  1. '"But he missed the call and then a short fuse, a very undeserved ejection. We'll see how he handles tomorrow and see if he has a carryover and he gets upset and wants to take it out on us." I certainly hope so! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. For example, Wil Nieves was with the Brewers during this year. Then he got released and joined a different MLB club. If the Brewers had been using the scoreboard or whatever to signal signs to the hitters, wouldn't he know about it and say something? If the Brewers are stealing signs, I'm pretty sure they weren't telling Wil Nieves. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. I would think a healthy Garfield would be back at Wisconsin next year.
  4. Welcome bcb3473! We always welcome competitor's fans that come for intellegent conversation. For some that is harder than others, but... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Obviously this is a big series, as any win automatically gains a whole game in the series. Even if there is a sweep (either way), there is plenty of time left, but the Central has recently become a 2 team race so all the head-to-heads are big. May the best boys in blue win!
  5. but I can't resist an opportunity to post a photo of my man Rob Deer. SWEET! I always liked Yount and Molitor, but Deer was always my favorite as a kid.
  6. I expect the Brewers to sweep the series, culminating with Gallardo striking out 22 in a perfect game shut-out. At that point, Chris Carpenter will ask his son to explain that to him... FYI, JSOnline poll has the Brewers getting: 0 wins: 4% 1 win: 30% 2 wins: 56% 3 wins: 10%
  7. That clown with the Homer Simpson avatar is the best. He found that the p-value for the Brewers' home record is 0.057. His interpretation? There is a 94.3% chance that the Brewers are stealing signs at home. He also said that this is the same as saying "There is a 5.7% chance that this could have occurred simply as the result of variation." Re: Garcia, I think Hawing made a very good educated guess about anxiety disorder. It can be a really rough condition, and if he's dealing with it, I hope the team helps him get it sorted out. No, I'm sorry, but its been proved that the only reason that he can have such home/away splits is that he is cheating. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  8. former brewer drafree Kyle Eveland Why do we draft anyone's little brother if we never sign any of them? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. 25 years ago, Glenn Braggs was a stud future HOFer as well. Ouch, now I feel old. I still have his autographed rookie card.
  10. Yeah, this month was shooting fish a barrel...
  11. Welcome! I don't remember Pinson, but I seem to be from the next decade of those that do. But Barry Larkin was awesome - at least his first name - no personal bias, I'm sure. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Without a bit of homer-ism, I can say that bf.net is a really great forum that is obviously Brewer-slanted, but also has a lot of intelligent BB discussion. I've learned a lot here. And the mods do a great job keeping it on the clean and level. *hat tip*
  12. Here is the pertinent part of the chat mentioned above: Q: Brian, Suamico WI - What's the situation with Taylor Green? Is he on the list of PTBNL in the K-rod deal? Sure would have been nice to bring him up. We're 4 months into the season, and I don't have any faith in Casey hitting any better than .230 with an occasional big hit mixed in the rest of the way. A: Tom Haudricourt - Taylor Green is not on the K-Rod list. But the Brewers don't want to bring him up and put him on the bench. McGehee has been swinging the bat better and they're going to stick with him. Q: Tom, Milwaukee - Tom, any guesses as to what minor league players might be on the list for the Mets in the K-Rod trade? I would hate to see Taylor Green go without seeing if he could be our 3B of the future! A: Tom Haudricourt - Taylor Green is not on the K-Rod list. I was told medium prospects at the best.
  13. I've seen many people including myself posting after the game yesterday. I was on yesterday afternoon (just post-game), then again last night and now this morning. No probs.
  14. One of the things that mystifies me about the arrogance of some Cardinal types toward the Brewers is that Milwaukee and St. Louis may very well be the two most similar cities in MLB. Both cities have blue collar attitudes, people are generally pretty friendly and approachable, quality of life matters more than pace of life . . . St. Louis has worse summers and Milwaukee has worse winters, but basically StL is a slightly larger variation on Milwaukee. Tuesday night, I was reading the IGT on the redbirds site. Towards the end of the game, they were mocking the attractiveness of the women in Milwaukee. And someone made the comment, "That's why they brew so much beer up there". Ummmm, HELLO? St. Louis -> Budweiser? I could only shake my head.
  15. At 6-8, Holle is a towering enough drink of water Sounds like Bob was channeling "Flo" from the TV show "Alice".
  16. Reliever David Goforth fanned four through two innings, using a filthy fastball that reached 97 miles per hour. NICE!
  17. The team needs good comic relief. So its his impressions that keep him on the team, not his pitching....
  18. Now let's see what excuses TLR can come up with for this one. They kept changing the height of the mound! Must be on hydraulics...
  19. it's like seeing a bald eagle in it's natural habitat, very rare and breathtaking. Come over to the Mississippi river. They are everywhere.
  20. Yeah I don't really get this; their bullpen can't really be that bad that he is sending him out again after 100 pitches and 9 runs. Its like he is trying to kill his new toy Gotta teach the new kid who's the boss in St. Louis...
  21. It's pretty clear by now that this game is all some conspiracy between the Brewers and the sun. Miller Park needs curtains!
  22. With runners on first and third, haha.... Doesn't matter. Its Bernie up in the club house! Or maybe he was checking the light on the pitcher's mound....
  23. TLR just wanted to make an appearance..... It was time to change the signs...
