  1. One thing I've noticed about this team is that they don't seem to do cold weather well. They seem to play better every spring when the weather warms. It isn't freezing, but it is still much colder than many of the Latin American countries. Playing indoors in Milwaukee and in LA might be a better outcome for them.
  2. Seriously should just open with our closer... Ugh!
  3. As our resident optimist... I am so disappointed. 😂
  4. Score 15 and we can have Jake Bauers pitch!
  5. Rod Carew, Paul Molitor... many examples of great players that struggled to teach the things they did well as players.
  6. So you want Miz, Ashby, and/or Gasser pitching with the wind blowing out?
  7. There was a lot of grousing (not saying you, but plenty of people) in the game thread yesterday about starting Lockridge and Bauers. Then Bauers had a great game - 2 for 4 with a HR. Perkins and Lockridge both had equal bats and results (0-2). Our entire season success was on team success and matchups and not a single "A-Team". I pity the fool! 😉
  8. I posted elsewhere, but a BP game makes no sense to me. Peralta is the team ACE. Time to close it out. Doing BP means you have Ashby and Miz pitching a second game before Peralta gets his second. Fastball Freddie it should be.
  9. Yesterday burnt Quintana, Patrick, and Priester as our long arms in the BP. Doing another BP game means you want Ashby and Miz to pitch a second game in the series before Peralta does... No, pitch Peralta in Game 4. If he pitches tonight, you'd still have him (on regular rest) for NLCS Game 2+Game 6 and then cued up for WS Game #1 . Yes... I'm looking that far ahead.
  10. He has a three week window to be activated. That means they must activate him after three weeks (or put him on season ending IR), but they can activate him anytime in that window.
  11. The shine is coming off the Deion hype train. More of a promoter than a real coach, IMO. There is a real trend among coaches where the most talented players make terrible coaches because so much of the game came naturally. Better coaches tend to be the players that were more limited and succeeded only because they understood every nuance of the game to compete with more talented players.
  12. Collins did have a rough Sept, but what I don't understand is why this board gave up on him so much. Everyone has a rough month. Vaughn did too (and the PaleSox board started rejoicing until he snapped out of it). Collins was a major reason we got here this summer. Dance with the one who brung ya.
  13. A tough start last night, but the Brewers fought back to make it close. Just stop the Cubs in the first inning and the series is ours!
  14. I disagree. While they won... they had one big inning and nothing (again) after that.
  15. So I think tomorrow is easy. Just start the game with our closer - Uribe shuts down the first. The Cubs don't score after the first...
  16. I suppose you go Bauers-Frelick-Chourio in the OF then...
  17. Vaughn plays 3B if we tie or go ahead?
