  1. Wow, the Packers will catch a huge break going into Arrowhead withought having to face Patrick Mahomes. Now they just can’t drop Sunday’s game in Oakland and waste their opportunity to go 7-1.
  2. I think the Rams are just trying to sell PSL’s for their new stadium.
  3. The Packers lead the league in ‘beneficiary yards’ (opponent penalties) with over 500 yards through six games.
  4. Nearly everything should be reviewable, but eliminate automatic challenges and limit coaches to a max of 2 challenges per game. Replay should be used to reverse egregious calls (or non-calls) only.
  5. Awesome. Hope you had a good time and enjoyed Green Bay. Have fun poking through the GT. I honestly thought they were doomed after the second turnover (and the third). What percentage of games are won by the team who loses the turnover battle by 3? 1%?
  6. I’ve never been one to pound the table for trades, but hear me out: The Packers are 5-1. They very well may be 6-1 by this time next week. How many shots at a another title does Rodgers have left? There are a large number of bad teams already out of contention, which should help make more players available via trade. I hope they use some of their 2020 mid and late round picks to upgrade the roster for a run in 2020.
  7. That was ... fun? Goodnight, BF!
  8. That's quite a stretch. The Lions are a good team. They have played every good team on their schedule very tough. Meh, it’s a little of both. Detroit looks like a good team, but what’s the score without the 3 giveaways? 26-16 Packers?
  9. I can’t wait to get these night games behind us. I know they have another one coming up at Arrowhead, but for a guy who regularly goes to bed at 9:00 pm, these games just wreck me next day.
  10. it really sucks for Rodgers to have 2 INTs on the season when neither have been his fault.
  11. I can’t believe all the love Stanford gets for his ‘success’ against the Packers. Sure, he’s won 4 in a row, but Rodgers had a broken collarbone in two of those games and was knocked out of a third. Rodgers is 13-5 against the Lions in his career and was knocked out of two losses early (2010 and 2018).
  12. The 2 giveaways are the difference in the game. I don’t think they win unless they take one away.
  13. For as crummy as this game started, I’m OK being down by 3.
  14. Hopefully the defense is well rested after that drive.
  15. Danny Vitale is married to Chris Chelios’ daughter.
  16. The offense isn’t good enough to overcome more than one TO.
  17. LOL ... you picked the Packers to beat the Bears and Broncos, and otherwise picked them to lose. I am starting to think that perhaps you are underestimating this team. I personally don't think the Lions are very good. If the Packers don't lay en egg, this should be a win. I hope I’m underestimating them. I like what I see, but am proceeding with caution. I thought last week was a good win, but then the winless Jets beat the Cowboys too.
  18. Does Jason Garrett get fired tonight if the Cowboys lose to the Jets?
  19. Nothing really broke the Packers way in today’s early games: - Vikings over Eagles - Seahawks over Browns - Saints over Jaguars It would have been nice to get one of those.
  20. I’m happy with the 4-1 record, but still skeptical. I have the same feeling going into this game as I did before playing Philadelphia (except now the Packers are the team with the injuries). Without Adams or Savage, I’ll take Detroit 27-20.
  21. I don't think you need a great defense, you need a competent one. When you're running Gunter out there as your #1 CB, it doesn't really work. Like I've said, I could be wrong, but I don't recall him doing it many times it didn't make sense. He USUALLY did it when they were backed up and didn't get anything on 1st down. But I think the larger issue with McCarthy is he just stayed too long. If he'd have done all the same things he did but had just left before that vaunted 10 year period, he'd be considered up there with Holmgren. But he didn't. It'll be interesting to see if he's back coaching next year or whenever he gets another job and see how he does. He left Green Bay with similar fanfare to how Andy Reid left Philly. Longtime MM apologist here to weigh in: 1) Andy Reid never won a Super Bowl in Philadelphia. 2) Lombardi and Holmgren left GB for different jobs. McCarthy only wanted to coach the Packers. I’d argue the roster was devoid of talent because Mark Murphy failed to “offer a gold watch” to Ted Thompson when signs of cognitive decline were obvious even to the fan base. However, I’ll acknowledge that McCarthy had gotten stale and it was time for a change due to the many aforementioned reasons.
  22. If Michael Jordan doesn’t play baseball, do the Bulls 8-peat? If so, is Michael Jordan then the best athlete (of any sport) of all all-time without question?
  23. Foles could be traded they will have to add a pick to trade him but he is tradeable. I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears traded for him. Long for Foles and a 2nd or 3rd sounds about right. Haven't looked at the cap numbers but I think it would fit for Chicago with Long being the guy traded to clear cap space I think the Jags cap hit would be almost as much as Foles contract, so I don't think he's going anywhere. I think they may still be paying Blake Bortles this year, as well. When he was released, the prorated portion of his $27 million signing bonus would have accelerated into the current year. Since he only played one year into his three-year contract, that meant 2/3 of Bortles’ signing bonus hit the Jaguars’ cap this year. Between Foles’ $22 million and Bortles’ $18 million, the Jaguars might be spending more on the QB position than any other team this year ... and neither guy is taking snaps for them right now.
  24. Foles could be traded they will have to add a pick to trade him but he is tradeable. I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears traded for him. Long for Foles and a 2nd or 3rd sounds about right. Haven't looked at the cap numbers but I think it would fit for Chicago with Long being the guy traded to clear cap space You’re right. I could see Foles making sense for a team like the Bears. But then the Bears will have went from a Pro Bowl QB on a rookie contract (Trubisky made the Pro Powl last year) to paying a proven, but average QB at the market rate. The Bears basically have to pay an extra $15 million per year for something they already thought they had with no guarantee of improved performance. That’s a tough spot.
