  1. I'm pretty close to this. I'd go Lamb, Ross, and then I'm indifferent on either Jones after those 2. I'd take either. I would be sick to my stomach if they took Leonard at 14. I really think Lamb or Ross will fall though, but if they don't we're probably looking at the choice of Leonard or one of the Jones's. In that case, they might take Leonard. Let's hope that doesn't happen.
  2. I'm not sure. Something in my gut tells me that White is going to be a good player in the league. He kind of reminds me of Shawn Marion. That said, he's build like Marcus Fizer which scares me, in addition to the Iowa St. tie. I think the the major issue is that he will be a SF and his shooting is pretty suspect. There are some other issues with him, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him turn into one of the better players from this draft. I'm not saying he won't be a good player, I'm just saying 14 would be a reach for him when he could probably be had in the 20-25 range. He'd be a good trade candidate if the Bucks say traded back for 21 and 22 from Boston or something.
  3. Not a fan of these "out of your mind if think 'x'" posts. Yes Profar might be wishing. But I don't think it should be dismissed outright. Texas has Andrus and Kinsler up the middle for the next couple of years, plus Beltre and Young. Sure they could move one of those guys. But if they really wanted Greinke (and I think they should, since he would put them as the absolute favs for a WS title) and Melvin was really insistent on Profar, it could happen. However, I don't think Melvin is the type to be really insistent on a certain player and I could see him being talked into something less. Honestly, there is absolutely no way Profar will be traded. And especially not for a rental like Greinke. It's not gonna happen. Plain and simple. The Rangers will make room for him if they have to. They'd probably trade Andrus to make room if they had to. Daniels would laugh at Melvin if he asked for Profar in return for Greinke. Olt is even a pipe dream. People need to realize how good of a prospect Profar is. He's not just the Rangers top prospect, he's one of the best prospects in all of baseball, if not the best. Olt is more of the guy you could say would be wishing, but shouldn't be dismissed. There's a 0% chance of getting Profar for Greinke. Even if Melvin insists, they'll just say ok we pass, and then go and get the next best starter on the market. It's not like Greinke will be the only available option out there. Melvin won't have that kinda leverage. Sure Melvin will have a certain return in mind, but that doesn't mean that other GMs are stupid. The price will have to come down a little at some point if he doesn't get what he wants. I just think people need to temper there expectations on what the return for Greinke will be. He's not gonna get us a prospect the caliber of Profar. However, we can still get a good return for him.
  4. If the target was Royce White, and the Bucks have shown no interest in him, they would be trading back to take him. Drafting him at 14 would be a huge reach.
  5. Just saw on twitter that MLB reported that Cabrera has gotten 2x as many votes as Braun in the last 24 hours. So people can't stop voting. Gotta get Braun in there.
  6. I like this trade solely because it should prevent the Bucks from stupidly drafting Henson, Leonard, or Zeller, and instead take a wing like Ross or Lamb.
  7. If anyone thinks we're getting Profar then they are out of their minds. There is absolutely no way the Rangers would even consider trading Profar for a rental. When is the last time a top 5 prospect in all of baseball got traded? Much less for a rental? For a rental the answer is never. Montero is probably as close as it gets, but that wasn't for a rental. That was for 5 years of Pineda. That's more of the kind of deal it would take to get Profar. Olt is even a pipe dream, but more realistic at least.
  8. Good to see that Brewers fans are getting it done. Cabrera will probably get in anyway due to Kemp dropping out, but it's nice to see Braun actually get voted in despite everything. Gotta love Brewer fans support!
  9. Of course our options are limited. Obviously the Astros and other non contending teams aren't going to be going after him, but why should Melvin decide that certain teams aren't fits before they even make offers? That makes no sense. I'd rather have 8 teams interested than 4, even if you don't think 4 of those teams can make the right offer it's good to have more teams involved. Might have something to do with the prospects certain teams have. He's probably had his scouts out on them for awhile now, and he'll know who he likes before he even starts taking offers. He won't bother talking to a team that doesn't have prospects he likes, even if they fit as suitors for Greinke. Either way, I really don't take everything Melvin says at the truth. It's just what he does. He should be able to figure out what teams are actually in play for the kind of offer he wants almost immediately after he makes Greinke available though.
  10. Hart and Weeks both have horrendous career numbers against Arroyo, lefties rake Arroyo, and righties don't. That's about it. I don't have a problem with it.
  11. No way Greinke re-signs during the season. He'll hit free agency, because he'd be stupid not to. And when that happens, the price will likely sky-rocket, and then he's gone. And since we don't want to keep Marcum, trade him too. Also K-Rod and Kottaras. No one will want Wolf, but if they do he can go. Keep everyone else, unless someone actually wants some of our bad relievers or bench players. Just gotta get something for impending free agents we either can't keep, or don't want to keep. But of course, it makes sense to wait a few more weeks to see where we're at. Things aren't looking good right now though.
  12. Don't worry a SS prospect will be on the way in the Greinke trade.
  13. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/160289475.html#!page=1&pageSize=10&sort=newestfirst Here's some more bad news.
  14. It would be fitting if Gamel got moved to RF. He just keeps getting moved. I wouldn't mind him out there though. He wouldn't be any worse than Hart defensively, and he has a strong arm. His bat is also needed in the lineup. Hart is just looking way too good at 1B defensively to move him back to RF. A swap would work out nicely. Not sure if they'd wait until 2014 or not though. Because they'll still have Aoki next year, and Hart's contract is up after next year as well. May just use Gamel all over for a year, and then wait and see where we need him in 2014.
  15. On the bright side, Orlando Hudson is up. But he'll get a hit with how this season is going.
  16. Unless he had thrown 20+ pitches last inning, there was really no excuse to not put K-Rod back in for the 9th. Although, I knew Roenicke would pull him anyway. That's what he does.
  17. Morgan can leave this team any time now. Another stupid, stupid mistake there. Doesn't even know the count.
  18. At least K-Rod looks like his old self. Now the rest of the pen? That's a different story. Get ready for that mess coming up.
  19. I think OF wise next year I'd prefer a Schafer/Gomez platoon in CF, and Aoki everyday in RF. Gamel can get some starts out there too if need be. Make him versatile, so he's available wherever we need him in future years.
