  1. Closer to a 90 degree warmup in what it feels like if you account for the wind chill.
  2. Nine Below on North Avenue allows you to build a mini golf hole and then play a nine hole round (including your hole and 8 others built by other teams): https://www.ninebelowmke.com
  3. I always thought 12pm = noon and 12am =midnight. But I am completely on board with CST vs CDT. I don't know why that distinction isn't taught in school.
  4. There is no such thing as traveling when inbounding the ball. The rule states that on a spot throw in you still have a three foot area in which to move parallel to the sideline. Normal rules about traveling, pivot foots, etc don't apply, it's just a three foot window you're free to move in. If a player violates the three foot area, sometimes a ref will blow it dead and signal a travel because there is no official signal for moving more than three feet on a throw in, so traveling is about the closest thing you can signal. But it's not actually a travel.
  5. Seems like Tim Murray is Czabe's permanent replacement on Bob and Brian now. Interesting dynamic given that Murray is another guy from DC who I believe used to work with Czabe.
  6. From the start I wondered why this was even a legal issue as opposed to an NCAA compliance issue. I'm no legal expert but it seems like it has something to do with the agreement that Adidas has with the schools (i.e., coaxing a now-ineligible player to go to a school where they'll support their brand - thus since the player is ineligible the school loses while Adidas wins financially). I wonder if you'd have the same legal result if Big Donor Joe paid the next superstar HS kid $50,000 to go to his alma mater (where Big Donor Joe reaps no financial benefit and has no financial arrangement with the school other than being a donor).
  7. You're right that most of the better street spots are close to a mile away. But a lot of people do park on the street. Depending on the situation, I often do, not just because it's free, but also because it's generally more predictable game to game than traffic to get into the parking lots. On a nice day, if I'm not tailgating and don't have kids along, I'd rather park on the street and then take a 15-20 minute walk than potentially sit in traffic and still have to walk 5-10 minutes from the parking lot into the stadium. You also are basically guaranteed to have no traffic leaving the game... I heard about and witnessed people parking on the street 1.5+ miles away for playoff games, and I still would've likely opted for that over parking in the lot and dealing with traffic before and after the game (since I heard leaving the playoff games was a pretty long wait for a lot of people).
  8. I'm guessing this was part of the issue. From an article I read, it sounds like the cost for parking was the same in all lots, so you probably had a lot of people going after the Preferred lots. And I'm guessing the street parking was relatively open as well given the likely lower number of Miller Park regulars attending.
  9. Driving to the Bucks game tonight it seemed like pretty much everyone was on 94 east getting off at Mitchell Blvd. I assumed people just didn't know exactly which way to go (since you probably had a lot of people who don't usually go to Miller Park going to the concert) and they all went the same way. Thankfully i managed to only lose a few minutes on my trip based on knowing thw area and Google Maps. On the way home the general parking lot north of 94 seemed totally empty while cars were still leaving the preferred lot, so I wondered if they didn't have all the parking lots open for some reason. I was admittedly what time the concert started when I saw how thick traffic was on 94 east after 8:00
  10. Exciting and flamboyant sounds good. Flip your bat, stare down your HR, trash talk, celebrate like your life depended on it, I don't care. But in my mind there's a pretty clear line between all that and taunting your opponent or their fans with obscene gestures.
  11. I haven't read through all the threads from last night so I'm not sure if this was already discussed. But from the people I talked to it sounds like it wasn't obvious on TV. After Machado beat out the throw for his single in the 2nd inning, he turned to the crowd (basically directly at Section 111 where I was sitting) and made a crotch grab gesture a few times. I found a video below, but I really don't think this does it justice, as it was even more blatant when he was looking right at the crowd. https://www.12up.com/posts/6201849-video-manny-machado-blatantly-grabs-his-crotch-to-taunt-brewers-fans Not that we needed more ammo against Machado, but it would be nice to see MLB crack down more on things like this. I'm also sick of seeing things like the suck it gesture. I've seen some Brewers (Aguilar and Arcia come immediately to mind) and Puig last night make a gesture that looked like the suck it gesture. I'm not sure if MLB hands out fines for this kind of stuff or not, but I wish they'd clean up it up by imposing something like an automatic ejection for that kind of crap.
  12. FUN!! I'm sure I'll be a nervous wreck on Saturday, but FUN!!
  13. Looking for one ticket, ideally field infield box somewhat near the Brewers' dugout (but also potentially open to other options). Willing to pay the going rate, but hoping to avoid stubhub fees and split the savings with whoever may have a ticket.
  14. Face value tickets for tonight are available on the Brewers' website currently. I just had the chance to buy two in section 120 row 21 for $240 each. I didn't (already have tickets for tonight) but was just curious. Currently no availability for Game 7.
  15. The Brewers are 5-0 in games I attended this year. And those five wins weren't just any old wins, they were all critical wins in brilliant stretches: Monday, May 28 - beat the Cardinals 8-3 to get to 15 games over .500 (35-20, our high water mark until July) and cap off a stretch of games in which we went 14-4. Friday, August 24 - beat the Pirates 7-6 in 15 innings, courtesy of Jordan Lyles, Eric Kratz, and Orlando Arcia. You can easily argue that this game was a turning point in the season that propelled us to a great September. Tuesday, September 4 - beat the Cubs 11-1. Nice to gain ground on the Cubs and keep a good stretch of baseball going. Sunday, September 30 - beat the Tigers 11-0 for our 7th straight win to force a game 163 tiebreaker. Friday, October 5 - beat the Rockies 4-0 for our tenth straight win to give us a 2-0 lead in the NLDS. I'm going to the game tonight. On a side note, I'm also accepting offers of free NLCS Game 7 and World Series tickets.
  16. Does anyone know if the partner presale passwords are unique, or if there's one universal code?
  17. Did Counsell come right out and say Hader is unavailable today? If not, with a late lead today I could see him going an inning. He pitched one inning each of the past two days for a total of 28 pitches (obviously that doesn't include the effort to warm up and get ready to come in). Hard to say if he'd have his normal stuff and his normal command pitching a third straight day, but if Counsell believes he does, this would be the time to pitch him a third day in a row with an off day tomorrow. Obviously there is some risk/reward there so I wouldn't at all be surprised if he's unavailable either.
  18. Dodger fans must be really antsy. Hearing a decent amount of cheers on routine ground balls.
  19. I absolutely despise those verification images. Half the time I get them wrong. When they tell me to click on all the images with a vehicle, I’m never sure if they want me to include all pictures with even the tiniest sliver or corner of a vehicle in them. And then the pictures aren’t always clear enough to tell what’s a tire vs a shadow on the pavement, etc. And now sometimes the pictures change after you select them the first time... ugh
  20. I feel like it’s hard to draw too many conclusions from these non-conference games against weak opponents. Obviously the Badgers (like other good P5) teams are playing to win, but against a clearly inferior opponent it’s not like the Chryst or Leonhard are going to pull too much out of the playbook. It seems like the goal in these games is more so to come away with a clear win (not too close of a game) while also allowing your team the opportunity to execute as a team against a different team in a game situation. I think of it as somewhere between an NFL preseason game and a regular season game in terms of coaching strategy.
  21. It's incredible where Chryst has taken the program compared to where it was under Andersen. Alvarez was quoted at one point as saying we would've likely failed to make a bowl game in 2015 if GA stuck around. Chryst basically took one year to turn us into a perennial Top 10 team and a legitimate CFP contender. And now the recruiting classes are really starting to take off too. If we hang onto Logan Brown and some of our other top recruits along with Mertz, that 2019 class could be incredible. Obviously there are two very tough road games on the schedule this year (Michigan and PSU) and a couple other ones that we could easily lose if we have a down week (Iowa and Northwestern). With that said, we have generally been a very consistent team over the past couple years, so I expect to go into the B1G title game with one loss and a likely CFP berth if we win the conference championship.
  22. Step 1: Hire a decent coach - check Step 2: Sign LeBron Step 3: Win a championship
  23. Based on play alone I'd rather see Delly starting than Bledsoe right now. Bledsoe hasn't done much of anything positive for us this series. Whereas Delly at least brings energy on both ends and gets under the Celtics skin as a defender, whIle not shooting too much or making bone headed turnovers at the rate Bledsoe has been. But I'd be worried Bledsoe would make a scene of that and potentially cause chemistry issues. I will admit though I haven't watched the team too closely most of the year and am not sure how many minutes Delly could handle coming off his injury. It seems like we need to hope for Giannis to have another strong game, Middleton to stay hot, someone to step up and make some shots (Snell, Thon, etc), but most importantly play good D (including rebounding) and take care of the ball. Turn the ball over or get out rebounded by a ridiculous margin and we don't have much chance. We need to bring the same level of intensity and focus that we brought at home and we'll be in good shape.
  24. I don't care that he said it. I was making the social media point and saying how dumb some of these people are. Why post that kind of stuff on social media? Or some of these people that post these videos of themselves saying some really asinine stuff. Then it's always the same...Sorry? Well, of course you're sorry because ya look foolish. Yup, I wasn't necessarily responding to or talking about you directly. We both agree that social media is a trap that people foolishly continue to fall into.
