  1. Ken Macha never had a chance with the pitching staffs he was given.
  2. Yes, that is exactly what people want to do.
  3. I'm waiting for Sveum to do the next Brewers fantasy camp. I'd love to be sitting in the bar listening to the story of Yount hitting him in the ear on their hunting trip.
  4. How could Lawrie been traded for a long term solution? Teams don't trade a top prospect in their organization for another top prospect in another teams. As his career has gone on his value has dropped. Yes, CC was traded for Brantley, who wasn't the prize of the trade at the time. If the Brewers had kept Brantley would his career be the same as it is now. Would he have gotten the opportunity. Braun in left and Hart in right. That leaves CF, and would Gomez have turned into the player that he is now? Would Brantley have turned out with less playing time? Aoki would probably never been a Brewer. The issue with the Brewers is that other than Braun, Fielder and Weeks their 1st. round picks just don't pan out.
  5. When do you go for it? Half of prospects don't even make it. How long would Brewers fans wait for Brett Lawrie and Lorenzo Cain to make it. Brett Lawrie has done nothing in the majors. We'd still be waiting on Matt Laporta from the CC deal. I'm more pissed that the previous regime didn't trade away Nomo and Nilsson at the end of their contracts. Nilsson had a .400 OBP. How frustrating is it to see the Packers draft every year and won't go after free agents. Charles Woodson didn't want to come to Green Bay. Green Bay was the only place that would take him. Reggie White would have gone back to Philadelphia if they offered him a contract.
  6. I could not have sat through the 3 previous years of Lorenzo Cain. Escobar has been basically a boom or bust player at the plate the last few years. Nelson Cruz was passed by every team in the major leagues at one point. I'd make the trade for the chance at something great.
  7. http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/sam-mellinger/article2694012.html Its a nice article on what that trade means to the Royals now.
  8. I understand, as I have a few jerseys that were game used, but tagged as team issued. The provenance is very important for me at a later date. Hope your relations with Dave are on the up and up being that they are put on a public message board.
  9. The jersey is authenticated under team issued not game used.
  10. Johnny Sain never played for the Milwaukee Braves.
  11. I thought this topic was going to be about the bar/restaurant.
  12. Looking at Escobar's 1st and 2nd half splits. When Escobar starts out the year well he finishes well. When Escobar struggles in the 1st half he struggles in the 2nd half also.
  13. I believe the unknown baseball is signed by Bill Wegman.
  14. I don't know who it is, but I do know its not Schroeder. Schroeder doesn't sign with any letter that goes below the plane that would look like a g, y, or z.
  15. Actually, almost every ball that is put in play is taken out. You just don't see it on TV like pitches in the dirt. No, I pay attention to it when I go to games. We even discuss it when it happens in the seats.
  16. If a pitcher throws a ball in the dirt the ball gets taken out of play. If a hitter hits a sharp 1 hopper through the infield the ball is still in use. I don't understand why.
  17. I don't understand any of the ups and down terminology. I can attest to as a UPS driver is that the TWC phone/internet issues always happens to the same customers in the same clusters. If one business has an issue usually the whole street has the same issue, and its usually the same businesses time after time. I've delivered in Milwaukee, West Bend, Grafton, Cedarburg, Jackson, Slinger, Germantown, and Mequon/Thiensville.
  18. Who didn't know that Jose Canseco was taking steroids. Everyone was laughing at him and his wife as he was playing demolition derby with his cars. Or when Canseco had the cops chase him for 15 miles.
  19. I'll give you advice you didn't ask for either. Why not set up an account with Schwab or Fidelity, etc. and have x amount automatically deducted from every paycheck? Then you can't piss it away, it's exactly the same as taking extra tax money out. The difference is, your money is growing in that account instead of sitting in the IRS. How much would I have to pay one of those types of companies.
  20. A's over Dodgers Beane vs Billions
  21. I don't see any major changes, and I don't think any major trades. I really don't know what will happen with Roenicke and the staff. The starting pitching will be status quo with Gallardo back. The bullpen usually changes and I see K-Rod gone, maybe Duke gets a better deal elsewhere. Gorz is gone. Nelson to the pen. I can see A-Ram accepting the offer as he likes to be close to home. Weeks gone. Both Reynolds and Overbay gone, but we got what out of them what was expected. The Brewers need a left handed bat . I don't see the Brewers giving Billy Butler a long term deal if he's available, and I don't see him accepting a 1 or 2 year deal anyways. I wouldn't mind Adam LaRoche on a 1 year deal if available.
  22. Personally, I think #70 should be retired for Selig.
  23. No way, The way people on here talk about Jimmy Nelson I thought he was Walter Johnson.
