  1. Adames would have a good enough season to have the Brewers give a QO and for Adames to turn it down. I'd probably put it at 40% odds of that happening. It's probably the same reason you think he won't bring that much back in a trade...
  2. I generally eat out once per week at lunch. The fast food places are crazy. But there is a little Thai place that seems to have held their ground. A curry lunch special (which is way more food than a FF joint) still runs $10.
  3. This is the recipe I followed. The crust sounds complicated, but makes it easy to get the flaky crust. I'd probably just do canned pizza sauce next time, but this sauce was pretty good too. https://www.simplyrecipes.com/chicago-style-deep-dish-pizza-with-italian-sausage-5115964
  4. I got tired of trying bad Chicago style pizza's in the MSP area (yeah, I know, but you gotta try). So I simply made my own. First try and it was 200% better than anything around me. Yes, I'll be doing that again.
  5. I find Bear's games boring too.
  6. That is right.. draft and follow came back. Hard to keep the rules straight anymore.... 🤦‍♂️
  7. The point was that the rules have changed. Before they could continue to sign people up to the next draft (depending on when and where they played the next college season). Now you have a small window of 2 months or so to sign everyone and then it closes. Doesn't matter if he went to Juco or non-Juco anymore.
  8. Maybe they can get it fully cooked that way? 😂
  9. No one said this. What is true is that swinging a bat is easier on your back than swinging a bat AND playing the outfield. Being able to rest in the dugout (or maybe going back and stretching out, getting treatment) between ABs is easier than having to be out in the field every half inning. Since Yeli's value is in his bat (and not his defense), there is no reason to need him out there.
  10. Johnsonville Jackson Chourio Chorizo! Give me a JJCC with Stadium special sauce to go!
  11. What indication has there been that this is anything but MLF's call? Were MLF, Gute, and perhaps Murphy all involved in their hiring? And would there be a discussion about the firing? Probably both yes. But I'm guessing the lion share of responsibility is on MLF. Firing is never easy (I've managed people for 15+ years), but I don't see anything here that wouldn't provide ample reason for NFL process. The only positive I see is that Joe Barry's contract is up at the end of the season. I'm not sure if this is regarding the DC or just people talking. If it Joe Barry, players quitting on him is certainly a reason why you fire him now and not wait. If Jaire is doing the same thing, I appreciate him just being quiet about it instead of mouthing off like this. If Campbell is lipping off about the media complaints... well get some thicker skin. You'd never play if you didn't play through injury because you are always injured.
  12. When an OPS is in the .900s, then sub-.900 fielding percentages are a lot easier to live with. No. A sub-.900 fielding rate is not acceptable anywhere on the field. Typical SS fielding rates are .950+ at the MLB level. No matter how much you think a 900 OPS bat overcomes defensive liabilities... no one in the MLB agrees with you. Thus, if Baez can't improve his fielding, he will not be a SS.
  13. Does it really matter at this point? I'm sure someone can step up and do it for 3 games. If MLF was firing people left and right, then "no one would feel safe" in a bad way. When Barry has 3 years of bad results... I think it is safe to say that no one will see it as a rash firing. Personally, I can't wait for him to be fired and people will stop slandering my real name. Can we just call him Joe instead?? 😂
  14. Well, it used to be based out of Madison...
  15. Joe Barry. Agreed. Moving on. I've wasted plenty of breath there. Walker and Douglas don't seem to work well together. Specifically, Walker seems much less effective when Douglas starts. Not as much because Douglas is making the plays... Walker seems much less connected to wha the D is doing. Running around fast, but rarely in a place to make plays. Love does not play well when blitzed. Ignore the stats that we put on the screen, because it is a paper tiger. I've not seen him: 1) Identify a blitzer and shift coverage, 2) Find the open WR vacated by the blitzer, 3) Make a dangerous play when blitzed. Yes, he completed a bunch of short passes to WRs for short gains, but he is missing the soft spot in the D. Not that he can't learn this... just something people will continue to do if he can't make them pay on it. Great start for Jones... then nada. Where'd he go? Hope it was a pitch count and not just "forgetting" your main playmaker. Wicks: welcome back. We missed you while injured. Doubs: He is there... but not there. Makes a few nice catches each week, but just doesn't step up when we are short like now. Samari: Bo Melven is active over Samari? Not a great sign for the guy. An egnimatic guy. Kraft: can't wait to have Musgrave back with Kraft. They are gong to make a wicket duo. Stokes: Barely saw him out there. Which is good for a CB because it means they were going elsewhere. Nice day back. Granted Valentine was barely tested either... they just kept going to our very soft gooey center of the D. Nixon, ILBs, and Safeties gave up everything today. Ok, I lied, a Defense question: Do we ever blitz? I don't remember a single one.
  16. Very well stated... sad but true. But I'd separate the actions of a diva from the actions of a champion. (Note: I grew up in the Jordan era and hated him as an avid Buck's fan - Terry Cummings, Brickowski, Pierce, Pressey, Alvin Robertson, etc...). The champion fights for the best - teammates, coaches, best efforts, etc... Jordan fighting Rodman in Vegas (lack of focus/ distractions) was to keep out distractions. He was notorious for getting the most of out of his team (i.e. Pippen) or if they didn't live up to move them out (Tony Kukoc). But his simply WON. Jordan took fairly ordinary teammates and elevated them to stars (or burned them out). But he was nearly unbeatable in his prime years - as frustrating as that was for a Buck's fan. LeBron is the consumate diva. The "crown" he was given as a teen went to his head and he didn't deserve to wear it. The whole ESPN "look at me hour" to announce his FA decision? Wow... look at me everyone! You could argue he is doing the same thing... fighting for the best to win... But I don't see him elevating those around him... I see him gathering all-stars. That is why - to me - the GOAT argument between the two is easy... Jordan took regular people and elevated them. LeBron needed already established stars to do it. I don't have an issue with Giannis fighting for players or coaches when it is about making the team better. I just don't care to see him chase stupid "trophies." NOTE: he said here that he was giving the ball to his mom, so it certainly wasn't about Dame...
  17. There is no doubt the Pacer's actions were childish (or d-bagish if you prefer). The point is to not let them drag you to their level. I pretty much gave up on NBA basketball because of the diva starbase (thank you Lebron!). But I came back because GA has been truly unique. He has been humble. He resonates with the regular joes. He makes bad jokes and laughs at himself. He is a truely likeable star. That is why the actions of that night seem out of place for him. Knocks down a Pacer after a layup? Chase down the Pacers for the game ball? Just unnecessary and out of place for him. As for the "work on the court"... I'm referring to playing with Dame. GA had a great individual game against the Pacers, but we all know that isn't sustainable in a 7 series game. The team still looks like they are running in 2nd gear. That will hopefully come in time... but it takes work. Perhaps he really was sticking up for Dame (which would go towards building the team)... but it still was a ball. Seriously how many gameballs do these guys keep in their trophy collection anyway? GA is entitled to an "off night"... I'm just hoping dealing with all the divas and jerks of the league doesn't alter him into becoming one of them.
  18. If prefer he chase respect on the court instead of balls off the court. It sounded childish to chase the Pacers back to their locker room. We have a lot of work on the court that is necessary to win another championship. We don't need the distraction of "he stole my ball" I love GA's carefree attitude...I hope he isn't becoming a diva.
  19. A disappointing end but still an excellent season. I didn't get to see the last game, but watched a few through the season (including trouncing MN which is always fun).
  20. I'm kind of torn about Giannis' actions lately... I'm seeing/hearing them secondhand, so maybe there is more to it... but he runs down to the Pacer's locker room for the game ball?? Then questions if he got the right ball?? Seems a bit childish to me... Better set to let the team officials get the ball back.
  21. You can not lose that which you never had. Seems like every year we look at the green grass in someone else's pasture instead of appreciating the green grass we have.
  22. I only need someone to mention "dumpster" diving and I'll already have my Brewer offseason Bingo! Wouldn't be the offseasons without people questioning the minor moves.
  23. So much for Bob Uecker pimping Usinger's sausages!
  24. Can he hit? He gives me Brooks Kieschnick vibes.
