  1. If some standing up bothers you at a football game, it's probably time to watch the games from the den. I prefer that method of viewing personally, but to expect other people not to stand up when the Packers are on defense in a playoff game? I think that's nuts. Most people aren't season ticket holders and paid for the ability to be loud and influence the game as a group. I'm not a very rowdy fan but if the guys in front of me stand up then I just stand up. They're not doing anything wrong.
  2. Losing 163 doesn't count as far as finishing worse than the Nationals. We'd still host them if tied after 162.
  3. I had the exact same experience at the last game I attended, the 2016 Wild Card against the Giants. It wasn't me, but a group of age 21ish guys standing up and going nuts when the Packers were on defense. A group of old farts behind us kept screaming at them to sit down, and I stayed out of it but they were driving me insane. They kept saying it like they owned the damn place, even dropping a "We've been coming here since before you were born!" line. OK? Great, it's not yours, and you guys suck as fans. Eventually, I swear I'm not making this up, one old guy GRABS the kid by the hoodie and yanks him backwards, could have seriously hurt him, then THE OLD GUY has the nerve to summon security and complain about the kid standing up. At this point people all start vouching for the kids and security just says he's allowed to stand up. Another guy probably about 40, who was probably 6'7, turns to the old guy and says if he touches the kids again he'll knock him out right there no matter how old he is. That was pretty much the last straw for me - but I actually agree with your point, that the geezer football purists are really damaging to the atmosphere at Lambeau.
  4. 75 posts on an 1130 start against the Reds in the 4th inning...must be Sept.
  5. Just keep this close and get Castillo out of the game by the 7th.
  6. I guess I just have a hard time believing that if you played out that scenario 20 times the Brewers would only end up on top once but the math is probably more solid than my head.
  7. Disney+ will be the death knell to cable. They will eventually acquire so many properties that they'll be basically unstoppable. The only real competitor I see is Netflix continuing to create popular original content. It will take a couple of years, but I hope Netflix keeps it interesting. Disney+ is also the one least likely to price gouge because it can just keep it affordable and use it as leverage to get people to their movies and parks.
  8. Forget that they won 17/19 though. As late as yesterday they were at 5%, then it potentially swings 20 points because they beat a crappy Reds team twice and the Cardinals lose a game? The people constantly ripping the projections apart aren't any more annoying to me than the people who take this stuff as law. Is it that unreasonable that some of these formulas are flawed and not accounting for things that a computer simply can't?
  9. I still think those projections have serious flaws. The Brewers were at 5% at the division yesterday. If they beat the fading Reds twice after one STL loss they are one back with 3 left, against the Rockies while STL plays its most intense rival. I just have a hard time believing that was ever a 1/20 probability, it doesn't sounds that crazy.
  10. I don't get the Let's Get Wild thing when they are potentially 1 game back of division.
  11. I've said this before but I've lost interest in going. The in-person product sucks, without the distraction of getting a drink from your fridge, using your own bathroom or just watching a commercial, the constant stoppages and reviews and discussions of calls make the live product just an agonizing molasses experience. The price hasn't really come down all that much and I just have no desire to drive up there for $100+.
  12. Random tidbit, that fan died last year. He was 20 something when he did that.

  14. Getting way ahead but dreaming...man oh man could this be fun if we are 1GB Thursday afternoon.

  16. That was pre-WC game era though. 2014 Giants won it all though, at 88-74.

  18. They play Dallas before the Lions, so an extended break before Dallas, then an extra day for the Lions.
  19. I think that's a soft rule that they have followed. It wouldn't apply to teams that played Week 1 because there is no competitive disadvantage as you're not coming off a Sunday game in Week 1. It could be seen as an advantage starting the year with 10 days off.
  20. I don't give up anything at 3-0. 6-0 maybe you throw in the B arms.
  21. Cards have to lose today and we have to pick up another one. Then I'd say it's game on. It'd be game on if the Cubs had mustered one stupid win.
  22. Beat me to it. Think I read somewhere else this is the first year in franchise history the Brewers were never under .500.
  23. It's a best of 5 vs. a one and done, so I always chase the division. They're not catching STL though.
  24. I agree and think 31 is a pretty crappy goal. In a weird twist, a crappy Chiefs team was the one that showed the NFL how to slow down the 2011 Packers. Mahomes will get his yards against the Packers, but we need a defense that can force a couple turnovers and bend but keep them in the 21-27 range. If we have to score 48 to win, we are the same team. I don't anticipate winning that game; we certainly could, but what I'm really watching for in that game is do we slow them down at all, do we compete. If we lose something like 23-20 that will be good enough for me to know we can take care of them or another top offense later if need be.
  25. Don't think it's tough. You throw everything at the division. But merely playing the WC at home? You have to control yourself there.
