  1. We also cleared up 2 roster spots so it might be interesting to see who is available in the buy-out market. Never much there, but some C depth might be good. with Ibaka gone.
  2. Uh... the NFL is controlled by star QBs. nearly every SB is won with having a star QB. So what is the difference? And the Packers essentially did this for 2 years with Favre until he retired, we drafted 2 backup QBs and then he unretired.... thus basically requiring us to trade him. It could be worse... we could be the Vikings... or the Bears... or Detroit... Its just horrible cheering for a team with back to back HOF QBs and a league leading championships...
  3. Yeah, Ax-man doesn't make this list IMO. Also, I'm surprised there was no shout out for Trevor Hoffman. His numbers with Milwaukee don't compare, but he did achieve his 600th save as a Brewer and retired after 2 seasons with the Crew as the all-time saves leader.
  4. The Giants and Seahawks might be good landing spots for him in the NFC for well built teams with semi-questional QB situations... And I get the feeling Dak is wearing out his welcome in Dallas, but I doubt that will happen this year.
  5. Hasn't that what the last few offseasons have been all about? Take a look at Rodger's numbers the year before Love and the year after... coincidence? Perhaps. Or he was playing made to show the team they made a mistake. Since then, every offseason, he makes veiled comments to the media about the team not wanting him, no one talks to him, blah, blah, blah... Then Gute comes back and has to kiss up and stroke his ego. Rodgers talked about the 49ers draft slight a LONG time and used it as motivation to prove them wrong. He continues to tell people he is from Butte Community College when he introduces himself for those TV lineup announcement (no idea why he doesn't like CAL anymore). And of course there is the infamous family split. The guys runs on percieved slights and snubs. If his next year or two end up like this year and he retires on a low note, it wouldn't surprise me to see him "disappear" from the NFL scene and only show up at the HOF ceremony.
  6. Time to sign Freddy to the Bucks!
  7. I get that strong defense, deliberate offense isn't going to be all that "sexy" to the high end NBA one-and-done recruits, but that really isn't our playground anyway. Bo was pretty adamant that they were a recruit and develop spot for 3 and 4 year players. Gard seems to follow suit. I'm a little torn on Gard myself. Seems like a solid coach that gets the most out of his team, but it does seem like we are perennially ranked out of the 25, only to crawl ourselves back into the top 25 (or even 10) and then become a wall flower at the dance. Would be nice to see a team or two that had enough clearly talented players that we didn't have to outperform expectations every time to get some respect.
  8. I wonder how much the transfer media buzz of players flocking to WI has helped with the HS recruits. Certainly has to perk up a kids ears to see all sorts of 3 and 4 star recruits suddenly transferring in...
  9. Noise from LV that Adams wants his cake and eat it too. I'd say that is one logical landing spot for Rodgers. I keep hearing SF, but I don't buy that Rodgers will knock the draft day chip off his shoulder yet. I can see the NYJ going for him...not sure Rodgers would go there either*. Maybe the Broncos try for Rodgers again... oh wait... they don't have any 1st round picks for the next decade now... *While Rodgers doesn't have a no-trade clause, no team in their right mind is going to trade for him without his consent.
  10. yes, thanks. We realize it isn't current. That doesn't change that it is still the best logo.
  11. Yes, I would because he is still legit enough QB to win a SB. But no he won't because Rodger's first love is Rodgers.
  12. Ball & Glove Logo is the best logo out there. Hands down. They gave him the best of the best.
  13. If I recall correctly, the Packers nearly exhausted their season ticket waiting list back in the late 80s after two decades of futility. But they could lose 100% of their season ticket holders, refill the stadium with people waiting to get tickets. Yes, some people resell their tickets and that is the only reason they get the tickets (the in-person scalping tradition has gone back a long ways), but It will take may years of abject failure to exhaust the list.
  14. No reason to be down in the mouth about the situation... 😂 Sorry, I'll show myself out (and yes, I've had 2 root canals...one of the emergency vareity)
  15. I'm sure I'll get to in in the next 3-4 years... 😂 I just watched the entire Godzilla King of Monsters so I can watch Godzilla vs Kong. (Which I'll say was "ok" ).
  16. Not that we have had many rough patches, but of course it happens. Packers don't make $$ on resale of tickets though. And there are 140,000 people on the waiting list (as of May 2022). Oh, and we were still #4 in home attendance last year; 10,000 fan average more than the Vikings (at #21).
  17. It's insteresting how GMs have drafting strength and weakness trends. Gute has done well in the 1st round, but the joke was that TT should always trade out of the 1st round. He had a ton of misses. Wolf was a mixed bag in the 1st and 2nd round, but made hay in the 3rd and 4 rounds. All three seem to find 4th/5th round OL pretty well. If Gute could draft the first round, TT take the second (especially WRs), and Wolf take 3-7th... we'd have tons of talent.
  18. Sounds like Jerry Gray (DB coach) might be headed to Atlanta for the same position. Kind of sounds like some of the D's communications issues are being thrown his way. Seems like he was an improvement for us. But given the lack of any Jimmy Leonhard rumors for any DC positions, I wonder if this might be an opportunity for JL to step back into the NFL and stay close to home at the same time?
  19. Rick Manning's main claim to fame is as the guy that ended Paul Molitors 39 game hitting streak. Not a fair claim to fame (he had a game winning hit with Pauly on deck), but that still is the only thing I remember him for...
  20. I'll give Deer #5 just for Easter day 1987. 😉 But yes, a sentimental favorite of mine as a kid - Moliter then Deer for my 12 yo self. Burnitz was #1 in helicoptering bats into the stands and was certainly a nice find on a bad team, but Yellich's peak as MVP give him the edge, IMO. I forgot how good Hart actually was....
  21. They are going to have to increase it to two calls in order to pay the increased commercial costs...
  22. Don't overthink the invites. Bringing in your high end MiLB players into MLB camp is a common development move. The future rookies get to know the MLB players, coaches, and the expectations of both. They start to get a taste of the bigs as a motivation for the future and a reward for past progress. This is a simple development move for our top end talent. Yes, each has a decent chance of making the MLB roster at some point this year, but they don't have to break camp on the 26-man roster for this to be a smart development activity by the club.
  23. Yeah, Scott Po was a fun story as a waiver wire pickup, but Mr. Untuckem' and LoCain certainly were better CFers. I mean Cameron should be #2 simply from how he annoyed the Cardinals so much by untucking his jersey!
  24. Rodgers had his issues, but mostly with his injured thumb. If Adams stays and Gary is healthy, I think it is a very different season.
  25. Frankly, I'd expect it to work just like that... I mean, the advertising agencies aren't dummies. They know what works. Not a drug example... but back when I bought my first computer (a sweet 25MHz x486 with 250MB HD and 2MB RAM), my dad wanted to give me whatever advice he could in making this $1000 purchase. My dad is very blue collar and loathed technology. So mustering all his knowledge of electronics, he asked me, "Did you get Intel inside?" When someone is struggling with something and it is in an area they aren't comfortable with (i.e. medicines), yes they will default to TV ads.
