  1. Thirded. He just needed to get it out of his system I guess.
  2. This was you yesterday on a different forum. Have you had gotten your fill yet?
  3. How much does that really matter in the 70s? I feel like teams are not going way under slot in that range. Last year slot was almost $800,000 for pick 73. So it matters quite a bit. You expressed in a different forum that you were out to have some fun and rile people up. To the extent of throwing anything and everything out there to see what kind of crazy responses you'd get. How long do you intend to keep this up? Second question, why?
  4. Everything I've seen and heard suggests Stearns values defense too much to downgrade at the most important defensive position. I don't see Arcia being moved anytime soon.
  5. Well he also tweeted about Lucroy coming back to the Brewers and the Davies / Woodruff trade suggestion after signing Darvish was near word for word what he just posted here so I'd say there's a pretty good chance. Braun to 3b? Lol, that alone should be enough convincing. ETA: Just found the unsurprising tweet locking Brent Suter into the Brewers roatation for years to come.
  6. This is fun. I think I just figured out clancyphile's Twitter handle, @HaroldHutchison. If not, they sure share the same mind. On there putting Braun at 3B after Shaw is traded and dealing Davies or Woodruff once Darvish is signed.
  7. Lol, and a moderator at that. This seems a little reckless, Brad...
  8. I felt like you made that clear enough. Apparently not enough for some. I've now seen it specifically referenced by 3 different people on Twitter.
  9. Well, someone named Brad just took this to Twitter. It won't be long before this blows up...
  10. I think it's just like High Heat says. If move A happens, multiple other transactions follow. The question is, what's move A? Is it trading for Ellsbury and a prospect? Is it signing Darvish? Is it trading Santana?
  11. Actually says OF for a SP "or" a 2B. Now that link is gone. He's edited it multiple times. And now replaced it with a new one...
  12. According to this guy, the Brewers are trading an OF for a SP and a 2B... https://twitter.com/MibeltRodriguez/status/955256647835828224 He's some baseball analyst followed by Heyman and McCalvy
  13. Free Agent: Yu Darvish Years: 5 Cost: $110 Mil
  14. Well obviously they would be pulling the trigger on another trade moving another OF if they do this Ellsbury deal. They already have a logjam in the OF. The BIG aspect of what's going on at MP is probably the multitude of trades in the works.
  15. Quoted for emphasis here. Trying to fend off the anticipated Stearns bashing from the usual suspects for not signing Reed at that price. The man wants to close. That job is not open here.
  16. Anyone who fell for this illegal IR nonsense got ESPN'd and should be ashamed. Also, Merry Christmas
  17. Breakouts, bouncebacks, and sleepers: Hitters going from Carolina to Biloxi and hitters going from Biloxi to Colorado Springs Busts: Pitchers going from Carolina to Biloxi and pitchers going from Biloxi to Colorado Springs Half serious
  18. The only thing clear about this signing is that some of you are reading WAY too much into it.
  19. Let's break this down into simpler terms. The price for relief pitching is clearly inflated. Prices are irrefutably on the rise. None of the relievers on the market have signed with the Brewers. It appears as though the Brewers would have had to offer more to all signed RPs so far with perhaps Swarzak as the one exception. Thus yes, the Brewers would have had to overpay to get someone to sign on the dotted line. Three other points to consider. One, all free agent relief pitchers who could reasonably be considered a positive addition to the pen have not yet been signed. Two, there will almost assuredly be RPs who have yet to sign, who will later sign at lower annual amounts, who will prove very valuable in 2018. And three, the offseason is not over yet.
  20. Not to mention the fact that in the next 12 months the Brewers simply HAVE to trade off some pieces given their looming roster crunch. Better to trade some prospects for a valuable piece than lose them for nothing.
  21. Heck, the value in having an innings eater alone would be immeasurable with the way the Brewers tax their bullpen. But this guy actually gives quality innings late into the game. His value would go beyond the innings he pitches. He would improve the pen by helping to limit their workload. This is a guy I wouldn't shriek at DS overpaying for because of the many underlying benefits his addition would provide.
  22. Let's not forget, just getting him out of the American League in general should boost his numbers. Facing a pitcher a couple times rather than a designated hitter surely can't hurt. Versus NL opponents he's pitched 116 career innings with a 2.79 era, 1.078 whip, .216 baa, .605 ops, 10.2 so/9, and 4/1 so/bb ratio. And the cherry on the sundae is that he's a durable workhorse whose numbers hold up very well and are incredibly consistent whether it's pitch 1-25 or pitch 101+. He also shows minimal dropoff the 3rd time through the lineup. Guys like that are incredibly hard to come by. Much less at a reasonable salary. Yeah no room for that on this pitching staff.
