What I think is sad is that anyone who has a criticism about the team and thinks there should be changes is branded not a real fan and a band wagoner. I guess you have to wear the proverbial rose colored glasses in order to be a "real" fan of the team. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif
Yeah, DM was of the opinion that all this team needed was some short term vets to turn it into a playoff team. Gagne, Mota, Torres, Kendall, Cameron. And now Tavarez.
So all the suits being in D.C. had nothing to do with seeing the new stadium or firing Yost. They were just there to welcome the missing piece to our playoff puzzle.
Interesting. I guess if Powell knew about it, it was something planned in advance. But why fly in for just one game when the team will be back home on Tuesday? On the other hand would Gord Ash have to be there for a Yost firing. Maybe he just wants to be in on the fun.
I agree. The "everything will be fine, we are just a young, scrappy team who has to take their lumps from time to time" is getting old. Very old. I'll keep an eye on Badgerblog and see if anything is up with a manager change. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
I would never do that. It's just rude. Exactly. It's easier to use your cell phone. Then you can be one of those morons who sits behind home plate waving their arms while talking on it. "Look how cool I am, I'm on TV". http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
I can't see how the brass can justify not making a move regardless of tomorrow's game. 3-7 or 4-6, still blows. But I'm sure we will hear all about the big "comeback" today instead.
Interesting if that's what he said on the radio. Because he wrote: Somebody named the "Badger Blogger," who I am told does mainly political postings (I must admit I'm not familiar with the site) posted a blog late Sunday night claiming manager Ned Yost will be relieved of his duties on the team's off day in Pittsburgh today. So Tommy either lied on the radio or lied in his own blog.
His last extension was done in spring training. I guess I can see the wait and see approach, this next contract is going to be for more than the last one.
If it had to wait 5 days because it wasn't a "scheduled day" then I guess that points out an advantage of a blog over a newspaper column. But as to the actual column, I guess if Oates nailed it then so did a lot of people on this board and a lot of people on a lot of boards I've read. They've all said the exact same thing (5 days ago).
It took Oates 5 days to come up with the obvious. Don't believe everything you read. Gee, no kidding. I love his line "some blogs are witty, insightful and occasionally even break news". Just like newspaper columnists, Tom.
If LaPorta can make the jump to our outfield next year we don't have to bring back Cameron and that saves us $10 million next year. Gagne's $10 million is also gone (thank God). Of course Prince will get a nice raise as will Hart and Weeks. It's an interesting (and important) situation.
I'm sure the term "veteran closer" was what Melvin spoon fed Haudricourt. I know he has to be around these guys every day but I'd love some real reporting from the JS. Please.
Good point. Our options are limited this season. But as Doug and Gord look ahead to 2009 they certainly should not be seeing Dave Bush in the rotation.
