  1. What is up with DPJ? Must be something beyond his lack of production
  2. I logged off for a bit and you guys let everything go crazy... This is going to have to be a "we'll see" draft. Nothing we can do about it now, and post-draft grades won't mean anything. Thought for certain DPJ was going there with his massively high RAS. Just hope Gute isn't being "too smart" for his own good.
  3. I've heard he is a better fit inside than a DE in a 4-3.
  4. I'm glad he is on the AFC. I can cheer for him easier. If Baun slips to us at 62 do we take him? I'm just not sure he is a fit.
  5. we need to get Rodgers weapons. I don't care if its WR, TE, offensive line up. if they have a good night tonight, it will soften the blow of the love pick. I'd love to have 2 TE's that have the ability to catch passes rather than are just glorified offensive linemen like Lewis. I see Kmet as a young Lewis. Mostly a blocker that will catch some passes. Hence, my comment. We can get some half-back types at the end of the draft to fill the TE need. I'd prefer more of the move TEs/WR initially to help the offense. SI's 2nd/3rd round re-mock today has Pittman making it to GB at 62, and Logan Wilson at LB in the 3rd. I'd be thrilled if that's our day 2. +1. Perfect second day.
  6. It really is amazing how many articles I've seen mention that Love was hindered by a head coach change as well as losing 9 offensive starters between his junior & senior year... ...without naming the head coach as the guy who quit on the Badgers to go to Oregon State. Doh! I saw igor67's comment on Gary Anderson and wondered why the long-tenured NFL kicker owed us anything...
  7. Part of me thought about that last night. Has there ever been an NFL trade AFTER the player is selected? I know the NBA does that all the time but wasn't sure how the NFL handles that.
  8. I'd prefer Pittman, but wouldn't be surprised at Claypool. Don't want Kmet as he seems like a solid pick, but not really what we need.
  9. [sarcasm]Favre's analysis of the pick is in: HAHAHAHAHA[/sarcasm]
  10. I'm not surprised by Love. I'm surprised by Love with Jones and Queen available.
  11. I'd guess at least 5 guys from that list are near locks for the team (J.Williams, Ervin, Lewis, Tonyan, and MVS). Shepherd is and St. Brown (and maybe D. Williams) seem more boom/bust types with a huge range of potential outcomes from impactful to fall-on-their-face-bust. But the rest of the group, I tend to agree with you.
  12. Specifically, I was talking about his measurables at the combine in comparison to Driscoll. Its not a huge difference, but Driscoll was just a bit better in every category they both completed. Tausch had great form and balance, which is why he had such a great career. And all good reasons why combine measureables aren't the only criteria to consider when drafting.
  13. Jack Driscoll gives me a Mark Tauscher vibe. I've not seen him play, but just that baby-faced, pudgy body style. Seems that Driscoll is more athletic than Tausch was and will be drafted higher. Driscoll will be delighted to have Mark's career, I'm sure. Side note: I found Tauscher's draft profile page. He was "graded" as an "F" for his combine results. Certainly a good example of a pure football player and not an athlete.
  14. It’s why I picked Mercedes Lewis. At least he will block well. The rest of this list is just full of stinkers. That is fair. I was trying to be positive ( ), but it is a good chance that none of them will be productive.
  15. Agreed. If we trade pick #30, I'd wager we are going down instead of going up. As brewcrewdue80 said, we just don't have the capitol to move up.
  16. Gronk coming out of retirement plus Brady leaving makes me wonder about what is going on in NE "under the covers". Perhaps the wheels are coming off of Belichick's regime...
  17. New England - Hmmmm... Let's use a retired player to trade up from the 7th round to the 4th round. How do we get in on that action?
  18. I left out Sternberger because people's expectations for him are higher. He hasn't broken out, but if he was in the pole, I'd expect him to get 90+% of the votes. Similar with Lazard. He didn't really breakout last year but close. This was trying to see what else might come out of the guys with lower expectations on them..
  19. I've not seen the documentary, but I remember pretty much all of Jordan's career. He was an amazing player, but I think he "ruined" the game too. He was pretty much the start of the superstar-iso-and-foul era of the NBA. He took advantage of the NBA's tight rules on man defense only and he simply wasn't guard-able in a one-on-one. But there were SO many touch fouls, especially if he missed a shot. The Bucks were a decent team at the time - annually in the 4-6 seed playoff spot. But were annually blocked by the Bulls. I can't imagine Giannis playing in that era. Wow, he would've tore that up. Jordan had a better jumpshot and better at the FT line. But wow, the dunks that would've happened...
  20. I'll vote for Shepherd. I like the diversity of skills he brings from our prototypical 6'4" WR, so I believe he will get more opportunities. He fell flat last year, but I predict a second year jump for him. Honorable mentions to go Tonyan and St. Brown. - I thought Tonyan was going to break out last year, but never seemed to get any traction behind our poor TE play. He'll have more opportunity this year sans Graham, but it was obvious in the playoffs that Sternberger passed him quickly. - St. Brown lost his sophomore season and I thought he was sneaky good at the end of 2018. But its also troubling that what sounded like a "simple" injury kept him out the whole year. Hopefully it was just more serious than reported and not that no one had interest in bringing him back. MVS troubles me. Seems like he has a ton of talent, but just can't put it together
  21. Excluding Adams (obviously), Jones, Funchess, Lazard, and Sternberger, which of our lower expectation WR/TE/RBs will make the biggest impact to the passing game in 2020? There is still talent and opportunity, but who will take the step?
  22. But even with Rodgers, a good backup is necessary. Most QBs that come at the end of the 1st probably need to sit one year anyway (I don't think Rodgers would've done well Year 1). So ideally, we are probably 1 year from "perfect" timing, but if someone falls to us that we really like, we shouldn't pass on them either. I'd be disappointed with a RB/FB, TE, C/G, or Safety (do I have to add P/K/LS too?) in the first round. If we pick a CB, DL, OLB, or QB, I'd look closer. Obviously, the biggest needs are WR, OT, and MLB.
  23. I'm speculating on my retirement too, but I'm still 20 years away. We really need some new sports news...
  24. We are in agreement with the difference in his actions that year and when Rodgers was drafted. That was my point to adambr2 above. But still, he didn't file the paperwork to make his retirement official. He went to the Jets in early August and never missed a game. Wasn't much of a retirement. His announcement and subsequent retraction AFTER the draft was what actually swayed my opinion to move on. He has been talking about it for a couple years and I was fine letting him play out. But that one was just too much for me. Felt like he was just jerking the team around (forcing them to have 4 QBs). At that point, I was in the boat for getting rid of him.
  25. Yeah, Isaiah Simmons is a pipe dream, even to move up and get him. I've seen Queen around in some mocks, but not too many, but quite often Queen and Murray are pretty close to the same area. So I was curious to see so many mentions of Murray and none of Queen.
