  1. Hunt in some trouble and not commanding as well. Double sac bunt and now a walk. On a 1-0 count, and a high ball and a SB attempt by Barons, but the throw is to the 1st base side and EBJ cuts it off and tries to go home but to no avail as the runner on 3rd scores. 2-1 Shuckers.
  2. Sweet defense by Biloxi for another 3 up 3 down inning. Nice play on a grounder to EBJ. Then a nice catch on a flare/line to SS. And Wilken snags a hard hit ball. Hunt in command after 4 IP. Root is mercifully getting the hook after allowing 5 runs and only 2 outs. Rough inning for him and hopefully a learning experience. Not much going in Nashville - Sounds with only 2 hits and still down 6-0.
  3. Root is just losing his command this inning. One just comlpetely gets away from him for another HBP. Another run. This is tough to watch. Birchard threw a lot of pitches but did have command. Shuckers do not get teh runner home and on to bottom of 4.
  4. Well the Barons defense lets them down, and Shuckers have another runner on base. Meanwhile, just to report that Garcia/Valerio is not the same defense as Pratt/Areinamo. A grounder up the middle and Garcia tries to slide, and misses it, and Valerio can't pick it up. Everyone safe and it's 1-0 Loons. Then a HBP and it's 2-0 Loons, and no one out, bases still juiced. Root struggling with command.
  5. Hall gives up 2 more and his night is done. Not a great start. McKendry in. And nice diving play by Murray to make it another 3 up and 3 down for Hunt.
  6. Hunt buckles down and gets the K. Nice job. But DL Hall in trouble. and a double scores 2 more. He is not rolling tonight. Bummer Birchard night is done after 3 and Root in to relieve him.
  7. And after a K, two bloop hits and Barons have men on 1st and 2nd. Let's get outta the inning here Mr. Hunt. Meanwhile nothing going for Wisconsin or Nashville in their half of the inning/
  8. Nice bounce back inning by Hall. I Ididn't get to watch, but 3 up and 3 down. On to the bottom of 2. KC Hunt back to pitch in Birmingham with a 2-0 lead. That is a nice feeling for him, hopefully not too foreign for him that he can't pitch with the lead 😉
  9. And Biloxi breaks through. Barons defense just abandons their pitcher. An error, and then a botched catcher to 1B pick off, and Warren gets a hit on a ball that the SS could have had. But I'll take it!! 2-0 Shuckers. Let's go. And TRats up to bat now. While DL Hall back to work on inning #2
  10. Birchard keeps it scoreless. 6K in 3 IP. Nice job. But 60 pitches to get through 3, so needs to get a little more efficiency as he ramps up. Shuckers are threatening against uber prospect Noah Schultz.
  11. Mudcats didn't have the come back rally in them tonight. Meanwhile scoreless across the other games.... wait nope. Jacksonville hits a 2-run HR off DL Hall top of 1. Ugh.
  12. Just to clarify this point, that is 2-7 in games where the final score was 1-0, or only 1 run scored total. They have played in more games decided by 1 run. But, wow more than half of the games were decided by 2 runs or less, I mean that is common in baseball, but > 50% of the games being that tight seems high.
  13. All I can ask is that the team stops trading for relief pitchers at the deadline. 2021 - Curtiss and Norris. Oof. Lost a very good pitcher in the process, and received little value 2022 - Hader trade aside - which was US trading a RP. But Bush and Rosenthal. Big whiffs 2023 - Chafin. Adding no value 2024 - Mears, looking to be a little to no value and cost a couple of decent pitchers. Best relievers have been added via waiver or smaller trades (Megill, Payamps, Peguero, Hudson; and Feyereisen, Cousins, etc on the past). I would have to look back to see the last good reliever that was acquired at the trade deadline for this club. most trade deadline acquisitions have been duds since 2018 and 2019 (Pomeranz and Lyles were surprising upgrades), but relievers have been a major major miss. And in the process lost prospects like A. Kelly, R. Olson, Blalock/Herrera among others who would be good to have in the roster or for other trades. EDIT: for disclosure I made this post and then I saw this article pop up on my google page (probably because I had been searching for info on trade deadline brewers and relievers to research this post). But I did not see this before posting. No intent on plagiarizing the idea, as I just read it now - so this is more of a coincidence. article link : https://reviewingthebrew.com/posts/the-curse-of-the-milwaukee-brewers-trade-deadline-reliever-continues-01j5y52nj0pr
  14. And. Yup. Thanks for reminding us Jospeh. A bump in the playoff lead to 2 (or 2.5?) games up on MBraves. Not a 4-0 night, but I’ll take 3-1 with some nice outings by Shane Smith, Aaron Ashby, Elvis Peguero, and Enoli Paredes.
  15. A beautiful slider I think. Strike 3. Game. Set. Match they are now2-7 in 1-0 games this season. What an odd record. Lots a low low scoring games with these Shuckers.
  16. And the batter just misses. His fly to LF for out 2. 2 on. 2 out. Let’s go Yeager
  17. Yeager gets the first man to fly out to left center. That’s 1 down
  18. Nothing going for the Shukcers. And it sounds like it’s Yeager as no one warming up for Biloxi. 1-0. On to the bottom of the 9th.
  19. And Yeager keeps it scoreless in an eventful inning. Phew
  20. And Sparks scored EBJ. 1-0 Biloxi in the 8th
  21. And Peguero gets the last 3. And Wehrle ends the 9th. 2 wins in the book. 1 loss We Are looking at you biloxi. Let’s go Shuckers.
  22. Peguero on to try to close it. Lets go Sounds
  23. And it’s a laugher. Position player comes in to pitch. Misses two, and grooves one that Eduarqui crushes a grand slam. 14-1. Becoming a laugher. Biloxi still 0-0. Sounds still clinging 4-1.
  24. Tyler Black coming down swinging in his demotion. A triple and now a double extends the lead to 4-1. C’mon Tyler let’s go home run and single next please Shuckers scoreless. But Woessner in TRats keep adding now 10-1
  25. 11 pitches, 7 for strikes. Two strike out. In command of a curve and change I think. Yup FB hit 98, and sat most;y 97. if he is done then this is the 5th great outing for him in a row
