I'm curious where this has been "established"? Certainly the new TV deal means less money than they were getting, but I've not seen anyone quantify this anywhere (or their overall budget in general beyond historical speculations).

The news anchor said it best last night. He was handing off to the sports segment and he said, "With all the other news going on today (president taking office, MLKJ day), I completely forgot that the NCAA football championship was tonight". I think they diluted the importance of it by having far too many games and then running it into the NFL playoffs. If they could keep it the first week of January (like the bowl games used to run), I think they'd find more interest. But as long as they are making $$, it won't change.

I have to imagine that when you are a coach from the previous OC/DC regime's selections, that you are going to have a short leash anyway.

Easter Sunday 1987. I was glued to the radio as a 13 year old. That season and that day in specific solidified me as a life-long Brewer fan. Uecker's calls was a big part of that.

My company is also the OEM, so when regulation requires us to do requirements, documentation, and testing (guess EXACTLY what I was just talking about between my last post and this one....) to meet the regulatory requirements in order to ship our products. So there aren't many arguments on doing it...just what "good looks like" and how long it will take.

This and quantum computing are reasons I don't invest in crypto. 😉

I'm closing in on 30 years of embedded SW development and management of teams of developers. Knowing AI is a tool and using it wisely when you have a well trained model (both big conditions) makes it powerful and useful. But I fear that instead it will be used to make people lazy and we lose the ability to know what good code actually is... and we end up with mindless zombies flooding bugs into our products.

Given his injury history, I doubt teams will take on his $$. Cut him and several teams will be happy to sign him to a 1 year prove it deal, but not at the $16/18M base (plus some bonuses) he will make the next two years.

Since you gave an opinion about what other people's opinions were, I simply asked for a basis on how you formed that opinion. I could say, "My opinion is that you think I'm smart", that could very well be my opinion... but not based on any knowledge of your opinions. Quite literally, I said, " He isn't a bad QB" and "he (Love) might have a similar trajectory (to Hurts) of being very good, but not great." If you've seen my posts in the IGTs this year, I've been critical of Love and his play. Not because I think we should dump him, but to identify the things that are holding him back and there are some basic things to work on. Hurts is probably going to be what he is now. 4+ years of starting and he doesn't show much variance to his play or results the last 3 years. I'm assuming he has pretty much plateaued in his development or have some minor improvements. Love has been starting 2 years and I see some basic improvements he could be making to his game yet (blitz identification and reactions, better understanding of the holes in the D. If you want to compare the two today... they are comparable, close, neck and neck. If it came down to Hurts being better today, fine. I was looking for which one had the better upside, which I think Love still has a chance to improve more. In a game where the best QBs win most of the SuperBowls, having just a very good one shouldn't be the goal.

Seeing any data on that would be interesting. Otherwise, this just sounds like your opinion on other people's opinions...which is weird. Hurts was the "hot" commodity a couple years ago, but the shine has started to fade. He isn't a bad QB, but he isn't a great one either. I've not been impressed by his arm in the least. He is a challenge because he can run, but that only gets you so far in the NFL. And tends to deprecate quickly in a QB's career. I guess if leg squat stats are a QB criteria... Honestly, Love is a bit on that same trajectory... he was the hot new QB last year. This year showed some warts. If he can't bounce back next year, he might have a similar trajectory of being very good, but not great. The main reason I take Love over Hurts is that Hurts' ceiling is better defined (and he is pretty much there). I think Love has better opportunity to have a higher ceiling as he has a better arm.

The idea that Mike McCarthy would go from Dallas to Chicago is kind of funny. He would go from one team with a meddling owner and questionable culture to another team with a meddling owner and bad culture. Even Williams and Prescott could be seen as very similar style QBs. Maybe a bit early on Williams to say that, but there are certainly similarities.

I'm not convinced about Jordan Love quite yet, but I'd take him over Hurts.

Well, I was about to complement Slaton on his play today and that happens. However, this might be his best game of the season.

Still a winnable game(somehow), but wow do we need something to change on offense. On defense, it becomes clear that getting Williams back at safety (moving Bullard to slot CB, Nixon to outside CB, and Stokes to the bench) has been a bigger move than getting Alexander back at CB. Walker and Cooper could be a very interesting combo in the future. Would love to see Cooper at MLB and Walker at WOLB, but still...

This offense is disrespecting its own defense... 🤢

But instead we get penalized because the Eagles knocked the ball out of bounds...

We are really cueing it up for a massive comeback in the 4th to lose by 3pts...

Why doesn't Love/Jacobs push Kraft? Seems like they could help more.

Love certainly is solidly in the "good" or "very good" QBs and not elite, but he is in the second year starting. Favre was almost replaced by Brunell at this point. Not saying Love will figure it out, but he needs some time to learn how to win.
