    My great uncle gave me a Sheffield Rookie Card (I know there are a lot of haters, but I always liked him) when I was about 8-9. One of my fondest memories of him, he used to own a baseball card shop, my mom would drop me off while she ran errands, so when I went to visit him, he would always tell me the stories behind the card. Said Sheffield would be a great player, so I followed him. The strike kind of turned me off of baseball for a bit, but now I'm back in action. Being from Wisconsin, being a fan of the Crew is in the blood.

    This is pretty common in most sports. The Football team pays all non-conference teams to come to camp Randall (Unless there is a contract to go play at their place), B-ball pays for some teams to come to Kohl, etc.

    Heading down to Spring Training this year, and I was just wondering if tickets are readily available in AZ, or should I pick them up before we go? Any advice on other things to do/see would be greatly appreciated also. Thanks

    I have a 2007 Mazda 6. Really solid car, and I get anywhere from 28-30 mpg. I only have the 4 cylinder, but it has plenty of power. Actually trying to sell it, and I'm looking to get $14,750, if that gives you a gauge on what that size of a car would cost. Fun to drive, lots of room in it, and it rides pretty good. This is actually my second one. If you buy a car that is a year old, or even a end of model year, you can usually get a better price.

    It might kill you in China, but the way that pork is raised here, has actually gotten very sanitary, and they say that you can eat pork cooked to medium temp, a little pink in the middle.

    If you defrost them in the fridge, it will probably take about 2-3 days, but it is the safest way. Next would be to put the whole pack in a container and continuously run COLD water on it, so that there is an overflow of water. This is how we do quick thaws in all of the restraunts that I've worked in. The duck should be ok, was it cool in the morning when you put it in the fridge, or was it room temp? If it was room temp, I'd probably throw it. if it was still cool, I would be cautous to check for a strange odor.

    Where do you guys normally stay down there? Going to ST for the first time this year. Heard that Scottsdale is the place to be. Any thoughts?

    Here's another question about the atmosphere at the Badger Hockey games. I don't know how many of you guys got to see games at the coliseum, but if you did, which venue do you prefer? I miss how rowdy the coliseum used to get. I don't know if it just seemed that way because it was so much smaller, but I remember that place just shaking back in the day.

    Are they doing a lot of games on FSN this year, or are they just replaying them on WPT late night?

    I think that he is horrible. There has to be someone better on the bench. A far cry from the goalies of the past. I remember when all we had were stud goalies. Derkson, Carey, Cujo. I think that it might just be a tough couple of years coming up. As they were saying earlier, a double edged sword with getting top recruits.

    Well, I finally decided to check into quiting my contract with AT&T. The service is really getting on my nerve. My question is does anyone have AlTell, or Verizon. I live about 30 minutes north of Madison. I need a service that gets pretty good reception in buildings (If that is possible), a nationwide plan, and internet, so I can check my e-mails during work. Any info that you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Since when is the Greek System supervised by a UW Faculty Member in all aspects of there activities? Don't you think that these actions were a slap in the face of the entire University? If they could have pinpointed the individuals responsible, I have no problem with just punishing them. But, when no one says anything then you have to punish the group. Was Gulikson on a school sponsored activity? I didn't think so. I understand that kids will be kids, but they are also adults, grow up and start acting like it. Although they do not get scholarships, etc., they do get free transportation to the road games, and free admission. To me, that is some sort of payment. If I did something like this at my job, I would be fired in an instant, and if I was a part of a group that did this, I'm pretty sure we would all be fired. Don't you feel that you have a fairly skewed view of the incident since you are a member of the band?

    If seeing the band is the highlight of the game for the fans, then the program has problems.

    Where do you draw the line then? Who's going to take responsibility for this? I understand that the band is a huge part of the Badger Football experience. I would hope that these drunken little clown's would be able to realize what they do does not only represent them, but the entire university. They have gotten away with stuff like this for far too long, and maybe by punishing everyone, it will force the group to not only watch out for themselves, but what the others do also. I think that this is a huge embarasement to the University. This thing also happened last year, but it was forgotten quickly when the whole Lance Smith beating on his girlfriend story broke shortly after. I know that Lacrone is considered a god around here, but by being the head of a department like that, he needs to take some responsibility. I hope that some of his assistant, or possibly himself would be fired.

    If they have the money to do that, do you see them possibly making a run at CC if they trade Cain? The hometown boy, and they have the money.

    I don't think that you can trade Escobar. As much as I like Hardy, I think that Escobar will be a better SS in the field, and more potential to be a good leadoff hitter

    Do you think it might be possible to work something out for maybe Prince, and Gwynn, rather than possibly going after Cain. I think that I'd like Peavy a little better.

    Totally agree with Blancofan too. Give them a break if it happens, they deserve it
