Jacob Misiorowski Highest talent, at AA, but could rank anywhere from 1-3Jeferson Quero Would be #1 for sure if healthy.Brock Wilken Potential is there, and could be #1 by end of the season.Tyler Black Professional hitter. Needs to adjust to MLB pitching. Lack of clear defense has always held him back, but clearly a top 5 prospect given age/level/track historyRobert Gasser Default top starting pitching prospect, and may be off this list sometime this year if he pitches more in the bigs, but could be a chance at #1 prospect status if he doesn't get enough innings in the Show.Carlos F Rodriguez Could rise big by the end of the end or fall big - is April CRod what to expect, or the 2 starts in May more the real him?Mike Boeve He is hitting and as long as he does he will rise.Luis Lara So young for his levelCooper PrattJuan Baez Hits at every level, and still young. Overlooked a bit in a deep system?Josh KnothYophery Rodriguez Star potential, but looks overmatched some nights. All to be expected for an 18 year old in A ball. Hopeful he can learn from his A ball experience. So much variability - could push for the top spot by next year if he puts it all together.Dylan O'Rae Whirling dervish of a player. Gets walks, BHP, slap hits, steals bases, scores from first. A little engine that drives the offense. Lack of power and true defensive home will keep him out of the top 5-10 discussion.Bradley Blalock Nice start to the year. Needs to stay healthy and hopefully move up to AAA to keep his prospect status.Brett Wichrowski Out of nowhere to the top 15-20 discussion. Already in AA less than a year after being drafted.Luke Adams Solid plate discipline. Average is not there, power still is there. Probably a 1B once he moves up. Still so young so still a lot of potential movement up or down the charts.Logan Henderson Make or break year as a prospect. Dominated low A last year, so high A will be a real test, and if he can make it up to AA he moves up the list.Eric Bitonti Still in rookie ball, it's his potential as a power hitter that is the key. Outside of Wilken he is the only true slugger on the list. He can rise, or completely drop off based upon his season this year and next at the plate.Wes Clarke AA/AAA, hits and slugs, can play 1B/DH and catch. Not a true "prospect" but hard to keep him off the list at this time. But clearly his "prospect" days are numbered either due to progression of others, or maybe because he finds the bigs this year or early next.Eric Brown Jr Elite defender. Feels like he has been here for years, but only drafted in 2022. Frelick, Black, Wilken, Boeve ascensions make him seem like a laggard, but he has a year or so to prove it. Defense is MLB ready.
Top 5 are set but interchangeable. Quero missing a year and injury keeps him off the top spot, but would be otherwise. Boeve a big jump. Wichrowski has to join the list.
I have Brown falling, but staying on the top 20 since he is at AA and has elite defense.
Baez is only 6 months older than Y. Rodriguez, and is a hitting machine. Probably a decent IF for a defensive home.
I want to add M. Rodriguez, Y. Herrera among other young pitchers, but still too early on to move them too high. Henderson and Blalock swap spots for me, with Blalock arrow up, and Henderson down until he gets back into action.
This is tough. I like Wes Clarke, and as a hitting/slugging AA/AAA prospect (albeit older for his levels) gave him the spot, but both he and Brown will drop off is the younger players start to perform, and after the draft. Unless EBJ starts to hit, c'mon Eric, find that college ball swing of yours and start to hit the cover off the ball.
