  1. I'd hold off on ordering the HOF bust quite yet... 😅 I've tried really hard to be a realist with Love this year. When he was having bad accuracy issues, I pointed it out when critiquing his play, but refrained from kicking him the curb. I really wanted him to have the full year before making any judgments (just in case Gute happened to call me up for my opinion... ). I was equally effusive of his praise the last 4 weeks. The turnaround has been stark and I'm pretty confident he is capable of playing better than at least half of the NFL starting QBs. But like earlier in the year, let him play out the year or maybe next to really start to see what sort of QB he will be. Maybe this was just a hot streak. KC will be an interesting challenge next week. I'm confident he will be back next year but I'd like a bit more of a sample to see if the last 4 games were the norm or the first 7? Or something in between?
  2. Wicks isn't the fastest WR, but his route running was strong. He is 5th on the team currently (Watson just passed him in a game Wicks was out injured) in receiving despite getting much fewer snaps. He kind of gives me some Donald Driver vibes - not big, not fast, just gets it done - type of WR. Van Ness' knock was more on technique. I think there were some Qs about him holding the edge, but that doesn't seem to be an issue. Maybe if he was a 4-3 DL he would've been small? He clearly does need more pass rush moves... kind of eerily similar to Gary in their rookie years.
  3. And probably has a better chance to make more money next year in college than as an UDFA (assuming signing bonus only and getting cut).
  4. Yes, that was also what I heard. Thus why I said "might" return.
  5. Mordecai is also gone. Though Locke looked at least as good. I'm guessing they will hit the transfer portal again. Should be pretty prime spot for any RB they want. Mellusi might return though he can't seem to stay healthy. Pauli was pretty good at WR this year. Green wasn't bad. Not sure who else they got coming up either. TE is thin, LB was sort of weak, CB also. DL was up and down. But this year started rebuilding the talent gap we had the last couple years. More experience in the offensive and defensive systems will help too.
  6. Their QB got whacked on their last offensive play... I wonder if he wasn't going to be able to come back out... Well we hit our minimum expectation milestones - Beat Bielama and Fleck, Make a bowl. Seems like they started turning things around at the end of the season. Interesting to see what they will be able to accomplish next year with a year of experience.
  7. The Packer's traded draft pick #45 to the Lions who drafted S Brian Branch (who would've helped the Packers too!). They traded down one more time and turned that one pick into: #50 Jayden Reed #159 Dontayvion Wicks #179 Karl Brooks Holy cow is that a huge return! Sure, it takes good drafting in the 5th and 6th rounds and it's still early... but that looks like a huge steal at this point.
  8. Nice! Pauling is back. TD!!!
  9. Or Green. Two of our top 3 WRs out...
  10. No. Let it sit for a year at least before making yet more changes. If there is anything to the injuries gather more info before trying to make it worse.
  11. They didn't say much. They said security tried to stop him from leaving at half-time. No particular reason was given...just that MLF wasn't happy. Said he had no interest in stopping and he's never had that happen before.
  12. Well there is our regular D back... 😔
  13. Wait... that wasn't Joe Pantoliano?
  14. Yeah, I realize it is supposed to look like they are in the snow... but puffy vests, jackets, stocking caps... at an indoor stadium. They must be sweating like crazy.
  15. I'm assuming you meant one of the two throws Goff had where the WR and he weren't on the same page? Honestly, I don't want those called intentional grounding... It was obvious he wasn't just avoiding a sack and we have so many rules the way it is.
  16. Love's improvement this year has been great. A big part of it is Reed and Musgrave's development, but Love's decision making and accuracy have also been much better.
  17. With Anders, I just keep looking forward. Yes, it would be nice to see him be a pro-bowl his rookie year, but I think the upside is worth dealing with the occasional miss. Missing PATs are frustrating as they should be automatic... But few PKs come into the NFL perfect. He wasn't great in college, so honestly this seems to be improvement.
  18. I still think Dillon would be a good HB. Block, short passes, run occasionally. At least he would be better than Deguara... low bar I know.
  19. Game Thread is open now! Great start Pack!
  20. Late start of thread, but good start of the game!
  21. The announcers made the point (repeatedly and ad nauseum) at how small Virginia was and how Florida got 21 rebounds (seriously, they said it close to 10 times) against Virginia. So I'm sure that will be the main blueprint to beat VA this year. FYI, WI got 20 offensive rebounds against VA.
  22. I think the simple answer is that he was passed up by other WRs. He was the best of a bad group of WRs last year. Pauling has come in and broken out this year as the clear top WR... He was pretty lightly used last year in Cincinnati last year. Green and Bell are also out there making plays and look more on par with Dike. CJ Williams is also out there as the 5th WR. Of those 5, only Dike and Bell (redshirt freshman) were out there last year. So just simply... we have more talent than last year.
  23. AKA, The Former Coach Chryst Bowl
  24. Rasual Douglas has a 2 INTs and a fumble recovery vs the Jets... thus decreasing the 3rd round pick we get from the Bills, but improving the 2nd round pick we get from the Jets.
