  1. I fully intend on dropping off about 50 old common Brewers bobbles (and maybe some Bucks too) at Goodwill sometime in the near future, if they even want them. I thought about posting them for sale here or elsewhere, but I have better things to do with my time than try to arrange a sale of a Jeff Suppan bobblehead for $5. I'm keeping some of the bobbles of the better players and guys who didn't fall into the "overrated/bust/never should've had a bobble in the first place" crowd, but I'm ditching most of them.
  2. By the way, three of the four tickets sold on Stubhub already, so my offer is off the table (unless someone wants to offer me closer to market value for a single ticket for the Lions game).
  3. I put my name on the single-seat waiting list in 2008, since that was basically my only shot at getting season tickets before I die (given that the general ticket waiting list is like 100k long and my dad is still over 25k back). My name came up this year. You can put in a request for more than one single seat, and if you get lucky, your seats may be very close together or even back-to-back (I didn't get quite that lucky but can't complain too much). In any case, I figured I'd try out the tickets for a year and see how it goes having two seats that aren't right next to each other. As it turns out I'll only be attending one of the three Gold package games in those seats though (can't go to the Eagles game, and going to the Lions game already with a group of friends).
  4. I recommend the dry erase method.
  5. I have two tickets to the regular season game against the Lions and two tickets to the preseason game against the Eagles. The seats are not right next to each other - I have one ticket in Section 102 row 14 and one ticket in Section 102 row 16, with both seats having the same seat number (i.e., the seats are almost back-to-back, just with one row in between them). The seats are the same for both games. I am offering all four tickets (two to each game) as a complete set for the face value of $80 each. Please let me know if you're interested by calling or texting at 262-893-0904. The tickets are currently also listed on Stubhub, so act fast!
  6. These calls were good, mostly because of the moments they described:
  7. One of the things that's weird to me in Milwaukee with the concurrent numbering is if you want to travel between the Hale interchange and downtown (in either direction), there are two main freeway routes, but both could be described the same way. For example, traveling from the Hale to downtown, I would take "894 to 94". That could easily mean either north on 894 and east on 94, or east on 894 and then north on 94. I usually get around the issue by calling the latter route "43"
  8. I also liked the manager arguments (and how umpires might toss/not toss you depending on your manager's reputation for arguing) in MVP Baseball 2005. I would go out and argue calls just for the heck of it early in the season, and eventually if I just tapped the argue button (i.e., minimal argument/asking for an explanation, as opposed to hitting the button repeatedly for a full throttle argument), I'd basically get my manager an automatic ejection. Whereas a manager who rarely argued could sometimes go out for a heated argument and not get tossed (and the game commentators would mention how effective the argument was if you did that).
  9. Fixed that for you.
  10. Matty's in New Berlin - food is decent and they have an awesome outdoor patio (including shaded and unshaded areas, a giant outdoor TV, and a nice fire pit)
  11. I never grew up listening to country music and didn't really like it as a kid (probably because my parents never listened to it). Within the past few years though, I have begun listening to "country" and really appreciate it. Partially because it's generally more wholesome than some of the stuff out there that you hear...
  12. Prices updated to reflect actual face value for the tickets (it was lower than I thought since I bought them as all-session tickets)
  13. They're not using electronic transfer for this year's tournament evidently. I couldn't print the tickets myself, nor can I transfer them electronically using ticketmaster (where I bought them) or Stubhub.
  14. I have two tickets available that I am looking to sell for each of the following sessions: Session 1 - Wednesday, March 11th, 3:30pm (2 games) - $15 per ticket (face value). All tickets are general admission, so you can sit anywhere. Session 2 - Thursday, March 12th, 11:00am (2 games) - $15 per ticket (face value). Section 330, Row 13. Session 3 - Thursday, March 12th, 5:30pm (2 games) - $15 per ticket (face value). Section 330, Row 13. Session 7 - Sunday, March 15th, 2:30pm (Championship game) - $45 per ticket (face value). Section 330, Row 13. Let me know if you're interested in any of these by calling or texting at 262 893 0904. Prices are negotiable (I'll cut a deal if you buy multiple sessions). For payment/pickup, we can either do payment by Paypal and I'll mail the tickets, or we can meet if you're in the Milwaukee area and willing to pick up the tickets in Brookfield or Greenfield (or possibly somewhere in between).
  15. For what it's worth, Diamond Stone signed a Wisconsin Badgers item for me in December. So he better go with Wisconsin now!!
  16. I don't think that situation would happen anyways, because a manager would be smart enough to figure out that his LOOGY would have to face some unfavorable match-ups if brought into the game. (And if he can't figure that out, he probably deserves to lose.) As others have said, this rule would force teams to re-evaluate the value of a righty or lefty specialist in the first place.
  17. If you hate it, just park on the street. It's generally pretty easy to do for most big sporting events that take place in the state of Wisconsin, if you're willing to walk half a mile to a mile.
  18. This somewhat corresponds to something that I heard (which I dismissed as a crazy rumor at the time, but the more I hear, the more I think it may have some merit). I heard that Tanner McEvoy slept with and/or "stole" someone else's girlfriend (Alex Erickson, I want to say). I heard that Gordon said something at halftime of that LSU game, which resulted in Gordon sitting for the 2nd half.
  19. Correct, he's a lineman. Yeah, I think I got in on the game too late for the 1/1 cards. I did see one on ebay about a year ago, but the price was $250 which is way more than I was willing to spend (especially when part of the reason I started collecting his cards is because they're usually really cheap). I have gotten a couple 1/5 cards for around $20 each but I'm guessing that's about the rarest card I'll ever get.
  20. I am looking for football cards of the Badgers from 2010 and 2011. I am referring to the perforated cards that they send out with season tickets and hand out at games and elsewhere. I am specifically looking for a card from each year of Kevin Zeitler. I am willing to pay a modest amount, or else for trade I have a couple of the 2010 cards that Kevin signed for me.
  21. I am collecting cards of Kevin Zeitler (a former Badger and current Cincinnati Bengal who grew up in Waukesha). I'll see if I can post scans sometime soon. I am currently at 76 down and 101 to go by my count to get all of his cards, but a bunch of those 101 are cards numbered 1/1 so there's a good chance I'll never come across those.
  22. I have a follow-up question. According to what I'm looking at, some cards have a separate "retail" version. Is there an easy way to tell the difference between a "hobby" version and a "retail" version of a given card? Some identifying information somewhere on the back of the card maybe?
  23. I can completely understand how someone who is already drunk (especially a man) would think some combination of the following, regardless of the cost of a cab: 1. I can make it home myself 2. I won't get caught 3. I don't want to deal with the hassle of having to come back to get my car tomorrow Of course, absent from this list is any rational weighing of these thoughts with the potential severity of the consequences of attempting to drive home.
  24. The first three games are gone. The Buffalo game is still available.
  25. I went on one as a kid. I think it was 3 nights and went to the Bahamas (Nassau and also a private Disney island I think). I remember there being organized kids programs where the adults could have time to themselves (and I remember the programs being lots of fun).
