  1. Hopefully you are right. The sampling of pitchers that I saw had the injection were on the months of recovery instead of weeks. For example, Kodai Senga had it at the end of March last year and was back pitching in July.
  2. I wonder what are the chances of Amos returning?
  3. That should also help prevent elbow injuries... The only reason someone takes leave before the baby is born is if there is a medical issue with the mother or baby... so frankly, I'd take an elbow injury to Nester over the other option.
  4. I'm just praying that Priester's offspeed stuff will play in the thin air because his FB has been a BP pitch... Could be bad to see that flying out of the park often tonight.
  5. Mercury was between the Earth and the moon??? I'm trying to figure out if this was a typo or bad April Fool's joke? 🤔
  6. Not only did I catch the game summary which showed most of the comeback, but I got to watch the MN news highlights and the Timberwolves side bemoaning the loss. #shadenfruede 😏
  7. Also, the Spurs are out of the playoffs, so why even risk it with your young star?
  8. Yeah, I checked on recovery times and it listed a couple weeks to multiple months... I'd guess this type of injection is something you do if you are on the upper range of time and not the lower range. I think the example was that it could save you a couple weeks off of an initial few month's recovery time. 😬
  9. Sure we could. But why stop there? The return will be better if we trade them away with 3 years remaining! I think the problem with your complaint is that we traded a high WAR person with 1 of year control for multiple lower WAR (for now) players with multiple years of control (well, except Nestor). The Brewers are playing the "long game" whereas the team trading for Burnes or Williams are going for the "now" return. Quinn Priester trade was the opposite - we got the guy that is MLB ready now. He is guaranteed to have more MLB impact than Yophery, the draft pick, or the PTBNL. Adames was a case where we felt having him for 2024 plus the draft pick comp was more than we would've gotten in a trade. It just depends on what your goal for the trade would be.
  10. Copilot response for what a PRP injection is: A PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) injection is a treatment that uses a patient's own blood to promote healing in injured tissues. Here's how it works: Blood Draw: A small amount of the patient's blood is drawn. Centrifugation: The blood is then spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. Injection: The concentrated platelets are injected into the injured area, often using ultrasound guidance to ensure accuracy. For pitchers with elbow problems, PRP injections are commonly used to treat conditions like UCL (Ulnar Collateral Ligament) tears, tennis elbow, and chronic tendinosis. The growth factors in the platelets help reduce inflammation and promote tissue repair, potentially speeding up recovery and reducing pain I would assume that if it was a tear, it would've been reported... so tendonitis?
  11. So you didn't believe it when they said he was in the best shape of his life? 😂
  12. There is never a wrong thread to announce a Cooper HR. I was lucky enough for the Brewers to play late, so I turned on the Shuckers and got to see it. 😀
  13. Must hurt a little for Wolfram to be given up on so quickly by an organization known for reclaiming guys like him. Certainly it was a 40-man roster spot decision, but still...
  14. That's good information!
  15. I wonder when Giannis' kids will be draftable? 🤔 On a positive note, Bobby should be back tonight. Hopefully Dame is back for the playoffs and well rested. All I ask is that everyone stay healthy and available for the playoffs for once... If we lose, lose with everyone. Just sucks to keep losing with key people out.
  16. Well, thank goodness Nester delivered last night so we didn't get scammed... 7 games into a 162 game season... 🙄
  17. Feels like he is a bit early to me. He certainly grew a lot this year, but I don't feel like he is a 1st round pick.
  18. And since he played for 4 HS teams, that makes 8 teams in 8 years. 😬
  19. The only way it isn't a mistake is if Smith basically tops out as a replacement-level player. There are a couple of players they have now - including Thomas - that I'd bet will have less chance at producing a positive WAR than Smith.
  20. This is kind of how I predicted the picks. There are three DEs that fit that profile. I think Scourton is more a 2nd rounder, but who knows... I was waiting to see how he compared here. Dude just constantly looked like a football player out there with outstanding instincts (hello Jimmy L). Now that he showed he has legit athleticism and a football size, he has to go in the mid rounds right? If he is there in the 6th grab him! We don't need him... but I think he is just going to be one of those guys.
  21. Just like any draft... the proof is in the pudding. We fans always have our favorites and disappointed by what actually happened. But then we look back at it years later and it isn't so clear anymore. When they signed Amos, P Smith, Z Smith, and Turner people were happy with Amos, luke warm about P Smith, and upset at Z Smith and Turner (who are these guys???). All four turned out to be good signings. No idea if this year's FA class will be the same, but Gute has enough history on multi-year FA signings and really not missed on any one of them. Jimmy Graham was expensive for what he produced, but he did produce - that was the closest thing to a "miss"
  22. That must've been it! The front office typed up a list of names to protect and autocorrect prevented Shane Smith from being added because we tried to add Steve instead... 😂😬🤦‍♂️
  23. These threads always feel like being in 6th grade where that one friend of yours finds out that you have a bruise on your shoulder so every time he walks by, he punches you on the shoulder and makes the bruise bigger. It is pretty clear the Brewers made some mistake... bad scouting, planning, hoping he'd slip through, "wait, he wasn't already on the 40 man and we missed the deadline?", etc... Good luck to Steve. If we lost one gem, we've also found many gems with the end of the roster churn.
