  1. Gambling doesn't melt steel beams
  2. I've been wrong many times but I don't think they'll trade Giannis, at least not soon. From a business standpoint I don't see how it's a positive. It will piss off so many people and let's be honest, once he leaves town we are likely back to the doldrums. The best possible outcome would be getting enough back to be a perennial middling playoff team. The only path to the championship in Milwaukee is striking gold with a pick like him again. Giannis is butts in the seats even if their ceiling is the 2nd round of the playoffs. I think it's more likely he asks out to chase more rings once he sees the window here is shut.
  3. You aren't considering two things, one of which has been a staple of Disney World. They don't need to sell as many tickets if they sell them at a higher price point, but more importantly: Those buying at a higher price are better in-the-gates customers. They spend more. They're not packing lunch or filling up waters at fountains. They are the ones buying things in the shops too.
  4. Yeah I think they are primed to lose in the first round. I think every fan outside of Milwaukee (and some inside of it) can see that this is a team with a superstar and a washed up cast.
  5. I must be getting old. Last year I dropped my ticket plan and to be honest, I think I'm just over live sports. I'm sure I'll go here and there for group outings. But the driving, the traffic, the thinking about what time I'll get back and need to prepare life for the next day...it just feels like a lot. I haven't been to Lambeau since 2016. I had a Bucks plan last season and the situation around the arena on Gameday is just a nightmare. It's not so much a cost thing as it is inconvenience, and even if I can afford it, it doesn't feel like a great value for money when I can watch it at home with food and drink and a clean toilet. A Sunday 1pm game at AmFam means I am booked from at least 11 until 530. I'm sure there is still plenty of value to be had when there are 81 games. I think I just got to a point where it wasn't all that much fun to be there.
  6. I'm not suggesting this was negligence or purposeful but it is pretty alarming the team staff thought this was no biggie and someone else discovers he can't play for 3 months.
  7. I think Jones was better in GB than he'll be anywhere else. I think that Jacobs is probably an upgrade but this could end up like the "upgrade" of Jared Cook to Martellus Bennett.
  8. 1/7 and the Packers couldn't do that? Seems like a dumb move to me honestly. Unless they were seeking more assurances from GB I can't believe they valued him less than that. Hope this doesn't backfire.
  9. Well, we're not in Ted's GB anymore, that's for sure.
  10. Jacobs from 2 years ago is better than Jones, but I'd be hard pressed to say he's more productive than Jones. When Jones isn't banged up I honestly don't know that he's not a top 3 RB in the NFL. He does everything. He is incredibly explosive. He turns negative plays into 10-yard runs. The only thing keeping his production down when healthy is the number of touches they choose to give him. A career YPC of 5 is insanely good for a back that's been around that long. I don't think it's productivity so much as it is age and health. Jones missed a LOT of time last year. They were really bad when he was out. They have to consider his reliability at 29/30 especially when putting the weight of a championship on his shoulders. I think it has more to do with that than any productivity drop off. Jones was still so, so good down the stretch.
  11. I do get it, even if the fan in me doesn't like it. They were trying to restructure, it wasn't going well, once they saw options and pricing on the FA market they probably decided that was better to get another explosive playmaker who is 4 years younger. Jones then lost any leverage. It's hard to watch when it's your favorite players but it is a shrewd move. I've spent a long time listening to fans criticize the Packers for not moving on or paying a guy one contract too many. They've generally been good at timing these sorts of things. Always sucks, but I get why it happened.
  12. Very weird to see an ascending team with SB aspirations cut arguably its best offensive player.
  13. So much for that 2-pronged attack. It was fun for 10 minutes, lol. In all honesty, I'm 50/50 on this. Jones is banged up a lot and the wrong age for an NFL RB. It's always better to cut ties before the dive happens. But it's hard to ignore how much better they were with him on the field. It's a weird move that could end up either looking like genius foresight or a huge mistake, not just for his production but what he meant to the team.
  14. This is wild if both are healthy in the playoffs. To be able to run constantly with one of those two guys is bonkers. Holy cow.
  15. You get hours per week allotted in franchise mode and have to figure out how many to spend begging boosters for money.
  16. They weren't going to win a championship with Jrue Holiday. The fact is that they needed someone like Lillard to get a bucket when teams clog the paint with good defenders in the playoffs. We've seen what happens when the only path is Giannis barreling in on every possession. Middleton can no longer be counted on and Pat Connaughton/Bobby Portis isn't that guy. Jrue Holiday wasn't the problem (although his too frequent 6-of-22 nights were), but he is the only asset they had that would have brought something like Lillard back. I think every Bucks fan knew they were going to miss Holiday and everyone would have preferred sending Middleton off for that kind of ROI, but it was never going to happen. It was either run it back and know they aren't going to win, or change course with another superstar offensive player and see if it helps. I think the jury is still out. I think it's likely they flame out, but being the NBA I would still wait and see what happens when everyone turns on another gear in the playoffs. We haven't gotten what he needed to get out of Dame, but I think the trade had to happen. There had to be a shift, whether it works or not isn't relevant to me because I know they weren't going to do it with Holiday.
  17. Yeah, you're right. I didn't know that. Even more reason that I wouldn't have kicked the FG then.
  18. Didn't get a chance to post it and I understand it's insane, but if I were SF I would have gone for it on the last 4th down. I just don't give the ball to Maholmes.
  19. I feel like they've given Maholmes too many shots and are about to pay for it.
  20. It's kinda hard to avoid them. I don't have Twitter, TikTok or Instagram and I saw a handful of them.
  21. I think the commercial thing is pretty dead. A bunch of them leak ahead of time all over social.
  22. Can't pay relievers $100m then get upset when they make self preservation decisions to get their $100m, especially when they are a) the best and b) listened to their team say saves are what are matters to save a few bucks on their arbitration contract. I don't see anything wrong with what he did or said. It all comes back to the fact that this league is broken when most teams have to do what the Brewers do and Houstons of the league can do whatever because they simply just can. If anything I appreciate his candidness. Both sides protected their best interests. The league is terribly structured. That's all there is to it.
  23. How is this a bad look? He makes complete sense.
