I've decided that I'm going to try and get replacements from the US Army. I have complete understand why sports athletes sell their personal achievements rather that passing them down. Its much easier to split the money. I love researching and I loved researching the collectibles of Brewers players both the old minor league Brewers and the current Brewers franchise. I've had a few other Brewers historians pass away in recent years and their wealth of knowledge basically lost. I came to the realization the Brewers themselves don't care about their own history. I'm not going to stop collecting. My father passed away 12 years ago, and little was known about his side of the family. I started out my quest trying to put a face to every name. My father had a large box of pictures, and I asked my sister what she wanted. She took maybe five pictures in all, and I took the rest. Now, here we are in the past 6 years I've made it my mission to make a book for my children on the family history as a wedding gift( I have time as my kids are 10 and 12). I've spent thousands of hours researching, emailing, and visiting family members. I've scanned family pictures from as many relatives that would let me scan them. I've documented who is on each picture that I have. I've made duplicate copies for each of my children. I've decided to try and get replacements, but with the US Army there are hoops to jump through. Other than the veterans mother, father, and spouse who are long deceased, only the eldest child or eldest grandchild can request the medals. I am neither of those people. I have talked to my aunt who is the eldest child and she will help me out. I know if either my sister or my cousin find out about the medals they are going to want some too (they don't know the medals even existed). I recommend for everyone to write the names of who is in each picture on the back. As generations pass away no one is going to know. We may be the generation who takes the most pictures, but 75 years from now our grandchildren will have no idea who most of the people are.

My grandfather was in WWII and received some medals and ribbons. When he had cancer he had given an extended married into the family all but one of the medals as a thank you for taking him to radiation treatments. I have one of the medals that has my grandfathers name on it, but the other items are long gone. I've asked the people that are still living if they might have the medals, but they don't. The ethical question is... Should I buy the missing medals or not? They would not be the actual medal that my grandfather would have gotten. The only people that would know they are not the same medals/ribbons are my wife and I.

I was curious how that was coming along. I'm guessing about 60 of those guys you need come from the last two or three seasons. I still keep plugging away at it. Balls have gone up about $4.00 each since I started. I've been able to keep up in the past 10-12 years pretty good. This year is a struggle though with all the roster movement, and its frustrating. I'm missing most from the 71-76 and 96-03 team years. Many of the players from those years were pretty bad and Milwaukee was their only chance to play in the bigs. I find quite a few, especially from the bad era don't want to sign. They feel like they didn't get their chance and are pissed off at baseball in general. Keep in mind, when I'm sending a baseball TTM it's a $14 ball plus about $6 in shipping. I need a pretty rock solid idea its going to be returned. There is a different mindset from sending a 10 cent card and a dollar in shipping.

I use Sportscollectors.net which is 95% autographs through the mail or in person. Network 54 for vintage and occasionally freedomcardboard.com (this site was an offshoot from the old Beckett forums) for modern cards.

A member there called thepil creates custom Brewers cards for players/coaches that didn't have regular Brewers cards. He should be able to give you pointers on what some ideas on which graphics/sites/ etc. I'm trying to collect single signed balls of every Brewers player/manager/coach. I need 240 more to go....

Lol sorry, but hatchbacks in general bug me. They just look ugly, unless they're on an SUV. I wish I still had my 1989 Mustang LX 5.0 hatchback. FOX body style.

Jim, I'm sure Connie Mack raises the price of that piece quite a bit. I personally think it has good eye appeal for a 1.5. Depending on how many of this piece still exist I could see some being a whole lot worse. My grandparents lived in the riverwest neighborhood. My aunt liked to rummage sale. I would make my mom and aunt take me to any rummage sales around the Borchert Field stadium block when I was a kid in the 80's. I especially like the 30's-50's Brewers minor league stuff.

Some bleeding on the ball with the sharpie, but the autograph is not bleeding. Was there something that I missed. How did this Brewers super fan from 1987 get a ball from that road game halfway across the country? Edit...Ok, after reading some of the other auctions this person was a special events photographer for the Brewers and probably travelled with the team.

Nope, I won't buy my children video games. They play the occasional game on their Kindle's/Chrome book, but the games they play are not very long. They have too much sporting activities and homework to do along with going outside and playing.

Guerra is a real good pitcher when he's healthy. It seems when he gets injured he's not very good. Some players play at a high level when they're hurt and others do not.

Maybe. But bring in Chapman knocked Hector Rondon into the 8th inning guy. The 8th inning guy was put to the 7th inning guy. The trickle down of talent can’t be forgotten. I want one championship. I’ll worry about a second after the first has been achieved. I would give up Ted Williams for a World Series Championship. You could make a strong case that the Cubs would have won it without him. Or you could make a case that they would have won several between 2016-20 with Torres. We'll never know.

You'll still hear it. Their non conference schedule is... New Mexico 3-9 last year BYU 4-9 last year Western Kentucky 6-7 last year These 3 games are all played at home. I think the Big 10 should only play 1 non conference game and play the rest in conference opponents. Last years non conference were BYU, Utah State, and Florida Atlantic.

In the past the Brewers never saved that kind of stuff. Just look at the 1994 Miller Lite giveaway set to see the crappy photos of some of the obscure players. I know Azcue and Holdsworth answer their mail. You could ask them if they have any extra photos. I have some 70’s spring training photos that may contain some of these players. I’ll have to check.

I've been working on my family history for the past 6 years. I have some letters are written in Polish that I would like translated. I've gone to my Church to ask if anyone could to no avail so far. I've tried online using the translation programs, but they're are written in cursive. The words have to be spelled exactly(no close enough) and some on the letters are not the same as English letters. Anyone have any ideas? I would be willing to do all the writing from the translation.
