    Khris Davis, 7th round, is playing for Fullerton. I saw one AB the other day, he got a hit and stole a base. The ESPN guys were talking about what a steal he was in the 7th round.

    Whatever you may think of LOTF (and I'm no fan believe me), to think that they saw this thread and then said "hey we better quick sign Gamel to an exclusive" is ridiculous.

    Jeff's is negotiating with Hoffman, so we'll see if it happens this summer. Weeks was suppose to be with Gallardo on Saturday, but obviously he won't be there.

    Yup, you're right. It didn't look like a double chinstrap but I can see that it is. Cool helmet, $150 is worth it.

    Have an extra pitcher against the Twins makes sense, we probably don't need any pinch hitters. But I thought they might keep Hurricane so we could have four lefties in the lineup this weekend (Hurricane at 2B, Counsell at 3B, Gamel at DH and Prince). Hall can spend the weekend cleaning up sunflower seeds in the dugout.

    If this was the Bucks medical staff, first Rickie would be day to day, then put on the 15 day disabled list, then we would be told he'd be back for the playoff run in September and in October he would finally have the surgery that would cause him to miss all of 2010.

    I think it would be better for Gamel to just play every day and take some fielding lumps rather than play sporadically. He isn't Braun cocky but I think he'll do fine.

    Roberts isn't a one year rental though. He's a 4+ year "rental". Then you're set at both second base and leadoff. I agree it's a reactionary move and one I'm sure Doug won't make. And I also agree to let's wait and see how Gamel does. If he can play every day then we do have the Hall option at second. But we don't have a leadoff batter on this team right now no matter who plays second or third.

    I'll take Roberts at $10 million ($7 million this season), switch hitting leadoff batter, solid in the field. If Weeks comes back 100% great, you can never have too much talent. Make another deal next season. But the wrist thing is worrysome. Absolutely can't go the whole season with Counsel/Ibby et. al. And Durham and any other scrub that can be picked up isn't the answer either. This team has too much promise to have a big hole at second the remainder of the season.
