That is a very well reasoned response. I went back and re-read the original post - I don’t disagree with your premise. I do disagree with the sentiment advocated by some others that we potentially sacrifice the future by taking risks with starting pitcher arms this early in the season. I will admit my focus got pulled away from your original topic.
I also think, given time, he would do quite well. He is a very smart guy and I think once he got comfortable and relaxed, he would be quite entertaining.
I would be willing to bet that he doesn’t go anywhere other than with the big league team. The Brewers do not really seem to send folks out to rehab if they are established major league players.
Glad I didn’t reply earlier. I was going to say “they should just dl him and let him rest”. This is why I am a fan and not involved in any way with actual decisions.
The Chicago Tribune was pretty clear that it is service time related but I guess that is just an opinion since the Cubs are clearly saying that he played well this spring but Bote was better and won the competition.
I obviously don’t have any inside information but I suspect there is plenty of blame to go around. If JJ was a model teammate, I sincerely doubt that his former agent would be considered an impediment by teams. Whatever is going on with him - I hope it works out for him and that he is ok.
I did not realize that he was a cult figure in Green Bay! Also a little surprised that he would push Goff for the starting role this year. I guess I missed the Tim Boyle Experience by living out of state.
