  1. I have two tickets that I'm looking to get rid of for each of the following Wisconsin men's basketball games. The tickets are all in Section 328 Row B, behind the basket in the third level but in the 2nd row (on the end opposite the student section). Face value is $24 per ticket. Friday 11/14/14 8:00pm vs Northern Kentucky (pre-game Final Four celebration) - $10 per ticket Sunday 11/16/14 12:00pm vs Chattanooga - $5 per ticket Wednesday 11/19/14 8:00pm vs UW Green Bay - $15 per ticket Sunday 12/28/14 time TBA vs Buffalo - $20 per ticket I am open to offers as well, especially if you are interested in multiple games. If you want to pay via Paypal (and include a slight upcharge to cover Paypal fees), I can forward the tickets via email. Otherwise, I am located in the Milwaukee area and also will be attending the final two home Badger football games, and I would be willing to meet to exchange tickets for cash if it's worthwhile (e.g., I don't want to go too far out of my way to sell you two tickets for $5 each). If interested, PM me on here or text me at 262-893-0904. Thanks for looking.
  2. For a cold, last time I took a combo of meds that helped a lot more than the Dayquil/Nyquil generics I used to take. Here is the daily schedule that I followed: - 24 hour generic allegra first thing in the morning - one dose of pseudophedrine (the kind you have to show an ID for) every 4-6 hours starting first thing in the morning as needed to relieve sinuses - one dose of Wal-tussin DM (generic Robitussin DM) every 4-6 hours starting first thing in the morning as needed to relieve cough - one dose of Benadryl right before bed (technically not supposed to take with the 24 hour allegra but I did for a couple days)
  3. Step 1: Throw enough money at someone in the Cardinals' organization to get them to come be the scouting director in Milwaukee. Step 2: ???? Step 3: Profit!
  4. If it were 1-2 tickets that you needed, I'd tell you to work the parking lot / nearby streets on gameday until you find some random fan who will sell their extra ticket(s) for below the secondary market prices. However, that does take time and effort (and you'd have to find the person before the scalpers do), and it is probably not feasible needing four tickets together. Unless you know someone with 4 tickets they can't use, it will be tough to find tickets for a more reasonable price unless the Packers tank (like last year when Rodgers got hurt). Therefore the best advice I have is to continue asking around. Good luck.
  5. Kansas City hasn't lost a playoff game in almost 30 years. That is domination!
  6. I feel as though I noticed a marked increase in the number of balls going into the stands shortly after Attanasio took over. The batboy now gives away basically every foul ball he retrieves, but I remember going to a game in the early 2000's and sitting 2nd row between the dugout and home plate, and the batboy gave away about 4 balls all game.
  7. With drunk driving there is the stigma, but in my experience people's biggest concern with drunk driving is still getting caught. When in reality, if you do drive drunk then getting caught might be the single best outcome.
  8. My wife doesn't want to use poison because she is worried that even if we keep the poison in a place not accessible to our dog, our dog may find a dead mouse, eat it, and become poisoned. Does anyone know the science behind it and can comment on whether that is a legitimate concern?
  9. The tickets are in Section 126 row 2 for Sunday's game against the Cubs. I am asking $32 each which is the season ticket holder rate that I paid (face value is $42), but I am open to offers at this point. These are great seats down the left field line right by the edge of the tarp by the ballboy/ball girl (so a pretty good chance of going home with a baseball especially if you bring kids). If interested, please call or text me at 262-893-0904. Thanks.
  10. JackNicholson, Are those the traps that keep the mouse alive and you have to go release it somewhere? This summer I discovered an area where mice either live or regularly come into my house. It is in the basement right beneath the back door of my house. There is a little cubby hole type area (raised off the floor) beneath it where I have since set up a bunch of snap traps (currently have about 12 down there) with which I have caught about 25 mice in the past 2+ months. I have done a little reading to try to determine the best way to get rid of them and was also considering taking out a little bit of our deck to see if it's obvious where they're entering. I have also considered calling a professional but haven't gone that route yet since they're not really a bother (I have never seen them anywhere except the little cubby hole in the basement).
  11. I think that for the most part I agree with you HiAndTight. I wasn't trying to argue that metal detectors are pointless. I do however believe that metal detectors are likely to do more in the way of appearances than actual prevention (partially because there are a variety of ways around them if someone plans ahead). At the end of the day though someone who researched the issue a lot more than me made the decision to implement metal detectors.
  12. Patrick, when did you enter the stadium and at what entrance? A couple articles I read stated that the game started late due to the lines to get in. I don't recall that ever happening before. A couple pictures I saw showed some pretty long lines. Granted, once a line starts forming people seem to just get into it without considering alternatives, but still...
  13. If someone wanted to perform an act of terror, they could also do something to the masses of people waiting in line to go through the metal detectors and into the stadium. I personally don't think metal detectors will do a whole lot to prevent tragic events. There are also countless ways into the stadium that are not ticketed entrances where someone could easily enter or pass off a weapon to someone who has already entered (e.g., the outside area by Friday's, doors that are exit only, etc) IMO, about the most the metal detectors will actually do is prevent someone from somehow walking into the stadium with a weapon they didn't intend to use and unleashing it (if the weapon is something they carry on their body that wouldn't be discovered during a bag search but is discovered by a metal detector). Metal detectors also give the impression of beefed up security which may scare away someone who wants to do something, but you could also argue that they place a "target on the back" of MLB events (if it makes a terrorist realize that MLB events are "important" enough events to Americans to use metal detectors).
  14. I went into the game about the time it was starting last night. No lines at the outfield entrances but there were lines by the club and home plate entrances. Bags were checked like normal, and then the bags and anything metal in your pockets did not go through the metal detector. The metal detectors were the full ones like they have at the airport. I had wondered if they'd just be using the wand like I've seen at NFL and NBA games before, but it is the full stand-up metal detector that you have to walk through. After going through the metal detector, you get your ticket scanned, but there were no turnstiles to go through on Thursday. On Saturday I'd expect that there will be long lines everywhere as there usually are for the giveaways. The big difference though is that it's a Saturday night instead of a Sunday afternoon. So there will probably be more party-ers and fewer families (so more people heading in after first pitch). There will also probably be more people getting there early since it's generally easier to arrive early for a Saturday night game than a Sunday afternoon game.
  15. Here's to hoping that third surgery option might actually work out.
  16. My guess is that most owners "meddle" to some extent at least. It would be hard not to when you have that big of a financial investment in the club.
  17. General lack of understanding of the difference between "CST" and "CDT", "EST" and "EDT", etc. You can generally figure out what people mean even when they use the incorrect acronym, but it just bothers me that many people don't seem to understand the distinction. I don't remember ever learning the distinction in school so maybe that is part of the problem.
  18. Yes, it's time that for once we take over the Cardinals' role of sneaking in as a wild card and going on a deep postseason run.
  19. We have no idea what specifically was discussed. I think fans get a lot more excited about these kinds of meetings than players do, and then there is always all sorts of speculation about it, questions in the timing, etc. They had a meeting. Now let's hope they can win a few this week.
  20. Every other thread on this board is for "pessimism" or "realism" or whatever you want to call it. Optimism only in this thread! Go Brewers!
  21. One game at a time. The win streak started tonight. Let's keep it going tomorrow!
  22. Just the spark we need. This is our time! Unless they overturn it on replay...
  23. First, by making contact on a slide Lucroy risks injury to himself as well as the opponent.... and there's still no guarantee he'll be safe. So even if he did have ample time (instead of just a split second) to consider the pros and cons of making contact vs not, it would be hard for me to fault him. Second, I don't really care how long they take to head out to the field or whether they run. In all sports there are certain things that high school / college coaches may insist on that just don't get a second thought in the pros. There is a long list of things to be unhappy about with regard to the Brewers' performance as of late. But Lucroy's comments are not even close to being on that list IMO.
  24. Plenty of time to turn things around. We are just having our late season meltdown a little earlier than in 2008. Speaking of 2008, we clinched a playoff spot on Sunday, Sept 28 by beating the Cubs at home. This year on Sunday, Sept 28 we once again host the Cubs. Coincidence?
  25. That is an interesting angle on the game. Not only is it a matchup of two teams in the top 5/10, a potential key game for tournament seeding, a possible Elite Eight/Final Four preview, etc, but it could also have an impact on whether UW lands its most talented recruit in a long time.
