  1. And defer $38M over the next 20 years... I doubt it. Playoff income should help the coffers a little bit. I don't think we were exactly pushing the line last year either. Plus you have Rhyse coming off the books.
  2. Rotation? Companies often rotate VPs/Directors to get experience and develop them for a higher role later. Perhaps Rickie has his eye on being a GM and this was a development stop. Or maybe he just didn't want to coach? Maybe he has a personal situation where he can't travel all the time?
  3. A bit early for him in development, but I wonder what Savion Williams can do to fill in for Kraft? He can block better than Musgrave and if you go to a 10 package and the defense goes into dime, you can run out of it better. Statistically, Philly is winning beyond their numbers. Their defense is giving up about the same number of points as their yardage ranking, but their offense has scored far more than their yardage rankings would imply. Seems like they are getting a bit lucky?
  4. I don't see any updates on someone signing Asante Samuel Jr yet... or do you know something Google doesn't?
  5. Not to mention MM was never implicated in a scheme to pay defensive players to take out the opposing team's QB... Dude should've been banned.
  6. I thought about adding that, but got wrapped up in his offense numbers and forgot! He is no Bill Hall, but... 😂
  7. Both players have LH/RH splits, but they aren't equally good/bad vs the opposite handed pitching. Jake was 769/561 OPS vs RH/LHP. Vaughn was 661/859 vs RH/LHP. (including time with CHI-SOX) 2025 stats only for both Clearly Vaughn is going to get every start vs LHP. Going simply by numbers that gap might lead you to think he should be starting against every RHP, but that wasn't the case. He only had 52 starts last year (LF and DH included - too lazy to split out those numbers). 2026 was significantly better than previous years for Jake (career splits are 688 and 611 OPS vs RH/LHP), so maybe he gets more chances this year. But I tend to expect more of what we saw in Aug-Oct (avoiding Vaughn's crazy-hot streak in July)... which is Vaughn getting 60-70% (estimate) of the starts.
  8. Prepare to be disappointed. His LHP/RHP splits are way too wide for him to play every day. Plus with Vaughn on the team, a RH version of Bauers with better numbers, they are destined to split the starts 60/40 or 75/25 with Vaughn getting the lion share of starts.
  9. OBP is an area where Frelick could grow. Would be nice to see him improve his current 6-7% BB rate up to 10%. He potentially could be a 300 hitter also. He only hit 20 doubles last year... you don't need to hit HRs to improve your slugging. I don't see much more than an 800 OPS from him in any given season, but it is certainly possible.
  10. I think you'd have to assume that he follows his brother to 1B or at least DH at the end of the contract. If he remains healthy enough to stay at catcher, it is a bonus. Plenty of catchers have done it well into their 30s.
  11. I hope the QO (assuming the team knows his health situation very well) is a given for Woody. $20M for a SP of his caliber (even with health concerns) should be a no-brainer. 1 year mitigates the risk, too.
  12. Maybe "long term" was overstated... the Brewers put together the last deal to (theoretically) avoid arby this year. Perhaps they can cover the next two years and buy a year of FA (obviously no buyouts if you do that)? Or at least avoid arby this and next year.
  13. Rewind one year and people were complaining about Chad Patrick being added to the 40 man roster (though some of it was based on him over Shane Smith). Still, he was a player that many expected to be 7th or 8th on the SP list and ended up making a major MLB impact. I wouldn't expect that of Crow quite this year (less AAA experience), but their profiles aren't that dissimilar as SPs (i.e. more pitchability than pure stuff)
  14. Then it shouldn't be a first down if the 15 yards moves you back behind the first down marker.... You should only get one or the other.
  15. Maybe declining the option will spur talks for a long-term deal instead?
  16. I use Waze on a daily basis as my commute can shift daily based on traffic and construction. Overall, I like it better than Google Maps. But it is HORRIBLE for finding a restaurant when you are on a trip. It will either find stuff behind you or at your destination. My Garmin 25 years ago knew how to find restaurants on my drive in front of me... I use Google Maps for that. Sadly, both are owned by Google, so I have no idea why they can't fix it. Try a shammy. I bought a sponge wrapped in a shammy cloth and wipe down my windshield dry. It gets rid of most things. I'm sure with window cleaner, it would do better. I get a few streaming platforms for free with my Tmobile plan, but I'll pay for NFL+. I can watch any game as soon as it is completed for $100/season. Wait another hour and I can watch a full game in 45 minutes with only seeing snap to tackle of each play. Or watch the full 22 view without announcers... Last Sunday, my family went to the Zoo in the afternoon. I came home and watched the Packers. I don't feel the need to watch it live anymore. Live life first!
  17. I saw the 785 OPS and thought... Wow, he did a lot better than I remembered! Oh, it was 721...
  18. 17 min, but you get about 75% of all scoring plays: The Buck's team is interesting this year with the balance in scoring. Giannis is 30+ points and 5-6 other players run @ 10-15 points each. A pretty natural way to run with the hot hand. I would like to see Turner on the court more when Giannis is not, but that is challenging with Kuzma and Portis both playing in that Giannis-less space also. Turner ends up being another 3pt shooter which Giannis out there. Perhaps they can setup more plays for Turner to shake things up?
  19. Playoff repeat but in Green Bay instead of Philly. Big questions include: Which Packer team is going to show up? The offense has been very inconsistent from week to week. The defense has been steadier, but still has its own challenges. Packers losing players - Kraft is the big one, but other injuries have popped up as Wooden, Golden, Hobbs (an actual improvement) and Banks (again) dropped out of the last game. Philly gaining players - Here comes the return of Jaire Alexander...but maybe that is a good thing? His coverage has been very Hobbs-like this year (when healthy). But Philly also picked up a CB and DE recently too. Here we go under the bright lights of Monday Night Football! (I still miss Hank Williams)
  20. He hasn't been an All-Pro guard for a few years. He has been in decline... even at G. I thought the move the C would actually improve his value. But it didn't... No way we trade him. No one is taking him for a $20M+ salary next year. Josh Sitton is a pretty apt comparison. Losing Ben Sims is a nothing-burger. Sure, we need a TE now, but might as well go grab a PS player that might have more upside. Sims started out as below average and hasn't improved.
  21. If people are ready to give up on Love, I'll say you've been too spoiled by our past QBs. He made a significant jump this year and you really need to see that. Not just the numbers, but in certain throws that he didn't make in years past. I've been one of his critics this year, but mainly pointing out things that hold him back from being a Tier 1 QB. Against the Steelers, he looked exactly what we expect from a Tier 1 QB. But then didn't yesterday (again failing to handle blitzes and making quick instinctual decisions). Dumping him now would be a bad idea. MLF has his weaknesses, but I'll still say many items you guys rail on him for fall in Love more than MLF. Play clock management, for example (not play calls when managing clock, but getting people lined up on time). Honestly, he reminds me of MM a bit... really good at somethings, but struggled at others. He is easily a top 10 coach in the league with only a few clearly ahead of him... again tier 2 and not quite tier 1. I don't think it will be easy to replace him...and very easy to get someone worse. Jenkins. Not enough people are talking about how poor Jenkins has been at center. Career path for him has been downward since his rookie year. Twice yesterday, he slid over for a double team and totally missed a blitzer right up the middle. He was so focused on the double team that he didn't even react to him running a couple feet from him. We'd be better off with Josh Myers back at center... (not to mention Jenkins over Banks at LG). D-Line was also horrid yesterday. Seemed like there were very few stops made by the DL and the LB were making initial contact 3-4 yards down field. Really need better depth there behind Wooden. As poorly as Young played yesterday, we should've won that easily... I've held my tongue on Banks and Hobbs...trying to be patient and give them time to get healthy and acclimated, but wow that FA class is looking REALLY bad. Banks is fine when he plays... but that "when" is rare. Dude is made of tissue paper. Hobbs... well, we couldn't even play him at slot CB and have him produce. I wasn't expecting a shutdown CB, but he is significantly lower than his Raider numbers too.
  22. Looking at how Doc is using his PGs now, there would seem to be plenty of time for both Rollins and KPJ.... at the expense of Anthony. Even if KPJ gets the start, having Rollins off the bench and getting starter minutes is a real option. KPJ and Giannis worked really well together last year (though he and Rollins seem to have clicked too). Both players are still pretty young and developing, so playing the hot hand for the night isn't a terrible idea either. But long-term Rollin's 3pt shotting gives him a decent leg up on KPJ, IMO. Both PGs can take it to the rim, so that is a nice luxury to have when the offense stagnates.
  23. Yeah, bringing in BP arms is pretty much a given. They do every year and they are never anyone people expect, so I don't bother. 😂 All my ideas are moderately expensive, but I wanted to start with the premise of what is even available. So many times people complain that "we need to go sign a 3B with GG defense and his 50 HRs", but that person doesn't exist... So I start with even who is available in FA that we could attempt to sign. If there isn't much... no sense complaining about the Brewers "digging through the trash heap" when that is all that is available. Like at SS. We know we aren't going to get Bichette. Second place is IKF and some utility SS that aren't any better than Ortiz. So we either live with Ortiz, move Turang over, or sign IKF...
  24. I've not seen a game yet either, but reports are his defense has been excellent. Given how much Lopez has been a defensive liability for the last couple of years (i.e. drop defense on screens), even that upgrade is worth it. I'm sure it will take him a bit to get into an offensive flow with Giannis.
