  1. Rea, Theilbar, Civale... Cubs using former Brewer castoffs? Ironic that Civale has looked good in the BP after the Brewers informed him he'd be better off there. Too bad it's been with the Cubs.
  2. Someone needs to look into that Judge's campaign donations!
  3. But you can't be all in this year AND draft a QB in the first round!
  4. Did you ask your professor for an extension?
  5. I merged it with the other forum thread that already existed, but it looks like the News/Rumor article discussion doesn't show up in the forums anyway...
  6. He needs to be added to the 40 man roster this offseason to avoid it, but that isn't a Sept call-up decision. Though the need to add him anyway makes it easier to justify adding him now.
  7. There is something about this picture that reminds me of Jake Taylor from the movie Major League.... lefty (here) instead of righty (Jake). Maybe just the body type and lack of earflap?
  8. Boy I miss the Wendy Selig-Prieb days...
  9. What if they already spoke to him about this 4 times already? I had an engineer that continually let his work take longer than he needed by doing far more detail than required (often using AI to dig into rabbit holes of deep analysis). I pulled him aside several times, in my office a few times... finally I kicked him off the project. People were shocked that I wouldn't let him finish the task he was working on. Tip of the iceberg. People only see the tip.
  10. I get a variety of news articles, sports articles, etc... but the MLB articles are RTB (75%)or MLB.com (25%). They are never BF or BCB...which Google knows I read. Now, I have clicked on those links occasionally to see the article, but I rarely go to RTB otherwise.
  11. I noticed that I'm getting a lot of "Reviewing the Brew" articles on Chrome when I open a new browser window. Google puts a list of articles that "I may be interested in" below my search bar and pinned shortcuts. This is besides the fact that BF is one of my pinned shortcuts. I read a lot of BF articles and BrewCrewBall articles, but none of them ever show up there. Maybe RTB is advertising with Google to push their articles... because it isn't because I regularly go there. Just an observation / idea if you are struggling to get traffic.
  12. The Brewers have the best record in the league by 2 wins. The manager that has won two straight MOTY awards makes a slightly controversial move to send a message to his players. The players respond POSITIVELY to it. And the fans whine... this speaks more to the dog days of fandom than the actual state of the clubhouse...
  13. The negative reactions (not this article but other places) to Murphy's approach is hilarious. People will speak out of one side of their mouth about how spoiled players are in professional sports, but then criticize a manager that actually takes some disciplinary approach to players on the team. And then to criticize the manager that is currently the 2x MOTY.... on a team that is consistently winning... on a shoestring budget Yeah, start paying attention and taking notes on how to change instead of criticizing him. Old school is the new school.
  14. Sturdivant or Neyor: If you can only keep one and will lose the other... which do you pick? Hopefully we can keep both as they seem like high-end development candidates (i.e high RAS, poor production, need development on routes). I was going to pick one, but I think I might be flipping even as I write this, so I guess they are neck and neck in my head.
  15. Looks like Adams is back in the AAA lineup. He went 3-5 last night. The most likely option for a Sept call-up, IMO.
  16. Ah man, the daughter from Remember the Titans! I didn't see anything else she was in, but she was great in that movie.
  17. We can always hope that he loses another flyball and jumps at a couple more HRs 20 feet above him during the playoffs to reduce the fan factor. 😏
  18. I think this could be a breakout-offensive year for Love. He has plenty of talent at the skill positions (save for depth at TE)... but it will all hinge on OL play. The key to beating Love is pressuring him, as with many QBs, but the difference is pretty stark. If the OL is strong (and MLF doesn't run the ball 50% of the time), I think we have a good chance at 4000 yards and 35 TDs I like how the defense is coming together... better than last year, IMO. Obviously getting a healthy Parsons back, is the key, but they will be a top 5 defense if he does. CB concerns have lessened with Cisse and Hadden looking strong, but it still the team's weak spot. Edge without Parson is a little concerning with a lack of any on field performance, but for 5 games I think we can survive. Winning the NFC North should be achievable. If everything clicks, the SB isn't out of the question. I'd say they are in the top 8 teams overall.
  19. 53 main predictions: QB: It's all about Taylor. He has not looked good and it wouldn't surprise me if he isn't the backup QB - whether they go with McCord or grab someone else. McCord reminds me of Matt Flynn a bit; not uber dynamic but knows where the ball needs to go. RB: No surprises. Pierre Strong looked good, but not good enough to make the 53 man. WR: Nayor or Sturdivant - hope we can keep both. Probably one makes the 54 man. TE: Depth is very thin. I'd guess they grab a waiver or trade someone and stash Dabney in the PS. OL: Top 9-10 seems to be set, but some injuries make us thin at T. I see Jennings being #10 a lot, but he seems like a lower end version of Burton or Monk. I'd rather keep 9, stash Getsky/Wade in the PS and not worry if we lose Jennings. DL: Lots of depth this year. Wouldn't surprise me to see a Brooks trade (to shore up another area) or just standing pat and putting Campbell on the PS. EDGE: We have depth with potential, but without game production... so the big question is if we just move forward as is or go trade for Sweat or other player that has more experience. LB: Pretty much set in stone since the beginning of TC. No changes. CB: Main concern is that Jackson hasn't had any field time, so do we just keep him because he is a draft pick? Hadden reaching out and grabbing the backup Slot CB. S: I think we keep more CB (and perhaps a ST WR?) and thus only 4 safeties this year. Those 4 are obvious. ST: No need to talk Smack here, but it looks like Orzech starts the season on PUP. If all goes well in the first 4 games with Adomitis, why would they change for a minimally different player like Orzech? Adomitis is 3 years younger.
  20. The question will be if the teams that do poorly in the international realm is because they identify the wrong talent or don't want to spend the money? If it is the former, the top end talent is going to be available late when the Brewers pick anyway. But the Brewers seem to be able to find the diamonds lower in the "rankings" anyway.
  21. I'd be shocked if Hadden is cut. He is showing promise in the slot to backup Bullard, he can play outside CB, and we don't have a ton of depth. I've been debating McCord vs Taylor... Taylor looks very uncomfortable in the pocket and is throwing balls all over the place (probably related). Neither he nor McCord have had great OL play in front of them, but McCord seems to know where he needs to go with the ball when stressed. I think if they really want more experience, it won't be Taylor. This weekend will be interesting for both of them. Regarding Lloyd, he goes down pretty quick on contact, but he hasn't had many carries and his OL hasn't done him any favors when he does get them. The speed is evident, but I think it will take some time in live play to get the vision back.
