  1. Sometimes I struggle a lot with the computers. 19% at division, while certainly a good chance, seems low to me. Fan graphs still has the Cubs higher to even make the playoffs, which makes no sense to me at all. I can't quite say it yet but if the Brewers end the night one game back of St Louis, they are the favorite imo.
  2. I'm absolutely useless at work the rest of the month
  3. It's still baseball though. Anything can happen in Colorado. I have more confidence in our rivals losing due to everything you said, but the Brewers are definitely capable of losing a bunch of games here.
  4. I mean the Cubs are only up 7-5 on the Cards. As close as it can be without a tie. A 5-2 split would mean the Cubs have losing records against both. Tough, but not super hard to see. Of course, if they go 2-5 the Cubs are likely donezo.
  5. No one assumed that? But statements like "this team isn't capable of this based on how they're playing" are pretty empty. Two weeks ago the Brewers were destined for 82-80. Any of these three teams are capable of sudden terrible baseball.
  6. Yes, they seem virtually unbeatable at home right now, but they have gone 8-1 in their last 9 road games. And they remain under .500 on the road for the year. If only the season started this month, the Brewers could've gone 140-22 this year.
  7. Probably has been stated but in case anyone is wondering, we'd host Chicago in 163 but visit St. Louis. If all three tie I don't have a clue what happens other than there is more baseball in a bunch of places.
  8. Yes? 3-8 is reasonable but 2-9 isn't? Lol. I love how quickly people forget things, for better or worse. I think we're in, but this is in no way locked up or inevitable. I don't like that we have to leave Milwaukee for the final two series.
  9. Not quite inevitable since this team is certainly capable of a 2-9 finish. But it's looking good. Sorta feels like they may have gotten hot a tad too early but it's been done before. 6-5 would probably get a WC. My eyes have turned to the division now. I think we want the Cubs and Cards to go back and forth and keep them both in it as long as possible. But if we dominate bad teams this thing is ours.
  10. Per 538 the Brewers division odds gained +10 last night to 19%. The Cubs sit 23%, but are behind the Brewers 53-69 when it comes to making the playoffs. Not all that surprising since the Brewers likely have two paths in and the Cubs probably don't.
  11. This is truly incredible. There is a sliver of a shot this team can win 90 games. Did anyone on the planet think that was possible two weeks ago.
  12. If the Brewers and Cubs are tied after tonight, and we can't be better for 11 games against San Diego, Pitt, Cincinnati and Colorado, while they play STL seven times, I don't really care to see us in the playoffs. At this point I'm gunning for the division because we really have no excuse for not overtaking the Cubs. We likely have to suck for that to happen.
  13. Lmao. This call is so stupid. Why would one call a park ranger if they saw a moose? "Well, sir, you're in a park, and the moose lives here. I'm not sure what you want me to do." It isn't a zoo, isn't the moose always loose?
  14. It's hard to watch Albers now and if they left him off the playoff roster I'd get it, but there was quite a long stretch when this entire pen sucked and he was one of about two decent arms we had going. So I hate seeing people light him up, but I get it.
  15. I missed the origin of Coach Cooper so I have no idea what it is every time it's brought up. But I just love Frosty Boys. Reminds me of years ago when someone was trying to make "The Keg" happen as a nickname for MP. At some point the wiki was changed and if you look at the edit history for MP it has several reversions and people commenting "no one calls it this" or "never heard this once in my life."
  16. I agree. Chances are somebody isn't going to have it. I think the problem is that we scored 1 run. This isn't a great example of this point.
  17. My point is that NFL teams try every day to make the teams better. They don't just white flag it when the franchise QB gets hurt like fans do. If they wanted Fitzpatrick last week they should probably still try and get him with or without Ben. The price is another story but if they thought he was worth it, so be it. League is full of teams that win with back ups. The Eagles won a Super Bowl with a pretty pedestrian backup. The Patriots won 11 games. It happens all the time. He doesn't need to be Favre-Rodgers or Manning-Luck for them to be successful. This isn't the NBA. NFL teams really don't tank. We had Packer Nation up in arms last year when they beat the Jets or whatever and I couldn't have cared less. It's just a silly concept in football. The first round is littered with guys who suck and for the most part the same teams are picking high every year. Somehow the Patriots, Packers and Steelers have done just fine without annual top 5 picks. Also, the statement about them drafting Rudolph hoping he is a good backup is totally baseless. I am sure they are hoping he is a starting prospect that either a) steps in for injury or b) could have flipped had Ben stayed healthy.
  18. I really don't think NFL teams immediately start thinking about draft position once their QB gets hurt. There are too many people with jobs on the line for that to be reality. I'm sure it's sort of a soft goal when your guy gets hurt and the backup is Vinny Testaverde and Andrew Luck is coming out of school, but the Steelers used a 3rd rounder on this guy, and have been singing his praises since last year. They're going to try to win. Things shift in the NFL way too quickly to plan 3 and 4 year rebuilds. If he is even a component starter they could be winning the AFC within a couple of seasons. It's just not really like baseball in that regard. I think it was Golic lamenting that shipping Alex Smith was stupid because even if Mahomes was good the Chiefs wouldn't be "going anywhere with him next year."
  19. Ben is 37 years old and not one of the QBs that exemplifies personal fitness. He has remained productive, but an arm injury that requires surgery at his age is not good. And Rudolph is a 3rd round pick, obviously they thought highly of him. It makes sense to me they go after some pieces to improve the entire team and give the young QB a shot to be productive. Rudolph may tank, but this is sort of a prototypical "legend loses his starting gig" situation. His contract probably prevents that from happening, but the Steelers are being proactive in the event he comes back next year and looks like late-stage Peyton Manning. But Rudolph is almost definitely going to be the guy all year. You don't draft a guy that high to go get somebody else when his opportunity comes up.
  20. At this point it may be just as fruitful to hope STL sweeps WAS.
  21. There are two conversations going on here. One is arguing that Yelich is the MVP, the other is the plausibility of him actually winning the award. He's not going to win. The other contender is on a power team that will win 106 games. He would have had to blow Bellinger away to win it even if he didn't get hurt.
  22. So annoying watching the Cubs get huge leads in the first inning. Ugh.
