  1. Feels like our calling card lately. Putting guys on in ideal parts of the order and not scoring.
  2. I'm just hoping the recent crapola is just a well-timed cold snap that will conveniently end around September 29. The season is full of highs and lows and hopefully we cooled in time to heat up again.
  3. Just do the math. If they are 6GB with 12 left to play, 6-6 would require the Cubs to go 12-0. They could go 9-3 and the Brewers would stay in 1st by going 4-8. The Brewers have been middling. Not atrocious. They've basically been what the Cubs have been, thus the needle not moving at all for 3 weeks in either direction.
  4. There's a point when you run out of time. Since reaching 59-39 the Cubs are 25-25. They have been a .500 team since the ASB and consistently lost to supposedly soft teams they were going to steamroll while we urinated ourselves and bowed to their greatness. They aren't winning the division. We left the door open for them and they didn't even walk onto the porch. There are only 13 games left. They will have to damn near win all of them, and even then it's highly possible they wouldn't make it up.
  5. No. It's over. The Cubs are 100% not winning the division. I actually can't believe two different people replied to that saying it's not. It is. I'm talking myself into it? They've been consistently 6 games back for 3 weeks. One of us is definitely talking themselves into something but it's not me.
  6. It just feels like this team is running out of gas. The division race is over, but we have been on an extended period of meh here for a bit now. Need to find some mojo over the next couple weeks.
  7. Not really as true as it used to be. They contribute pretty often now and sometimes as bona fide stars. I am not expecting that out of Golden, but we shouldn't be waiting until his 4th year in the league for him to do something either.
  8. I am not too worried about Golden but I didn't anticipate him having more than like 700 yards this season. He looks explosive and gets open. He will have his time.
  9. I don't know if it's just because I'm seeking Parsons out but it sure looks he gets held on almost every damn passing down.
  10. Doesn't help when Love misses him on a 90 yard TD.
  11. They were playing the kickoffs in the field early in the game. They are just not going to allow a 12-second touchdown at this stage of the game.
  12. Oh I would kick it. Just not from 56.
  13. Yes, actually. https://www.acmepackingcompany.com/general/70537/youre-going-to-hear-about-kicking-balls-this-weekend
  14. I probably would have gone for it from that distance but that should officially put things out of reach.
  15. Precisely. Taking the big play off the table. Anyway, I think the corners technically are a weak link. But it's one you can mask. I think the weak link will show itself to be both interior lines. They have struggled a bit running inside, and have not really been tested defensively there.
  16. That should do it. Slammed the door shut promptly.
  17. Someone must have told Matt that the stupid pitch plays to WRs needed to go but showed him another way it might work.
  18. I think it's pretty obvious I'm referring to 5 game minutes from right now. 🙄
  19. Or go for it and fail and it's 17-14 in about 5 minutes.
  20. Which is why I'm glad we just kicked the FG. Unfortunately we should still be up about 20 right now.
  21. To me you always kick the FG if the FG either extends your lead another possession, or moves you into the zone where the opponent has to score a TD and not a FG. A 10 or 11pt lead really isn't the same as a 14 or lead when kickers are making 60 yard FGs on a weekly basis. That was a no-brainer imo. You make this offense that hasn't done a thing go down the field for 2 TDs.
  22. This is one soft ass defensive hold.
  23. I definitely kick the FG there to go up 2 touchdowns. You need to get a TD on the first 3 plays.
