  1. I know I am jumping in late to this discussion, but shouldn't KC be the team that should be upset at losing JDLR? The Brewers gave him ample opportunity and he was very frustrating for me as a fan and I can't imagine how much as a manager/gen manager. I don't think it is fair to hit Melvin for this one. As someone mentioned above Melvin should be given credit for finding out current third baseman and several other players from the "scrap heap." Who knows Nelson Cruz could stink this year and Corey could go back to the all star performer. Does that make Melvin a genius again?
  2. With Vargas' velocity being down, I am wondering if he is going on the DL for Suppan?
  3. I had mlb.tv and was frustrated with the blackout/video issues 2 years ago. It is costlier but I have gone to Directv Extra Innings and I also have a slingbox which works great for when I am out of town.
  4. 88 wins and a division title. Carpenter will get hurt and Cards fall to second place.
  5. Just saw the tweet. A little disappointed that we didn't sign Bedard or Sheets, but I guess Davis is reliable. With the increase in length of games, I'm guessing the signing will improve the beer sales at miller park as well!
  6. I would add the Gamel is at least a prospect.
  7. It seems that the Marlins are ready to deal.
  8. Who do we use as the standup mannequin with removable clothes?
  9. I am so glad for the MLB network. I haven't put on the booyah network since april and don't miss it one bit.
  10. Even if they were to trade for an established starter with a contract they brewers will need payroll room.
  11. Isn't a .800 OPS average defending infielder for cheap exactly what the brewers want? I would keep him, plug him in at 2nd, 3rd or even left if braun moves to right and spend the money you save for pitching, pitching and more pitching!
  12. The only problem is that the brewers need all of those $10 million for pitcher/pitchers next year if they are serious about contending. My guess is that Gerut plays center next year until Cain is ready.
  13. Silver lining: We used to get this mad when the team was 10 games under .500 now we are mad at one game under.
  14. You give three unearned runs and then ump takes one away. Not in the cards tonight!
  15. That table is great logan. Just to make sure I understand it, to score 1 run, a runner on third with one out scores 47.8% while a runner on second no out scores 34.8% of the time. Or is that you have to add the situations where a runner on second with no outs will score 71.8% of the time and a runner on third with one out will score 66.5% of the time? (For one run.)
  16. Keith Law has mentioned in his online chat that Jack Z was against drafting Yovani. How he knows that I don't know. I don't know how anyone will know who truly deserves the credit or the blame for draft success or failure. My guess there are several scouts that we don't even know the name of that have a lot to do with drafting players. It is up to gm/drafting directors to sift through the data as well as the source of the data. I am sure there are some GM's that are more involved than others.
  17. The problem is that they have to fill thursday and friday unless Burns gets another start.
  18. Do the brewers not teach baserunning? It has been horrible this year.
  19. I think ennder nailed it in another thread. Harden's velocity is way down. He might be headed back to the DL.
  20. I am heading down to the game tomorrow as well and highly suggest the amtrak train! This way you can avoid the crazy parking. The only negative is that the last one back is at 8 pm.
  21. Can anyone explain why Coffey struggles against lefites so much? He throws hard and tends to keep it down, yet lefties seem to hit him hard if they are outs.
