  1. I honestly think SF/LAR/AZ are going to be similar opponents. I just want to play Saturday.
  2. And at 23-16 a TD and PAT no longer wins it. I guess I don't what the book says but my first instinct on going for 2 when a PAT puts you down 6 is that it would be a crazy and overthinking thing to do. That's what I said. Personally I'd want to leave myself the margin for error of them getting a FG. If the worst case is being down 7 I'm fine with that but I'm more aggressive than most.
  3. Guess the PAT is fine but at 23-18 you can give up a FG and it remains one possession. If you miss, you can still go to OT with a TD but yeah, you give up winning with 2 TDs. I think you can go either way but I'd go for 2 personally.
  4. FG looks way better if they can get 6 here. I'd assume they'd go for 2 here.
  5. Me too, but I don't have a huge issue with the FG. It's not a ton different than what MLF did in the NFCCG last year, honestly. What MLF did was worse but I also don't really really hate it here.
  6. I sort of get the FG but I'd absolutely have gone for it. You'll probably have time for two more possessions and it removes the necessity of converting two 2pts. Technically you can still surrender a FG at some point and still go to OT. Don't think it's going to matter at all. Not what I'd have done but I can see the thinking.
  7. I'm so glad McCarthy isn't our coach.
  8. Seemed like obvious fake situation so I don't know what SF was doing.
  9. Every time I look up it feels like Dallas is getting sacked, nailed at the line of scrimmage or giving up a huge pass play.
  10. This game is over. I thought Dallas was a fraud since midseason but I think SF may be pretty tough. I hope everyone is right and we at least play Saturday.
  11. I think Dallas can still win this game but it has such a McCarthy vibe to it. I got so sick of this kind of performance as a Packers fan. As far as matchups go I really don't think it matters who the Packers get next weekend but I would strongly prefer a game on Saturday.
  12. Oh, I'm not crowning anyone. I just thought going in this was a GB-TB conference and now I'm pretty sure it is. And I think the likely BUF-KC game is the AFC championship.
  13. Tampa is going to end up in Lambeau again and I don't think it's going to be very fun.
  14. Can't believe Tampa even sent Wirfs on the field again. Guy can barely walk. What on Earth.
  15. I thought Philly would at least make this interesting for 2.5 quarters but yikes.
  16. Bengals had a good finish. I think Dallas and Monday night should be good. Tonight probably awful.
  17. These things tend to go in cycles for whatever reason. AFC won 9 of 11 SBs from 1971-81. NFC won 15 of 16 SBs from 1982-97. AFC won 9 of 12 SBs from 1998-2009. Last 12 SBs have been an even NFC/AFC spli with parity's ascent. I can't speak to the other eras but most Super Bowls during my conscious lifetime have been really good. That 82-97 stretch had a looooot of stinkers. Before that I'm not very knowledgeable. But that NFC dominance stretch wasn't just about winning, it was a lot of 20, 30, and even 40 point wins.
  18. Perhaps I'm just being hopeful but Tampa might be in trouble with the condition of their roster. I'm picking them to win, I think it's close most of the way but they pull away in the 4th. I'm starting to think SF is going to win though.
  19. Montana in Super Bowl 24 is the best. The Broncos had the #1 ranked scoring defense that season. The AFC was the Minor Leagues for about 20 years until the Packers lost to Denver.
  20. My fear is that the Packers will play next Sunday and their NFCCG opponent I’ll play next Saturday. I think you're way putting way too much stock into this. This probably happens to some team almost every year.
  21. Then why is the Steelers/Chiefs the SNF? That's an awful game. Probably among the two worst of the weekend. The Steelers are about as poor as you can get for a playoff team. Steelers are a massive viewing audience, probably behind only Dallas and maybe the Packers. I am a little surprised SNF isn't Dallas/SF though. I could be wrong but I think the Networks have to be appeased, too. As in, it's in the contracts that you can't stick NBC with Bengals Raiders and Rams Cards; I think they have to share the wealth between the networks.
  22. Every voter sees it differently. You don’t think some have buyer’s remorse after last year? No. Rodgers put up ridiculous numbers last year. I don't know why they'd have "remorse" anyway. It's not an award for most valuable Super Bowl champion.
  23. Those are definitely my less confident picks, but I don't have a ton of faith in the Raiders either. Burrow is really good, I'm basically picking Cincy because of him and they're at home. NE over Buffalo wouldn't shock me at all. That game's a toss-up to me, just not one where I see a blowout though. I have no read at all on DAL/SF. If I had to pick one, I'd pick Dallas, but I don't think they are long for these playoffs. I'd love for SF to win though. I will say though, I know nothing about the Chargers OL, but seeing the way LAV abused them, that does not bode well at all for Cincy.
  24. That (DAL/SF) is the real toss-up game of the weekend for me where I can see a blowout either way or a very good game. KC is going to destroy Pitt Tampa is going to win I like the Bengals but that one is certainly up for grabs, should be somewhat good I think Rams stomp Cards I like Buffalo, should be a good one too
  25. Voting Brady for MVP is nothing less than consciously or subconsciously doing it because Tampa won the Super Bowl last year and that was wildly impressive given that most people thought he was done being a great QB. But the fact is simply that Rodgers had an even better year last season, and it was obvious because he had volume stats. It's closer this year because a) Brady won last season and b) efficiency stats are not as sexy. But Rodgers was, again, better, in everything except volume yards and TDs. People have said a lot that Rodgers would be even more revered if he didn't play during Brady era. Well, Brady would have two more league MVPs if he didn't play with Rodgers the last two seasons. He's been great, but Rodgers has been scorching the Earth.
