  1. That's a good point. Many athletes signatures change throughout the years. Some even change within a year or two. Urlacher has had a couple of different sigs. Some players sign one way when it's free and another when they are getting paid for it.
  2. Yeah I just saw that. Sweet. We have HD for the next 9 games.
  3. Unfortunately that has happened as well. I used to work in the business so I've worked with these companies quite a bit. Actually I still consult in the business http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif While using a company like JSA, PSA, et al.. is a good starting point and they certainly are above board, if I was looking to buy (or sell) a valuable sig I would have it authenticated by 2-3 companies. Obviously the only way to be 100% sure is to witness the signing yourself but have multiple independent analysis will get you the right result 99% of the time.
  4. I won't be home until about 7:30, I manually set the DVR to record 669-1. Hopefully it's actually on. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. Good point. It doesn't show up in the guide tonight, either HD or SD.
  6. Exactly I also know some people who had things signed in person and then were told by both PSA and JSA that they sigs weren't authentic.
  7. Sometimes you just have to dig for info a little bit. Mikita has a deal with Braun so you know if you buy from him you are getting the real deal. But his COA absolutely sucks, could have been done on any computer. For a guy as big as Braun you would think he'd spring for holograms, those are a lot harder to counterfeit. Another example is Radtke Sports. They had an exclusive with Vick. So anything you buy from them signed by Vick is legit (not that anyone wants Vick Falcons stuff now).
  8. Companies that have exclusive contracts with athletes, such as Upper Deck, Steiner, Mounted Memories etc... are top notch. MM has a numbered hologram and you can look it up online to see when/where the item was signed. Third party companies such as PSA/DNA are good but not 100%. I know PSA has authenticated some items that were not authentic. The best authentication obviously is to get it signed yourself. Of course that hurts resale value but most of us who have a collection are never going to sell anyway.
  9. Even if this had nothing to do with Cameron's dad I don't see what the big deal is. You are celebrating a victory. Why does the whole team have to come out of the dugout to shake hands and high five? That's just as "disrespectful". Maybe they shouldn't smile after a win either. That may upset Albert.
  10. I believe he's only been to the opening series. It doesn't really matter, we've been playing better with him not here anyway. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure it was on Rogers. That pic only shows 25th street. I know the guy labeled it as Becher but I remember parking on Rogers. Then again I wasn't drinking lemonade there either so who knows.
  12. That's right. On DirecTV I get all of the FSN channels from around the country. But games are blacked out.
  13. How can someone who looks like this take a jab at anyone? http://espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/coaches/30029.jpg
  14. Who cares? The Almighty Cardinals care.
  15. If you are planning to be there to tailgate when the lots open you should be fine. I got down there yesterday a little after 3 and parked in preferred no problem. Closer to gametime then yes, you might have some trouble.
  16. Yount, Molitor and Gantner are appearing at the Chicago show through Legends (as is Dayne) so the Yount prices are the same. Unfortunately Yount refuses to do a Wisconsin signing.
  17. At least they explained the differences, zip codes vs. counties. It still sucks though.
  18. I don't remember how long it was around or exactly when. Fitzgerald sold the Bucks in 1985 so it was before then. Certainly a different era of TV now than then. I don't know how feasible it would be for a market like ours to have the team own their own network, get it carried on all of the cable/sat channels, sell all the ads, and make more than they do now from FSN.
  19. Yeah never send something through the mail unless you don't mind never getting it back.
  20. It was a real bar owned by the two of them. It was at 25th and Rogers on the south side. I never am on the south side I don't know what's there now.
  21. Many years ago the Brewers did have their own network, in partnership with the Bucks. It was called Wisconsin Sportsvue. Selig and Bucks owner Jim Fitzgerald formed it. They also had some Badger sports. It was offered at (I think) about $12 a month, like HBO or Showtime. Eventually it merged with other networks and became Midwest Sportsvue and then it died.
  22. A lot of mental midgets are always posting on the blogs.
  23. It's screwy how that all works. I'm not sure what "overflow" channels means. In the Milwaukee area 669 is FSN-WI all the time. Unlike many of the other FSN channels around the country they don't broadcast 24/7, they only broadcast games. A few years ago we shared a channel with the Twins, when it was called FSN-North. At that time there was a "main" channel and an overflow channel when both Twins and Brewers were on at the same time. I guess they are still doing that for your area.
