  1. I plan on retiring at 57 which is 12 years away, but that all hinges on what my kids do for schooling. If they show the initiative to do something that will draw a larger paycheck I will work longer to help them out more. The money we will give our kids for their wedding is already in accounts for them. By the time I retire the house will be paid for, the roof will be replaced and my wife will have a new car with me getting her hand me down as usual. My private sector pension at 57 would be 3400/month. My wife will probably never quit working. She loves going to work each day and loves the interaction with people. The big unknown is healthcare. I don't pay for insurance now, but I could get it through my union when I retire at what the yearly cost is. My wife's company offers insurance, but when talking to her co-workers I can't get a definitive amount of what that costs now. Anyone that says they will have nothing to do when they retire just aren't trying if they own a house. There is always stuff to do. When I retire my oldest will be 24. My dream job is stay at home dad, maybe I can become stay at home grand dad. I'd volunteer at their schools every chance I'd get. I'd love to do all the things I missed on my children, because of work.

  3. Really? You actually believe this?
  4. Wow, this couldn't possibly be lazier. Actually yes it could, you could say "well...I've only ever seen him throw 2 pitches so.....". But come on man. Every scouting report that exists says that Burnes throws 4 pitches. Throwing four pitches in the minor leagues is much different than throwing four pitches in the Major Leagues. When Burnes has pitched a full season deploying all four pitches with success against Major League hitters I will consider him a four pitch pitcher. If the curve or change up were currently as good as the slider, I believe they would have been thrown more even in relief. If Corbin starts next year, pitches 175 innings & throws 50% fastballs, 30% sliders, 10% curveballs & 10% change ups, would you consider that a four pitch pitcher? Because to me, that still looks like effectively a two pitch guy. Even if 10% usage is enough, there were only 15 qualified starters this season who had four pitches each at 10% usage or higher, so the four pitch pitcher appears to be pretty rare at this point. As long as Burnes can throw those 4 pitches for strikes, then yes that is a 4 pitch pitcher. In a 10 pitch at bat that would be 5 fastballs, 3 sliders, 1 curve ball, and 1 change up. Do you expect pitchers to throw ever pitch equally? The point is to keep the hitter off balance.
  5. No, no, no no, no. In baseball there are always free agent bats available. They can always go buy a bat. They can't go buy pitching. Moustakas could have been had before the season started. We're not talking a Moustakas though. We're talking a Yelich. It will take a whole lot more than Peralta to get a Yelich bat. Just look at the comments from people after the Yelich trade when all the prospects were traded.

  7. Not this game, but Game 2 and Game 4, yeah. I can't do the "great memories were made", "good job guys!" thing. Just can't. We are known for losing and we lost again. We should have won this series. The crowning achievement will be game 163, the rest of this will largely be forgotten. It's an '08, '11. An insignificant blip. Hey now. We can put up another Division Title Pennant.

  9. This is difficult for me to understand. NLCS games 6 and 7 should be a HOT ticket always. Some season ticket holders can’t afford all the tickets they ordered. Many are worried about their credit card bill for games not played. Maybe they had planned on selling the games that weren’t played and can’t float the money for the next series games. I plan on buying tickets tomorrow morning for game 6 on stub hub, so I hope the prices go down even further.
  10. I was at last Friday’s game 1 and I didn’t think it was anywhere near as electric as 2011. The walk back to the car after the win was boring compared to 2011. I’m not one to cheer a lot. I’ll clap at times, but I watch the game more as a coach. I’m more even keeled emotionally unless it’s a huge moment.
  11. My buddy just bought us 3 tickets in the loge outfield through the brewers website for Friday nights game.
  12. Yummy. I always plant at least one cherry tomato plant so I can eat the tomato's right off the vine while I'm picking the vegetables.
  13. I didn’t know that was a thing. I’ve only seen chairs and blankets. Its so bad in Cedarburg that the city made an ordinance that chairs couldn't be put of for parades until 7:00pm the night before. People try to claim their spots in chalk now before 7:00 now.
  14. Its like the people that go to the 4th of July parades and on the 3rd try to "mark" their spots with chalk.
  15. I’m not interested in the car but did it come to you with the Brewers wrap on it?
  16. He had neck spasms last week. That may be the case here.
  17. They wouldn't be in the AL East though. The Brewers were an AL Central team after they expanded to 6 divisions. They were in the old NL East for 34 years and the 6 divisions in the AL for 4 years. So, if they were in the old NL East they would have virtually no chance each year.
  18. Lets face it. If the Brewers were in the old AL East they probably would get to the playoffs even less. Look at Tampa Bay this year. They had a real nice year with virtually no chance of making the playoffs.
  19. I've pretty much stopped watching the NFL compared to what I used to. I might have watched 60 minutes of combined NFL football last year other than the Super Bowl. This year I've watched maybe 30 minutes of action and the only 2 plays I seen last week were when I googled the Aaron Rodgers sack and the Clay Matthews sack. The rule changes the last few years have really turned me off. It started a few years ago when I watched a defensive back trying to make a tackle on a wide receiver. The other wide receiver made a block on the would be tackler. A flag was called for a defenseless player. Really, the player was trying to make a tackle, but he was defenseless. I just don't watch much anymore. I play fantasy football with friends, but I just look at box scores.
  20. I don't have any experience, but I do watch a lot of home improvement shows. I've never seen the roofer on the shows fix structure.
  21. Now you made me go look. The Indians and Rangers there the affiliates in San Antonio during the 1973-76 seasons that there were called the Brewers.
  22. Wasn't there a team that tracked 3rd party ticket sales and pulled the season tickets from those that sold their tickets quite often. Denver Broncos? maybe?
