  1. And even this would be ridiculous. Until very recently having the vaccine was highly unlikely to save anybody who got Covid from missing a game. There are a million vaccinated players who missed time.
  2. Skipping mini camp is a giant LOL for me.
  3. Not to mention Favre's recent issues, but I digress ... My biggest problem with this article isn't him not voting for Rodgers, it's not weighing the off the field stuff. I honestly don't have an issue with either of those things. It's the fact that the language used makes it very apparent that this was written with the express purpose of Hub making Hub the story. If he had written a measured piece that had forgone the hyperbolic language and simply said something like "In a year of great performances and several worthy candidates, it is impossible not to consider the totality of Rodgers' year when deciding who I choose to single out and celebrate with my vote, therefore I will be voting for (insert Taylor or Kupp here)" it probably wouldn't have caused such a ruckus. I do think the way the NFL does the MVP voting (pick one rather than a ranked list like baseball) works to Rodgers' advantage, but I expect all four of the main candidates to get at least five votes. If you actually say who you are voting for before it is announced I am pretty sure you are barred from future voting. My issue is precisely what I guess yours isn't. His vaccination status/"I'm immunized" playing a role in MVP is absurd. Especially when a bunch of vaccinated players have missed time. He got Covid and missed a game, big whoop. You could argue it makes it even more impressive they are the top seed. I mean realistically, the Packers lost one game this year outside of that Week 1 anomaly.
  4. Rodgers may be a lot of things, some of those things annoying. But in a league that's been marred by drunk driving, DUI manslaughter and domestic violence, I have a hard time with calling Rodgers the biggest jerk in the league or even a bad guy. He's sensitive and smug. Neither of those make him a bad guy.
  5. I read that article last night. Sounded like a very long-winded way of saying "My feelings were hurt when he said he owned the Bears." Personally I'm OK if he doesn't win. Tick him off for next season when he's hopefully still playing here.
  6. The Cowboys are a joke. I was a believer but after watching them continuously play down to opponents and seeing McCarthy still mismanage games I think they would be a fluff for GB. Tampa is injured enough that it's a possibility but I would still like their chances. I see Dallas as ripe for losing in the first round. The Rams are a better team but I personally think Stafford has proven time and time again that he'll turn the ball over.
  7. I don't see Tampa losing to anyone but GB if at all. I just cannot see Stafford beating them in a playoff game, he is a near-lock for at least one catastrophic pick. I don't believe anyone else is as good. I feel like we're destined for TB-GB again.
  8. The lower seeds in the NBA are usually terrible teams, the result of 50%+ making it. I honestly don't think home field is anything significant in the NFL playoffs, and it seems less significant than it was when I grew up with the game in the 90s. With the change made last season, #1 does feel extremely significant as you obviously get a week in which you can't lose, and nobody else does.
  9. I thought this last year. They have to actually do it at this point before I believe they will. I'm fully prepared for them to lose at home to Dallas 29-10 in the 2nd round because Packers.
  10. I know it's a bit far out yet but some people here always seem to know...is there any way to gauge when the Packers most likely play on that 2nd weekend? Is it traditionally the Saturday afternoon game?
  11. One has to wonder if David Bakhtiari is even worth playing at this point with how well the rest of the group has played. He hasn't played in a year and we're going to toss him into the divisional game for his first snap?
  12. Probably the most overrated "great QB" of our generation but that'll happen when you play in 3 Super Bowls.
  13. Who is claiming to know what's going to happen re: Super Bowl? I don't think I've seen a single person actually say GB will be in the Super Bowl? Or do you mean MVP? I don't see any QB with a chance besides Rodgers and Brady. In every sport besides sometimes baseball, you pretty much need an established track record of at least being good to get MVP. Stafford, Burrow, Herbert are not winning it. They weren't good enough. Brady has a lot of pull, he could get it, just based on what he achieved last year. Obviously still really good, but the way Tampa kinda limped at the end and GB pulled away with #1, plus all that Rodgers overcame...I think he'll get it. I don't think it's particularly close in the end, but Brady is the only guy that I think has a chance.
  14. We'd crush the Rams again. Bring them on. It's Tampa, any other answer is just getting cute IMO. Nobody wants to play Brady again. If he gets bounced before playing GB, the Packers blew this on an epic level.
  15. I think you missed the part where I said if he threw 5 less he would be the MVP. Same with Burrow if he has 5 less of INT's he would be in the MVP discussion also. Burrow would probably have a better rating than Rodgers, Burrow is currently at 108.3 with those INT's so without those INT's he would be putting up a better year than Rodgers. Burrow also only has 7 more attempts than Rodgers and has almost 700 more passing yards. Yeah Rodgers is the MVP when someone who has throw 14 INT's this year is almost at the same rating as him. Rodgers isn't even the best QB this year. No. I didn't miss that part. The point is that he did throw 5 more INTs. That's not something you can just toss out like it's not a big deal. It's a huge deal, especially when Rodgers threw a whopping 10 fewer. An INT is a lot more "bad" than a single TD is "good," if that makes sense. It's a useless hypothetical to throw out there because his job is throwing the ball and he threw it to the other team too much. Somehow Rodgers still doesn't get the kind of praise he should for being so turnover-averse. He does a bunch of things really well obviously, but throwing 2-5 interceptions a year is a huge reason the Packers win so much. If you're a stat junkie for yards and TD passes, I guess Rodgers isn't the best QB this year. But he has overcome a ton of injuries. I don't think any other QB could have beat Arizona the week Rodgers did it with the guys he had playing that night. So...in my opinion, Rodgers is in fact the best QB this year, and was last year as well. Stafford has always been a "good" QB for example, but his sloppiness will keep him from ever winning a Super Bowl. He's still the same guy that wildly chucks it too much; that was a bunch of those guys were pretty TD numbers are. A sniper who misses a bunch of shots and gives up his location isn't all that great of a sniper...that's what decent QBs who throw a bunch of picks are. And I'd add that the definition of a "bunch" has changed drastically. In the 90s you could win MVP with a 35/16 split or something. Teams really don't tolerate consistent 15+ picks these days
  16. Meh. This reminded of the Josh Hader Tweets. A thing that everyone thought would have long-term ramifications where in reality everyone stopped caring two weeks later.
  17. If he is the MVP he would be the least deserving of it in a long time. His stats this year are not MVP level for a QB. The TD's are not there and the passing yards are not either. If Herbet threw 5 less INT's he would be walking away with the MVP award. JT should be the MVP without a doubt. There really isn't a QB this year who is putting up MVP numbers. INTs are a big, big deal. It's the most influential play in a game. Throwing 14+ of them en route to going 9-7 is not MVP football in the pass-happy era.
  18. Sorry Turbo. I realize what forum we're on, but no impartial observer, particularly one who's watched both play a good amount, could really believe Brady has been better than Rodgers this season. I appreciate your admittance that you're not impartial, though. This is, imo, Rodgers's most impressive season with the number of A-listers the Packers have lost, some for very long chunks of the season. Rodgers is down the best LT in football, an all-pro guard, an emerging star TE, a bunch of other peripheral guys and won a road game in AZ without Adams. They essentially have no WR2 when healthy. And that's not even getting to the defense. I would vote for Taylor if I had a vote. But Rodgers is the best QB in the league this season, again. As such, I anticipate him winning MVP with how GB finished the season.
  19. I'm a huge fan of sausage in general (and strongly recommend checking out Bavaria Sausage Inc. in Fitchburg or online) so I agree it is better than pepperoni. I'm not a vegetarian or anything. I just always want to enjoy the crust, sauce and cheese on a pizza and think meat often overtakes those elements. To me the sauce on a pizza is 3/4 of the battle.
  20. I'll eat and I think it's fine, but I feel like a rare person that actually would prefer no meat on a pizza. I'd rather just have mushrooms and diced tomatoes or something. On a good pizza I always feel like it overwhelms the flavor.
  21. I was really hoping Dallas would lose so this would get wrapped up. I would like to see Jordan Love play again and that seems like the decision you have to make. Though I assume Adams won't play either, and he shouldn't.
  22. I must be the only guy in the world that has no issue with Buck, Collinsworth or Aikman.
  23. I was buying these a lot last year but found that I eventually got kind of sick of it. If someone wants a frozen pizza that's different, more bready, it's a good change of pace. I'd agree they're good, but not one that I can have routinely like a Jack's.
  24. Their defense is better this season than in either of the previous two, I don't know if the stats agree but just watching them, it is. And they are still missing guys. At this point I'm not sure what those guys can be expected to provide but I'm still hoping it's some kind of spark. They give up big yards more than you'd like to see, but 1) They can bull rush. 2) They force turnovers 3) They usually can close out the game when needed. I feel good about the Packers. But of course, still expecting that gut punch.
  25. Green was my favorite Packer of all time. Just an absolute beast in his prime. He had such a rare combo of speed and power. He has a 2-3 year window where it sometimes took 3 guys to bring him down. I remember a play in Minnesota where he has hit for a multiple yard loss, flipped a guy off his back, then ran across the field to the other sideline and turned it into a big gain. I loved him.
