I disagree. Yes, we play the game to win the WS, but each year 29 teams leave disappointed.
The regular season was enjoyable. Winning the Division when everyone thought Chicago would take it was wonderful. The hot streak was incredible. Woody coming back was awesome (until his injury again ). Losing tonight would tarnish it, but not diminish my enjoyment of the season.
Having said that... this isn't the end. This team fights and doesn't give up (like many of their fans here have). We end tonight with a WIN and keep going.
The playoffs are hard. We play the best of the best. It will never be a blowout because you don't get this far by giving up.
This makes it hard on our nerves, but that is part of the excitement. The hardest games (emotional rollercoasters) were the ones where the Packers won the SB (and maybe the 1 loss) and the Bucks winning the NBA championship, but man was it worth it.
Buck up, be strong, cheer hard, and may we forever hear Uecker's "Get up, Get up, and Get out of here!" as our battle cry for victory.
