  1. I see a lot of trade ideas to replace Adames next year (including 3B or 2B options and sliding Ortiz/Turang to SS), but what about internal options? Boeve looks like a downgrade defensively, but that probably has a smaller impact at 2B. His bat on the other hand would be really nice if he can approach his MiLB numbers at the MLB level.
  2. Funny how much love the Viking OTs get, yet Walker is pretty close to O'Neil and ahead of Derrisaw on that chart. With Tom obviously light years ahead of them both.
  3. I know most of the posts were in August before Ashby "returned", but looks highly unlikely Ashby is anywhere but the Brewer's roster next year. And that is a good thing.
  4. When copying someone else's content, please remember to include the link. I edited the OP, but just a friendly reminder to give the credit when using someone else's content.
  5. Ah.. I miss Gado. Flash in the pan as an RB, but a great guy, story, and production when we needed him.
  6. The original Dumb and Dumber, eh!
  7. FYI, anyone is welcome to make the gameday threads. I have the last couple weeks for the same reason you did... I had something to start the conversation off with. And yes, Mr. Jones has always been a class act. He is my biggest worry in the game Sunday. We did poorly against JT and the Colts. Jones is very much the same back as JT. Plus we've seen him torch many teams when healthy. Of course... just like all the other former Packers become Vikings... we love you until you put the purple on. Then we love you when you take the purple off. But it is enemies in between. It would be funny if Packer fans started tweeting with the hashtag #FREEAARONJONES again. 😂
  8. Maybe it's my G&G glasses on, but there is part of me that thinks he isn't overly bright about money matters and surrounded himself with sleazeball managers that suggested the idea without full disclosure of what the impacts really would be. Like how most (all?) of us don't bother to read the license agreements when signing up for a new web site or installing software. "Yeah, we found a great way to fund this project from 'the government'. Should we go get that money? Sure, sounds great!" But either way, Favre has to own it because he was ultimately responsible for it.
  9. For the graph, I assumed @homer's prediction was in jest...but he is a homer... 😉
  10. May you be 5 low! 😉
  11. We underestimated Murphy's Law. 😉
  12. Unless you think he is lying you should probably do both.
  13. Doh! I actually forgot that... He was one of the singing monks in season 1 also. I just started season 2.
  14. I'll take that! I'll also take sweeping AZ and the Dodgers to atone for past post-season failures. 😉
  15. I just discovered "Galavant" on Hulu. I heard it described as Monty Python meets Gilbert and Sullivan. Comedy that busts out in song several times in each show... but they sound more like Weird Al parody level songs.
  16. The Tom Brady ads can end already. I get it... he was a great QB. But I don't watch football to hear Tom Brady. So hyping a game by saying he is announcing it has to be a major insult to the teams actually playing the game...
  17. It's trending more and more that Love is going to play after one day's rest, so that is a positive. But he still needs to play better than game 1. While not Bears QB bad, 50% completion rate isn't the level he needs to be at. Plus he had many shots at the endzone with minimal success. Got to get Watson and Musgrave going in the red zone! Plus, the easy way to prevent missed FGs is to score TDs!!! 😉
  18. Wilson CAN play MLB. But so can I. Doesn't mean he should. Wilson had a great game last week but his history is the of a below average starter and never at MLB. There is a reason he is our first LB off the field. Not to mention taking turns with Cooper. He is best as a backup and ST. In four years as a MN starter, Wilson only had one season close to the same stats as Walker put up in both his first two years. And he had 3 years of significantly less production. MN thought so much of him that they let him walk in FA. He bounced between two teams the next year before sticking with us as a ST specialist. Koonce was an UDFA LB that was developed over several years and not a savvy vet that we plugged into the defense and made an immediate difference. Koonce's first two years were just about the same as Walker's. Koonce didn't do anything significantly better until year 5. And that was one year and then he fell off the cliff after that.
  19. Note: When copy/pasting from an external site (especially this much of it), post the original link and make it clear what is your words vs the copy paste. Italics or indentations normally make it clear. I mentioned this before but I see slow progression of Walker in his three years: Year 1: Played with his hair on fire, but out of control often. Year 2: Under control more, but still out of position often, wrong lanes, blocked very easily. Year 3: (small sample of 2 games), he is in position more often, but still struggles to finish the plays. Yes, they are small gains, but gains none the less. He isn't going to be Ray Lewis, but I do think he is a starter in the NFL. I do believe he is better suited for a 4-3 OLB, but no idea why that article said Cooper wasn't an MLB. I'd bet that once Cooper gets better acclimated, you will see him take the MLB with Walker moving out. McDuffie then playing Wilson's role in base only.
  20. I tend to think (hope?) that Cooper will eventually take over at MLB and let Quay run at OLB instead. My guess is that this was the plan until Coop got hurt and stunted his development. Now they are playing him 50% with Wilson to get him in the game. I'd suspect by mid-year he is starting; possibly replacing McDuffie. Might be next year before they'd swap Cooper and Walker (unless an injury forces it). But seriously? We think Wilson being plugged into MLB is suddenly going to better at MLB (a position he doesn't play)? He had a great game last week, but often pairs them with bad games. He is a great ST player, and good backup LB, but not great starter. That is why he is going 50/50 with Cooper now. One might say with fans like this, who needs enemies? 😉😂
  21. No doubt he came in raw as a player. His calling card was 99% physical properties and has been learning to play the position. As a rookie he was all emotion and speed and it got him in trouble. Last year he played "OK", but clearly learning the position. This year, he is getting in the right spots, but not always able to finish the play. There is improvement, but it is taking time. It will be interesting to see Cooper and he on the field at the same time. That speed has a lot of potential to make a special defense. And by special, I mean top 10 (at least top 15). That unfortunately is "special" compared to what we've had. 😂
  22. With CC running south to the north side, I feared losing Hook more than losing CC...
  23. I think posting a selfie should be required after this comment. 😉
  24. How many SBs did the last Heath Shuler win?😂 Sorry... I just wasn't expecting a SB discussion with Heath Shuler included in it. History has a pretty good record of showing that the game-manager QB with strong run game and top-5 defense can win SBs, but not often. The easiest way to win a SB is to have one of the top QBs of the year and surround him with as much talent as possible.
  25. So just like the Packers (knee injury with an inexperienced backup), but for longer. Any FA QBs in NCAA-land? Can they transfer mid-season yet???
