  1. I'll take tailgating over crowded, smelly bars and restaurants around the stadium. Nothing beats firing up the grill at MP and throwing back some cold ones for a couple of hours before heading into the game.
  2. I hope you don't honestly think it would matter? Because that is just weird if you do. Weird that Maddux didn't seem concerned about it? (Did you see his interview?). Weird that it depends on how he feels tomorrow? (We already know there is no swelling or pain). Weird that we have an off day before his next start? (We do). Weird that I hope he will be fine in 6 days? (Hmmm). Weird that I brought up Sheets? (do you think he would have stayed in the game?)
  3. Yes we all know that directing a baseball telecast is more difficult than most sports. And yet there are plenty of competent baseball directors out there. Unfortunately we don't have one of them. Trenni said the new "regular" director was suppose to be here by now but I didn't notice any improvement today. It's inexcusable for a major league team to have minor league (if that) broadcasting standards. I thought last year was bad having to deal with Davey. But at least the game production was fine. Now we have grade school production and we still have Davey. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  4. Maddux didn't seem too concerned about it after the game. It all depends on how it feels tomorrow. We have an off day before his next start. Hopefully he will be fine in 6 days. This isn't Sheets we're talking about.
  5. I always sit in the first or second level, usually the first. I don't care for the club seats. I think they are way overpriced. Too far up, they are just like the old upper grandstand seats of County Stadium but with a much heftier price. I don't need waitress service. Bleachers are always fun and a good bang for your buck. But sit field level at least once if you can.
  6. I was looking forward to Sheets vs. Hamels, I hope that doesn't get screwed up. But I think at the least, Sheets gets moved back a day or two.
  7. The NBA also used to keep the refs identities a secret until game time. After the Donaghy arrest they started releasing the names the morning of the game. I don't know why MLB doesn't just let you know ahead of time who the umps will be for a series. After game 1 you know the umps for the rest of the series anyway.
  8. I would imagine most relievers fare better when there are no men on base.
  9. By Yo joining the team in NY it appears as if they will be skipping his last rehab start. His next scheduled day to pitch is Monday, which just happens to be Bush's spot.
  10. This has been another horrible telecast and it's only in the 4th inning. Missed plays, late switching to plays and completely random stupid shots in the middle of an AB.
  11. I don't know why anyone ever asks Bud anything anymore. Don Fehr runs baseball.
  12. A little late to the debate but the original was definitely slopper. I remember it well from the County Stadium days. In the original video the slopper looked a lot like former Brewer Paul Mirabella.
  13. It's too bad this game isn't in HD. In fact none of the Mets games are in HD and only one game on the road trip is, the 15th against the Cards.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  14. When you direct basketball you only switch cameras when play is stopped. In baseball it's all done on the fly. Basketball is much easier to direct so why didn't the regular guy switch to the Brewers last week and the replacement guy do the Bucks? No one is even watching them...
  15. Exactly. Even on routine ground balls most of the time the director is late switching to the right camera. It's horrible.
  16. I think it was a dig at himself. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. Bucks season is over next week (thank God) so maybe we can get the regular guy back soon. Or maybe he gets a couple of weeks vacation before switching to baseball. I hope not.
  18. Nothing ground breaking but it's always good to get some national pub.
  19. I received a followup response from Trenni this morning: OK, I'll try and find a nice way to pass this message on! Like I said in my first email, our real director will be back soon, and I'm guessing you'll notice a huge difference. The same crew is producing/directing the game on WMLW tonight (which I don't have to work), so I'll have a chance to see the game on TV and figure out what the problems are. And yes, I completely took your email as constructive. My biggest pet peeve is the animosity of the internet and how viewers rip people/teams without actual examples. So many people criticize behind a screen name and just for the sake of being nasty because they can. I'll always respond to someone who offers up an actual example or legit complaint!
  20. My favorite memory will be when he finally wins more than 12 games. I'm hopeful it's this season.
  21. A good looking sideline reporter is cliche. A talented good looking sideline reporter is not.
  22. Sorry you will have to get in line behind me.
