  1. The most encouraging sign from last night's game was that the secondary was actually able to go one-on-one and make stops. Early and not the best offense they'll face but the infusion of young athletic corners might finally be getting somewhere.
  2. Not watching but how is the attendance? I had two tickets go unused. Couldn't give them away and had them on StubHub for the minimum of $6. Didn't sell. First week of school and lousy weather but was still somewhat surprised.
  3. In 2011? That seems really unlikely. That was an elimination game on a Friday night. I cannot imagine them being that low if that were to happen again, granted the fees and such make $40 about $58. I can't recall exactly, but I'm pretty sure Game 1 and 2 that I attended and sat in the terrace were about $50.
  4. The almighty dollar will swiftly trump those who are unwilling to sell to Cubs fans. Most transactions occur on stubhub where nobody knows who is buying the tickets anyway...the Cubs fans will dictate the market for those tickets and it will be high if such a series occurs. As far as online start times and things not selling out, you must not have a lot of experience with national-scale events because I've been in the "virtual lobby" for many, many online sales for large musicals and concerts and been left out in the cold. Anyway, I knew lots of acquaintances who got tickets to see the Phillies here in 08. It wasn't rare to know someone who won...I just think if the SSH buy their strips this year + they get a single game presale, the remaining seats are going to be not very many. It will be hard. There is a big, big difference in having an 86% chance to make the playoffs, and the trend the Brewers were heading last year, as you said. I would guess a lot of the SSH are buying the strip this year, which is due tomorrow.
  5. You're probably right and that makes it sound much harder to get them IMO. The SSH will buy up a lot of those just to resell.
  6. There will be a lottery where you register for a chance at 2 or 4 tickets I think, something like that. Then you will get an email, you get 24 hours or something to buy, and if not, a limited number are re-released. It is difficult though. I was out of state in 08, but in 11 my roommate was a SSH so I went to the entire NLDS and NLCS Game 6. No one in my family of 4 received the lottery tickets in 2011. Now I am a SSH (new this year) and have purchased the strip for a pretty penny. But this is what I did it for. As an aside, I find being a SSH absolutely worth it. So many freebies and extras they throw in to make it worth your while. It's been mentioned here before that usually you're better off on the secondary market, but that's just for the price of a ticket. They treat SSH so well it has been an awesome experience.
  7. Cousins's numbers aren't top flight. They were top flight in 1999 but his line the last three years is definitely low tier 2, I would say, for QBs. He also doesn't have any signature moments at this point in his career. He's played in one playoff game and got stomped by the Packers. Obviously that's not all on him, but that's why he doesn't have that kind of respect. He's a good, but not great QB that has been solid for fantasy football and not much else. Maybe this is the change he needed, but that is why.
  8. Peppers was very productive for them, but yes, was cut after 4 and came to GB. They must really believe in Trubisky. I wouldn't be totally shocked if the Bears challenge. The Packers rarely seem to stomp the Bears anyway. I remember a lot of close games with Rodgers at the helm. This should be a strong division.
  9. League has become a lot less defense friendly even since 06 when the Bears won the NFC. You do pretty much need a show-stopping QB to win the Super Bowl. Foles may not be that, but he certainly played like it last season. But I don't think Truby is even close, is the point.
  10. This is a farce. I'm sorry but it sure feels like this game is called if it's the Cardinals or Cubs.
  11. No real surprises to me. 8 WR is a lot but I couldn't pick any I thought would get cut. Surprised a little at 4TE. I think Ripkowski is the biggest surprise.
  12. The problem is you can't model a team after the 1985 Bears when the NFL essentially doesn't let you play defense in 2018. You can't hit, you can't rough up WRs. You need some semblance of a defense but you need a QB more than anything and it's not even close.
  13. Boring. The Bears will have a solid defense and the same scrubs playing quarterback. He won't make ant long term difference for them. No I don't believe in Trubisky and thought he looked like every other scrub they've trotted out for twenty years.
  14. So Rodgers really just wanted assurance he was the guy and Hundley wasn't going to get his job.
  15. I guess Seattle doesn't have to compete with anyone in FA this way, if anyone was going to go after Hundley.
  16. Bizarre move IMO. Once the Packers are on the phone with you about Hundley, it's got to be pretty good chances that he's getting cut. Surprised anybody was giving up anything for him, much less a 6th when I was positive it would be a 7th.
  17. This isn't saying much at all, but a few analysts thought Pipkins was the Packers best performing corner last season. Obviously, he didn't fit with the new defense. Both teams got someone who has played before at positions of need.
  18. He is pretty much a scrub. He just happens to fill a niche role that we lost due to injury but that guy is not turning any heads. He's depth/niche downs that has played in the NFL before and nothing more.
  19. We couldn't ask for a better position. We play almost nobody in contention besides CHC and they are running away with the division. My biggest fear is getting swept the second to last series in STL as that would be classic Brewers.
  20. In whose world is a meaningless preseason Packer game worth missing a Brewer game for? Alot of people. Wisconsin is Packers Country first and it's not even close. I am one of those Packers-first people, but I question the sanity of anybody watching that garbage over this garbage.
  21. Maybe not done, but if we miss the WC by one game again it will be maddening how many of these we gave away.
