  1. This is far beyond the stomp or a normal cheap shot late spear tackle. You could legitimately kill a person hitting them in the head with a helmet like that. I don't see any way there is less than he's out for the year. His teammates are distancing themselves from him in every interview.
  2. I think they're going to come down extremely hard on him. I don't think he's playing again this season. Dude swung a helmet and made contact with a guy's unprotected head. They can't play the head protection game and then let him off even remotely easy. Everyone saw it on national television, not like we are reading a police report.
  3. I accept that reality of him missing time making it unrealistic, but if the other guy in the race wasn't as good as Bellinger, Yelich wins it running away over any of those guys, 130 games be damned.
  4. The community should be up in arms because helmet to flesh is a bit different and it took place WELL after a play. I need to see it again though. A bunch of people are saying Rudolph's hands got stuck in the helmet, but it sure looked when I first watched that he was clearly trying to rip it off. Which is insane, anyone ever seen Myles Garrett? Of all the guys to screw with...
  5. I agree with you. It's not a big injustice. But I do think he was the MVP. It was a pretty close vote. Results reflected the debate.
  6. Pouncey did more damange to his suspension with those kicks to the head than the swings. I think he would've gotten a game otherwise Jack is crazy. He shouldn't play another game this year. Rudolph should get it too. Certainly looked like he was trying to yank a helmet off.
  7. The farther away we got from the season, the more I felt like Yelich should have won it. I just genuinely feel like he was the best player. The injury made it very unlikely, but I still feel like he was.
  8. It's $136 because I confirmed via the team you have to buy a pair of seats to get it. If your plan is to sell the package, that is honestly probably better. It will be a lot easier to do that than sell 1 seat.
  9. Netflix had a bad financial report over the summer that showed the stagnated growth, and the stock has slipped since then. Disney+ was announced pretty close to a year ago to the day, I believe. I don't think the price is at such a point yet where people are picking on or the other, but if families are making that call they will pick Disney, obviously.
  10. I'm not clear on what that portion meant. I first read it as if you buy two tickets, you get one bobblehead. But now that you said that, it really could mean either one. They also max it at 2 bobbleheads per 4 seats...if you buy 10 seats you still just get 2. It's obviously an attempt at stopping re-sale but I would be kinda surprised if a solo buyer doesn't get a bobblehead.
  11. "No fee unless we win" is just a marketing ploy used by guys like Gruber because they settle 99.9% of cases out of court. They take the case knowing an insurance company will settle and ta-da, you "won."
  12. I'm never running more than one TV at a time. If my wife wants to watch something I hate I just read a book or work out. My only use for streaming, most of the time, is Friday and Saturday night for 2-3 hours after kids go to sleep, and the kids programming at random times. I have an 80" TV in the basement that has been turned on probably once in the last 6 months. I still just use the small living room one out of habit, even for Packers games and everything.
  13. At $68 that is likely...I have an email out to my rep, sometimes he's able to work stuff out with me, pay less and he ships one out or something. Not expecting it but he does always try.
  14. I got an email today they are giving out Elf (the movie) Brewers bobbleheads with 4-packs. I don't like the movie but as a collector this stuff drives me nuts. Being a SSH isn't enough? They have to add more crap like this?
  15. You can still have a Netflix account for $8.99, it just isn't broadcast in 4k. That is not really worth it at all to me, so I am still on that one. I haven't had a live TV subscription for years. Once we're into $10+ I just lose interest. When I see people happy about $50 for YouTube, that's just far above what I'd ever consider. I had Sling for $25 a few months and just never used it enough to justify it.
  16. I'm not so sure it will be that fast. People are extremely sensitive to price increases, even $1. Netflix had a lot of backlash when they did it, and existing subscribers were grandfathered in incredibly slowly. The one they announced in 2015 didn't hit my account until earlier this year. Plus they offered 3-yr contracts so if anyone got those they're paying the $3.90 rate for at least that long. There are still a lot of unanswered questions. A ton of people are getting it "free" right now (laughable with the prices those carriers charge) with Verizon, and the 10 million subscribers included those who signed up for free trials. Netflix has nowhere to funnel business. While I think the price will obviously increase over time, they have much less incentive to do so with their movies grossing $1B and their theme parks booming. Disney could simply look at the streaming service as a means of hooking every household on to Disney which is more valuable to them than streaming revenue alone. Imagine some series about the "magic" of a Disney vacation, where they take you behind the scenes, etc...I just wouldn't be surprised if they undercut everyone for an extended period of time simply because they can. Not sure they need to risk a price hike any time soon.
  17. I don't agree though and you have some facts confused. The stats are skewed because of how bad the team was to start the year. By the end of the year they were close to the same juggernaut that they were to start 2011. They didn't find Grant late in the year...he had been on the team for four years by then and went on IR to start the season. They found Starks late in the year and he was a beast heading into the playoffs. The end of 2010 was Jordy's coming out party, Jennings had established himself as a top guy and Driver was still productive, and they had James Jones. It was a very good offense that yes, did lose a bunch of guys and had to adapt...but it was pretty much the same guys + a rookie Randall Cobb and a healthy Finley in 2011. Remember that the Steelers defense was #1/#2 depending on the website and that offense largely humiliated them. IDK what Shields being a UFDA has to do with it. UFDA or #1 overall pick, he was an exceptional player. IMO he's one of the most underrated Packers of the last decade. He was a great corner.
  18. I don't think Netflix has anything to worry about just yet. It has much more mature content than Disney+, and the basic plan that I use is only $9 or something, not double Disney's $7. I got the 3-yr Disney+ deal for $3.90. Disney does own Hulu and their ESPN+, Hulu package is $12.99. But, Disney+ and Netflix are not really competing for the same viewership exactly. The problem is down the line where original content won't be able to keep Netflix growing, there is just no way. It's close to plateauing if it hasn't already, the growth rate was already stalling last year. But Disney's library and its many avenues to offer original content IS enough to keep growing. I don't think Disney will be $7 for long. They had to come in there to undercut the market. But there's a chance it does if they use it to get people hooked on the movies, the parks, the merchandise, etc.
  19. Take solace in the fact that they very likely don't know what boomer means and just took it from a meme.
  20. He hasn't been particularly good in quite some time. I'm not sure he solves either problem at this point in his career.
  21. Only time I see anything like this going anywhere is if the kid was gimpy already or something and told the coach beforehand "I can play, but I'm not sliding." There would likely still be a question about his choice to play and assuming the risk, but I could see the thing getting to see the light of day in that situation.
  22. A responsible attorney should not have taken the case. Have you consulted with attorneys? I have on a couple occasions, and one was very forthright with me about telling me I had no case. I don't know how it got past even that point. "So you slid into third base at a game and got hurt, and you want to make the coach pay? Ok, let's do this."
  23. I heard this on the radio this morning so had to look it up. It's one of the most insane things I've ever read. https://www.nj.com/slide-trial/
  24. They were an underdog in Atlanta as well and lost a game there earlier in the season. I think the line moved to -1 by kickoff, but they were still an underdog. A lot of people forget how dicey that game began; without the Tramon play it probably would've gone down to the wire. The Packers fumbled on an early drive and gave up a kickoff for a TD, they were down 14-7. The Tramon play was really a killer. Atlanta was just dead coming out of the half. The rest is pretty true though. They had a 12-4 pythagorean that year, it was a much better team than 10-6. Rodgers essentially missed two games, and people ALSO forget how bad the offense was early in the season. It was bad. They were 3-3 and lost two straight OT games to Washington and Miami. That team was freakishly close to being more like 14-2...and they also never trailed by more than 7 all season, a really crazy stat.
  25. On the subject of parents/guidance. Here is an example. I have a co-worker whose oldest kid is entering college in the fall. These people are fairly affluent, household income probably about $200k, but she complains a lot about bills, they drive two dumb cars, live in a huge house, etc., so effectually probably normal surplus money. Anyway, her daughter is a 4.0 student. She got some money from Marquette, but it's still going to cost them about $45k per year. She has told her daughter she's only helping with living expenses. So this girl is on the hook for tuition. Whenever the topic comes up, I bite my tongue, but my co-worker acts like this is purely her daughter's call and she can't stop it. "I was the same way." "She loves Marquette." "I won't say no to her dream school." Uh, why? She wants to do medicine...you are 80 minutes from UW med school? What on earth are you doing? Be the ADULT and shut this down! This kid has absolutely no way to know what she's signing up for. My kids aren't going to Marquette, lol. They're just not. Nothing against the place, but there is no reason to take on that burden unless you can burn money with no consequence. Nobody would let an 18 y/o make that level of a decision with ANY other thing, yet there are so many people just green lighting it when it comes to college. That doesn't make you a bad parent, which I feel is what these people think. There is a time for an adult to use the life experience a kid doesn't have to step in and prevent a wildfire.
