saw Todd Coffey and his family walk into the Cheesecake Factory at Mayfair. He sat down and was playing with his iPhone so I said a quick hello. He shook my hand and thanked me for stopping by. Wednesday I saw Dave Bush at the airport. We were both retrieving our bags (different flights). He was really friendly. We shook hands and chatted for a bit. I told him I hope he'll be back soon. He said 'yes, soon'. He was with his young daughter, and I was with mine, and they were waving at each other which was funny. Should have set up a playdate :-)
  13. Out of curiosity I looked at these three games on fansnap right around 9:00 and again just a minute ago and there are a lot more loge outfield available now on the various ticket sites. So clearly a lot of these are getting re-sold -- not shocking. For future reference, I usually have pretty good luck with concert tickets, etc. having a separate browser window open with the 'official' time from time.gov, then click on whatever ticket link right at the top of the hour. I read that somewhere awhile ago and it's at least something to try.
  14. I was in line for Cameron -- what a letdown. At around 11:00 they came through the line to tell us he wasn't coming. They did take our name and address and apparently will send us an autographed item. That would be nice and I understand stuff comes up, but that felt like a major waste of time.
  15. I don't do anything fancy but I've used and liked Dotster for several years.
  16. I can't imagine any response, no matter how well written, could convince him to change his mind or see the error in his thinking. Furthermore I wouldn't be surprised if he and other columnists judge the success of a column in part on the number of responses they get, positive or negative. Therefore not sending in a response seems like a better protest, along with never reading his column again.
  17. It would have been a surprise if someone else won. Mildly curious to know the vote results and number of votes, but I don't see that in the article. I like this policy, and that they state it clearly :
  18. I'm convinced that the issue is with the batters eye. Rock mentioned it again yesterday, that when the infield is in the shadows, the sun on the batters eye make it difficult/impossible to pick up the spin on the ball. When Prince hit his HR that was the situation. Surely there must be some way to make the batters eye less reflective of the sun. That's the whole point of the batters eye, to have a background that makes it possible for batters to clearly see the ball. In this case it's failing, so why not try to improve it? The easy thing to say is, 'just deal with it'.
  19. Just saw that Saturday's block party lineup has been posted: June 27 - Player Appearances: * Dave Bush * Yovani Gallardo * Bill Castro * Stan Kyles * Mark DiFelice * Casey McGehee * J.J. Hardy * Jody Gerut * Corey Hart * Carlos Villanueva http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/mil/fan_forum/blockparty.jsp
  20. In the audio from earlier in the thread, Braun mentions the batter's eye being lit up by the sun, and the safety hazard of not being able to see a 95 mph pitch. Maybe the batter's eye is the real problem, and all that's really needed is to change it somehow. Not sure if that would mean using a different material or paint or what, but that seems like it would be much easier to fix than the panels.
  21. It would be so nice to get one of those signed. Per mikitasports.com he uses 35" 31.5oz.
  22. It's been awhile since mine, but I followed Hal Higdon's novice training program fairly closely and liked it. http://www.halhigdon.com/#marathon I don't think playing soccer should be a problem, cross training is helpful. Just listen to your body. I'd recommend reviewing the marathon course closely and as you get into your longer runs, try to find a training run that sort of mimics the elevation gains. In the marathon I ran there was a big hill at mile 18 that killed me. I wish I would have trained a bit more specifically for the course. Try to mix in some sprinting, too, even a little bit.
  23. Blancofan1 was nice enough to give me passes gratis. The generosity on this board is amazing.
  24. Heading to the game for my birthday and would like to splurge on the Metavante buffet. Let me know if you have two passes I could take off your hands. Thanks
  25. Can I ask where you got the picture? Interesting that Braun is wearing Rivera's helmet.
