  1. So you didn't believe it when they said he was in the best shape of his life? 😂
  2. There is never a wrong thread to announce a Cooper HR. I was lucky enough for the Brewers to play late, so I turned on the Shuckers and got to see it. 😀
  3. Must hurt a little for Wolfram to be given up on so quickly by an organization known for reclaiming guys like him. Certainly it was a 40-man roster spot decision, but still...
  4. That's good information!
  5. I wonder when Giannis' kids will be draftable? 🤔 On a positive note, Bobby should be back tonight. Hopefully Dame is back for the playoffs and well rested. All I ask is that everyone stay healthy and available for the playoffs for once... If we lose, lose with everyone. Just sucks to keep losing with key people out.
  6. Well, thank goodness Nester delivered last night so we didn't get scammed... 7 games into a 162 game season... 🙄
  7. Feels like he is a bit early to me. He certainly grew a lot this year, but I don't feel like he is a 1st round pick.
  8. And since he played for 4 HS teams, that makes 8 teams in 8 years. 😬
  9. The only way it isn't a mistake is if Smith basically tops out as a replacement-level player. There are a couple of players they have now - including Thomas - that I'd bet will have less chance at producing a positive WAR than Smith.
  10. This is kind of how I predicted the picks. There are three DEs that fit that profile. I think Scourton is more a 2nd rounder, but who knows... I was waiting to see how he compared here. Dude just constantly looked like a football player out there with outstanding instincts (hello Jimmy L). Now that he showed he has legit athleticism and a football size, he has to go in the mid rounds right? If he is there in the 6th grab him! We don't need him... but I think he is just going to be one of those guys.
  11. Just like any draft... the proof is in the pudding. We fans always have our favorites and disappointed by what actually happened. But then we look back at it years later and it isn't so clear anymore. When they signed Amos, P Smith, Z Smith, and Turner people were happy with Amos, luke warm about P Smith, and upset at Z Smith and Turner (who are these guys???). All four turned out to be good signings. No idea if this year's FA class will be the same, but Gute has enough history on multi-year FA signings and really not missed on any one of them. Jimmy Graham was expensive for what he produced, but he did produce - that was the closest thing to a "miss"
  12. That must've been it! The front office typed up a list of names to protect and autocorrect prevented Shane Smith from being added because we tried to add Steve instead... 😂😬🤦‍♂️
  13. These threads always feel like being in 6th grade where that one friend of yours finds out that you have a bruise on your shoulder so every time he walks by, he punches you on the shoulder and makes the bruise bigger. It is pretty clear the Brewers made some mistake... bad scouting, planning, hoping he'd slip through, "wait, he wasn't already on the 40 man and we missed the deadline?", etc... Good luck to Steve. If we lost one gem, we've also found many gems with the end of the roster churn.
  14. Oh, that is a good starting point for @treego14's poem!
  15. Now to get the thread back on track... I did not see Civale's injury before. Our SPs seem a bit snake-bit this year. I take solace in the fact that last year's rotation was pretty wonky the first half of the year and we ended up finding Myers as a result of it.
  16. @markedman5 I never said it was click-bait... I even stated that it was a legit link. I said it was a click-bait MOVE... i.e. leave this site and go to another site to read information. The link itself it fine when you want to give credit to someone for content, but then post what you want to discuss. If you need a place for bookmarks, every browser has that feature available.
  17. Please post more than just a link. While this is a legit link, this tends to be more of a "click-bait" move. You opened a thread... what point are you making?
  18. And crud... my post from yesterday had the double-doink gif in it... but now doesn't! .... time to fix that again!
  19. Your comment was on @LouisEly's comment about a bears fan, so I was just clarifying whose timing miss it was. And the fact that it is still there. 😉
  20. Well, that would be on the site administration... The Twin's site got the Packers and the Cubs' site got the Vikings.
  21. I don't know what people want from Gute frankly. Did I want a DE out of FA? Absolutely. But there were only two guys I'd even consider and one re-signed before FA opened. One of the worst thing you can do in FA is spend big money on mediocrity. We signed two FAs and people said, "Who??". But looking back at Gute's history of FAs (at least the bigger $$ guys), he has been very strong. Jimmy Graham was probably his worst signing and I'd say he was "ok". A lot of money, but he contributed. Billy Turner was probably the next worst but he ended up being a solid add as OT depth and starter. Both Smiths, Amos, McKinney, and Jacobs were excellent FA signings. Turner, P Smith, and Z Smith were FAs that people also said... Who? They worked out well. I'm willing to wait on Hobbs and Banks to see how well they perform before panning the signings. Gute's history is far better than the million FA ranking websites. Packer's are ranked 10th in FA spending this year. That is pretty aggressive considering the team we already have. We aren't like the Bears that failed drafting for the last decade and have to sign everyone and their brother to find talent.
  22. I think the Chicago Bears are the perfect representative of April Fool's day. 😂
  23. I'm guessing it is about the number of Ks rather than being tired. I'd guess he is pressing too hard this year and might need to slow down, calm down, and refocus more than rest. But I do think he should be in the lineup. Maybe drop him down to 5th or 6th for a game or two might make the point?
