  1. Think we're OK, honestly. Make a few tweaks at half and make Moore uncomfortable. Not going to be the signature I was hoping to see but let's just get out of here with seven wins.
  2. It is 17-14 and the last page of comments would lead one to think we are down 31-0. As a person who ripped this defense before the game, relax. This is a very fast and talented offense. We were not going to embarrass them. Gut out another tough road win and build on it.
  3. This offense is absolutely loaded with speed and talent regardless of who the QB is. The Packers need to move the ball to keep the defense off the field and they haven't the last few drives. Not time to panic, but both sides need to tighten up.
  4. Careful. I've been told not to question it because all those yards are from garbage time.
  5. Sure looked like a TD on first down but whatever.
  6. Mostly 3/4 yard runs and dink and dunk except for a huge miracle catch by the pride of Whitewater on a big 3rd down. Nice toss sweep to Jones for the first score. Thanks, love him.
  7. Can't remember the Packers ever sending a RB deep as often as they do with Jones.
  8. Missed the first drive trick or treating. Drive summary of how we scored?
  9. You cannot get sacked after 8 seconds. You just can't.
  10. Good challenge by LaFluer regardless of outcome. That's basically a turnover. Seen too many coaches let that go over the years.
  11. You only have to hit "submit" once. Can we please stop the straw man garbage? There are a few people who have a habit of doing that when anyone is remotely critical of the hometown team and frankly it's annoying. I never said the Vikings win wasn't good, I just said they've evolved as a team. It went as far as Thielen basically calling out Cousins in the media, that offense hasn't been the same since. Picking apart the box score is a fruitless endeavor. When you are running for 6 yards on every play there is no reason your QB has to throw 50 passes. The Packers did not stop Wentz when he had to throw. That's a fact. A more concise way of explaining what I want to see is this: I want to see the Packers win a game they're not supposed to win. That's been kind of hard to this point, because I don't think they've played one I expected them to lose. This would've been one, until Mahomes sat out. Let me clear about this though: If they win tonight, it's a good win regardless. I just really wanted to see Mahomes and Rodgers go at it and see how our defense stacked up against the best. But that wasn't going to happen the instant he got hurt.
  12. They're not the frauds, the QB is just atrocious but they have to stick with him due to his draft status. And I was one that said before the season they'd probably suck, just because this is what they do. He is going to get Matt Nagy fired. I never bought into Trubisky at any point. He is the same stiff they've been trotting out there since 1990. They have a bunch of money tied up in Mack which is wonderful because it's a total waste. He is an amazing player, but you really had to hit on Trubisky for that to make a lot of sense. New England is the best team in the NFL, not going to dispute it, BUT look at that schedule. You could not get any easier. You literally couldn't, they're 32nd in SOS and it's by an enormous margin.
  13. Their schedule's been fine, just not overly hard, which is something I keep seeing pushed on several Packers boards. They've played five games at home (lost one) and got to play Minnesota before they found their offense, then lucked into Mahomes getting hurt. I don't know how the W-L stacks up but the 2nd half appears much more brutal on paper. Like I said, the Packers will not ride an easy schedule to the division with Minnesota breathing down their neck. If you want a joke schedule, look at who New England has played.
  14. You apparently did miss the memo where the Eagles backs ran for 160 yards and averaged 6 YPC. Wentz went through them in the 2nd half when he had to move the ball. The only reason he didn't pass for more was because they were gashing the Packers on the ground like several teams have. The Eagles did whatever they wanted. Nothing I'm saying about the defense is remotely controversial. It has been extremely vulnerable against the rush and has gone extended periods of games looking like the same old sieve. It's a better defense because it's been infused with actual talent and we don't have parade Blake Martinez as one of its best players anymore. But there is plenty of room (and time) for improvement. The SOS narrative is weak btw. The Packers SOS currently sits 21st. You needn't look beyond this game to see why that's a lame stat. The Packers are playing a 5-2 team without the league's MVP. A team that probably finishes with 11 wins or so and we played them without the MVP. I've never liked that stat, it removes every variable from every match up.
  15. But it wouldn't be a "good" win if they do? Never said that it wasn't. Can we stop doing this? I said it wouldn't be a signature win, a statement...which is true. Taking down Matt Moore is not sending shockwaves through the league.
  16. How do you come to the conclusion the Packers are most likely to be a paper tiger? What about the Bills? Winning in the final 3 minutes against the 1-5 Jets or 0-7 Bengals? Sure they have a nice D, but their O is nothing special and have played a weak schedule. The Ravens? Who squeaked past the 2-4 Steelers in OT and gave up 40 in a loss to the 2-4 Browns? The Vikings who we already beat? Because the Packers have still shown they struggle a lot with slowing down any good QB. Wentz carved them up when he had to in the second half, Carr was unstoppable until he threw the ball in the back of the end zone, Dak threw 500 yards on them (sorry, garbage time is not an excuse). I haven't seen anything from the defense that gives me a lot of confidence in them going up against Russell Wilson, Drew Brees, Jimmy G, etc. Minnesota is playing really good football too. I'm not putting a lot of weight in beating them in Week 2. It was a good win, but it's not like I look at them as a team I'd expect to crush. Their offense is playing a lot better than it was to start the year. Beating them there is going to be very difficult so I'm really hoping they're several games back by then.
  17. It isn't about impressing pollsters, it's about looking against good teams, which the Packers really haven't done a lot of with the exception of Dallas who has three pretty garbage wins. That's a team that lost to the Jets and beat Washington and Miami. The good QBs the Packers have faced have made their defense look pretty terrible, even Carr did so in a fairly lopsided game. I'm not at all convinced the Packers are better than Minnesota, who I think has a better defense but the QB discrepancy may be enough for the Packers to win the division anyway. Minnesota is already playing much better than they were when they opened the season, another problem I have with those stats like the 20-20-1 thing. A team you play in September at 0-1 is very rarely the same one in November. Padding your record with Matt Moore and the Broncos is great but that is not who you end up playing in January. This Packers team, to this point, is more reminiscent of the one that started 6-0 in 2015 than some better teams that have had worse records. People love to recite cliches about winning on the road in the NFL and every game is tough yadda yadda, but the Packers really have not put a complete, dominant game up yet. The defense is certainly better but had significant stretches of being pretty bad. The most encouraging thing of the past few games is that Rodgers looks like his old self. But sorry, that defense needs a statement performance and it hasn't done it yet. They need to show they can contain the best QBs. Their second half schedule is a lot harder than their first. They won't be coasting to a division crown on a weak schedule so they will get several chances to show their mettle. There are 5-6 very losable games on that schedule.
  18. The Jets is the game I would have picked as well. Without looking at the schedule that team also pitched 3-4 basically shutouts, there were at least 4 games where he held teams to 7 or less. They also started pummeling several teams right after the Jets. The 10-6 record was really an anomaly. I think I remember some stat where that team was never down more than 7 the entire season. But this team really doesn't have a performance like that - yet. They played that Falcons team in the regular season too and lost either with a last second FG or in OT. Edit: They held the opponent to 7 or less SIX times!
  19. Indy Indians top minor league attendance nearly every year. Nashville is absolutely exploding. I don't think either one is getting a team, but I do feel confident a team would do better than the A's are doing. I don't see adding an MLB team to Nashville as all that crazy. I'm less confident it gets resolved. The team is not well supported at all - and I don't see how you can make the claim SF is a separate market. It's not. The Warriors can't make that move so easily if that was true. Have you spent significant time there? You can get from one to the other in 25 minutes. San Jose is considered part of the Bay Area market, the 49ers literally play there (Santa Clara, but a far easier trek than coming from actual Frisco) and it's quite a bit farther away.
  20. I mean this honestly and not in a snarky way, but is there something they do that you actually don't hate?
  21. That's well and good, but another meh win where they get a 27-20 decision or something and Matt Moore throws for 300 yards really doesn't do anything to establish the Packers as a real contender. Beating healthy Mahomes does that, as does going into SF and winning. I still think there is a legitimate question right now as to what this team really is. If I'm picking apart all the one and two loss teams, the Packers are probably at the top of my list for which one is most likely a paper tiger. I am not saying they necessarily are one but there are several eek wins, several questionable defensive performances and just no real impressive wins thus far. Dallas is probably the best one.
  22. It was going to be an asterisk win of sorts whether or not he played. I'm personally bummed he got hurt at all, it would have been a great measuring stick for the defense. They could still lose this game/get lit up defensively, but now they basically have to play well or it looks pretty bad. And winning won't be very convincing of anything. I'm really looking for that signature win, but Carolina, SF and @NY should give them a chance for that.
  23. They wouldn't be leaving the market because the Giants are across the water and actually have fans. The A's absolutely should leave. The town doesn't care for them at all and it's an incredibly well-run team in spite of getting jack as far as local support goes. Vegas seems weird to me but maybe there, Nashville or Indy all seem like decent spots.
  24. It's the NBA. I expect this game to be decided by < 5 pts.
  25. Kareem didn't like Milwaukee. Only years later as an old man did he speak well of it. He's no Milwaukee hero. Ray Allen is probably that guy as much as anyone pre-Giannis. He loved it and would've played his whole career there.
