  1. See the other replay where it did... It touches the ground when he had no control.
  2. Melton really making a name for himself though... wow he really has found a spot on this team...
  3. I don't ever want to hear the whiners say the refs give the Packer's all the breaks... Crap calls.
  4. Ford and Rasual Douglas have been pretty good at INTs, but Ford has been on/off with injuries. Jaire has never been much for INTs, but improving there. Savage was good early and faded. It is odd though with all the zone we play, you'd think we could get more INTs.
  5. Wow, has it only been 10 years? 😅 Fun blast in the past. Kind of odd how many of these players were highly ranked, fell back down, and then climbed back up - Taylor, Williams, and Lopez.
  6. I understand what you are saying, but I just have less faith in bitcoin stabilizing than you. I know at sometime it will... but which one and when? Real Estate and Stocks are sufficient enough for me to stay ahead of inflation.
  7. Yes, his second half has been amazing. All my friends that are Viking or Bears are furious... 😂 I also saw Jaire's press interview responses today. Good stuff. Communication wasn't good between he and MLF. The suspension pushed the issue, forcing them to work on it (hopefully resolving it). Glad to see him not doubling down against it. Now hopefully he can shake off the rust... he didn't look so hot when we returned a couple weeks ago.
  8. I'm not sure where you are in your retirement journey, but I'm not touching bit-coin at this stage of my life. I have no doubt that one of them at some time is going to pop. But it is such a high fail rate (or at least volitility), it is pretty much the antithesis of real estate and gold. Thanks for the advice guys. I have some money in Vanguard Index funds, but hadn't considered using their advisors. @LouisEly, would you feel comfortable investing with your friends at EJ? Not that I'd be working with the same people, but curious about company culture.
  9. Yes, this is my main concern... I don't want 1-2 years of revamping the roster to match the scheme. Also, I'd like to see a DC that is able to change things up and create some confusion on the offense. It seems like we do the same thing each game with minor adjustments so it is easy to game plan for. Nor do we adjust to what is going on in the game. We obviously sold out to stop Sequon Barkley against NYG, but had absolutely no adjustments to stop Devito gashing us with QB scrambles.
  10. I would assume those assignments were given and scheduled long ago (to book travel, hotels, etc..).
  11. Has there been a game with 0 Frantrums yet? The over seems automatic!
  12. Yeah, I think the choice of the next DC is critical to keep Jaire engaged. He is going nowhere (maybe the IR) next year due to his contract. But if you bring in a strong leader with an attacking D (hellooooo JL), I think Jaire will be all in. Zimmer came to mind also and could be interesting, but I would be concerned about him relating to the younger players now days. With a 4-3 D, I think we'd have issues with our OLBs and DL matches. Clark and Wyatt would be fine in a 4-3 (maybe preferable for Wyatt). Brooks too. Not sure Slaton or Wooden fit well. Then you have Gary, Ness, and Smith that might fit as a 4-3 DL, but couldn't really flex to be a 4-3 OLB. It can be done, but I think we have good talent for the 3-4 and shouldn't change it now. Plus, I still think the 3-4 fits better against the pass overall.
  13. Given that I'm in that target crowd... I fully supported the move. The old pound the ground with high D philosophy was find to reach the top 10-20, but near impossible to get much higher. I loathed the Gary Anderson spread offense. That wasn't WI FB nor was it even a successful modern approach (unless you can get that one special QB capable of leading it and then keeping him healthy). Not to mention a REALLY boring football game to watch. But if this offensive balance is what is intended moving forward (having a balance of pass and rush), then yes... I'm fully on board. I think we will have a much better chance of recruiting good QBs and WRs without giving up much on the RB/OL front.
  14. Happy 2024 everyone! This year represents my transition into my retirement prep phase. For almost 30 years I've mainly focused on growth of my 401k. Last year, I started figuring out my "number" to hit retirement and think I can make it in the next 10 years or so. But I have some unique challenges and goals with some of my kids and want to start figuring out how to prepare for retirement (especially early retirement) now so I have a nice "runway to land the plane." I'm curious about any advice to pick a financial planner. A friend of mine likes Edward Jones. I have an old 401k in Fidelity... Does anyone have a financial planner? What expectations should I have? Or what questions do I ask?
  15. I'm also for restrictions on how often someone transfers too. Perhaps a scholarship "contract" could help? You need to do 2 years at least? Either for your HS commitment or after a transfer? Or in the event of a coaching change. That should slow down the churn without eliminating it. And get rid of the open transfer portal before the bowl games. Make them wait until after it is ALL done and then deal with next year. With WI/LSU, I swear the second half turned into a discussion about LSU's recruitment and prospects for 2024. Granted, some of that was about the QB... but at some point I was wondering if WI merited any discussion. I think one "partial announcer" was referred to LSU or some part of the team as "his guys"... not sure his connection with the team, but the broadcast was decidedly lopsided in the second half.
  16. Not to mention that the games where we've played really well on D was against very low end QBs. I think his ability to assemble a defense is now firmly established and that ceiling doesn't crack the top 20 defenses in the league.
  17. If I hadn't watched the game, I'd be pleasantly surprised at the outcome and closeness of the score. I figured those two LSU WRs were going to run us out of the building. But watching the game it was frustrating to play so well the first half and so poorly the second. As others said, lack of QB pressure seemed to be the main culprit. But stopping the run seemed to be an issue too. But alas, I remind myself that we were major underdogs and did better than expected. I'm happy for Mordecai to put a nice game on the books as he goes into his NFL draft prep. He really has a nice arm and good scrambling. As for Fickle, I think he will be good for the program. All you can really ask of him in year 1 is that the team continues to improve. And the team did that. As he continues to get "his guys" into key spots, we should be able to easily bounce back to our normal #10-20 range... (and do I dare to dream)... perhaps compete higher than that? I think he has good potential to be a top-end coach.... more so than we've had for a long time. Once we got out big yesterday, I think he got caught trying not to lose and became too conservative; both on the 4th down punts (especially the last one) but also simply too many run calls in the second half (3 run plays from 1st and goal without a big RB?). But you also need to give him credit for the 1st half game-plan that worked well.
  18. Week 17: The Packers beat the Vikings and thus eliminated the Bears from the playoffs. Week 18: If the Packers beat the Bears, the Vikings will be eliminated from the playoffs. Week 19: If the 49ers beat the Rams in Week 18, the Packers would play the Lions in the first round of the playoffs. Thus giving them the chance to eliminate the Bears, Vikings, and Lions in back-to-back-to-back weeks. Now you know how to cheer this week. 😉
  19. Nice to see MLF and Love clicking on the plays. Reed continues to look impressive. Welcome Bo Melton - passing up Heath and Toure on the team... played better than Doubs too. Kraft continues to be impressive. Jones looked like he was back and healthy. We didn't miss Jaire or Stokes at CB at all. Oh and Love... 3843 yards and 30 TDs on the season, surpassing Erik Kramer's 3838 and 29 TDs. The one thing I wanted to come of this season was to see if Jordan Love was a legit NFL QB. Not only did he prove that... he has been one of the better ones in the second half of the season.
  20. 23 yards to go. Jordan Love's 30 TD in a season is more than any Bear's QB ever. Gotta love it!.
  21. Not sure what happened to Doub's hands.. he was so good last year. Not so much this year.
  22. So, less than 2/3rds of teams can find a kicker that can make over 85% of his FGs? And that makes it easy? Mason Crosby didn't make 85% in his first year. In fact... he didn't do it until year 5.
