  1. HiAndTight, can you please add your edits into the list? I can almost guarantee I'll get it wrong if I have to edit the list. Also, please remember to leave out the commentary on your list. It makes it much harder to parse the list correctly, especially if you name someone else in the commentary of another person's list (Bucci/Scarpetta). Thanks, CWH
  2. It's the AAAA pitcher who has enough upside to spend his career bouncing around between MLB and AAA. Why do people keeping dumping on Fiers? I mean, at least let the guy fail at some level before you rag on him. I'm not expecting a #1 or #2 SP out of the guy, but he is a smart pitcher that keeps winning. I don't know if he has long term potential as a SP or BP, but he deserves the chance.
  3. How can Peralta go from being dominant last year to horrible a year later? I pointed out earlier that his walk rate was the main change from last year. And unfortunately, of Peralta's career results (for walks), last year was the outlier.
  4. Looking more like Fiers is going to be promoted to take Estrada's start. Of course, Peralta should be well rested...
  5. No one can play every game at catcher. I have no problem with resting 1 out of 5 for a catcher; hot or not.
  6. Ok, its about time to start a new User Driven P50. It seemed to work pretty well last time, so lets keep the format about the same: 1) Please list your players 1 to X (stop at 50 or 30 or 1 if you like) with no commentary. I plan on cut-n-paste into Excel to do this, so less work is appreciated! 2) Only submit one list. If you update please update your original list. 3) Please list one player per line. 4) Submissions will close in two weeks-ish. So around June 9th or so. Results will be pretty simple. First place vote gets 50 points, 2nd, 49, etc... Last user P50 is here
  7. well, its about time to see... Lets start it again. I'll open a new thread to start up a new version.
  8. Well, San Francisco is whine country... sorry, couldn't resist. And they seem to like cheese-heads with their whine
  9. Then technically he would turn into Dave Bush the first time around, not the second, right?
  10. Marco can go through a lineup once just fine. Second time around he turns into Dave Bush. Ironically, that was David Bush's problem too.
  11. It's like having 1 Ford Escort with a blown engine and buying another one with a blown transmission for parts so that you can create a working Ford Escort. Well, if it results in us having a working Ford Escort, its a big improvement
  12. I don't care what they do with their hair as long as they play good baseball. So you agree that Rickie should cut it off then...
  13. "I've been working on my breaking ball the last three outings. It's totally different, a different grip. I used my pointer finger as my spin finger, so I got rid of that and moved to a more traditional grip. Today was the best I've thrown it." This was also the main knock some BF.net people had on him when we drafted him: his "loopy" curveball.
  14. I don't care if its 1 or 10, he needs a chance.
  15. Will Roenicke be smart enough to never, ever let Perez pitch to a RHB? I'm guessing no. But would be thrilled to be wrong He still keeps putting Loe out there against lefties...especially big hitting lefties.
  16. I think about Little Pine almost every time I pass a construction zone...
  17. Drew Gagnon (Gan-yo) I would have never guessed the pronunciation...
  18. The guy has an average MLB fastball Link please. Everywhere I've seen (which is a least a year or two old now) states below average FB.
  19. Believe it or not all these injuries may end up being a good thing. Getting some picks by trading away players might be an ok consolation prize, but its never a "good thing" to miss a decent shot at the playoffs...
  20. Because the chances of an A+ pitcher succeeding at the MLB level are minimal. Going from A+ to AA is a big step (remember Heckathorn dominating A+ last year, then stuggled mightily at AA?). Going from A+ to MLB is huge... It just doesn't make sense. Fiers has more upside than Burgos, also. He is two years older than Burgos but 2 levels higher. Fiers has either dominated or pitched well at every level he's been at so far (including a cup of coffee in the bigs). Burgos has a 1+ month stretch and 3 years of blah.
  21. Is Heckathorn getting snubbed as we talk about all the prospects this year? His numbers are really good this year. His overall numbers seem even better than his ERA. 37 K to 7 BB. I gave him a little love: Kyle Heckathorn - Like Khris Davis, Heckathorn killed A+ last year, but struggled mightily at AA. And while, he didn't quite make the Hot list this month, I'm liking his WHIP, K/9 and BB/9 rates he is putting up: WHIP 1.094; BB/9 1.6; K/9 8.58
  22. I'd advocate a bump to AA, but not a chance to MLB. He's had a good stretch at A+ ball at age 24 in his second attempt. If he was doing this at AA, maybe. Not a chance from A+.
  23. I would have hoped that signing Hairston would have precluded us from ever signing Izturis...
  24. Where is Billy Hall???? Not sure if I'm kidding or not anymore...
