So Priester .... um 35 strikes in 73 pitches, with 5 BB, 1 HBP and 3 WP. Yikes. He did go 2.2 IP so he is starting to throw longer. But his control is ... um 'not there' I wonder if we will ever see him pitch in the majors again - yes I know how ridiculous that sounds, but here is a guy who was borderline ace at times last year, and cannot pitch 2 IP in rookie league very well, and if he does have to do surgery it may be a 1-2 year recovery. I want him to succeed, but that story does not sound great. I want to ridiculed for being wrong on this.

welp, Letson will not get a W for his effort. A double off Birchard, who then looks like strikes a batter out but that beautiful curve is maybe too nice and called a ball. Birchard is then a bit wild and walks the man. Next batter HR to left and it's 3-1 Montgomery. Ugh.

Of the 6 games against Montgomery this week, the starters have done a nice job, here are 4 who went at least 6 IP: Wednesday: M. Rodriguez 2H, 1ER, 0 BB, 5K in 6.2 IP Thursday: Gillis 4H, 2 ER, 0BB, 7K in 6.0 IP Saturday: DeBerry 3H, 0ER, 2BB, 5K in 6.0 IP Sunday: Letson 3H, 0ER, 1BB, 8K in 6.0 IP

Letson's career high 6 IP, and career high 89 pitches and gets his 8th K. Impressive.

Letson's line through 5 IP is now still 3 H and 1 BB but 7K. He is pitching well. His command is not great, but he is around the plate enough. Just some pitches are off, but most are good. Looking more like the guy I remember dominating last spring, although the velo is not as high and the command not as sharp, but getting a little closer. A full healthy season building up the arm and the IP is all I can ask for this young man.

weird sequence - a bunt attempt on the first pitch of the 4th, and it hits the batters' finger, and Montgomery was assuming a HBP, but it was rules a foul, and manager is ejected. The batter is out with some pain on his finger and Letson strikes the pinch hitter out. Then it's Gregory Barrios up, weird seeing him and Areinamo on the opposition line up. Letson through 4 IP, 3 H, 1 BB and 5K so far in this game.

Made went to get to the hit up the middle and his momentum carried him toward 2nd base and his thigh collided with the side of Vargas leg. He walked off easily on his own, and likely precautionary due to the DH. He looked ok but probably a little sore on his leg. Fingers crossed here.

Maybe he knew it would be a rain out - and didn’t give it his best. Just kidding of course. Smith is a challenging prospect. As he has stuff, and he has stints where he puts it all together and looked that way at the beginning of the season if I remember correctly. But then he hits a rough spot. And every pitcher in Appleton is in a rough patch now. Midwest league juiced balls.

If a GI bug, then yes. Since you can lose weight and risk dehydration. If this was 20-30 years ago they are playing. Nowadays, why push it, just give them the time to come back at 100%. Or it’s a flu thing and the fatigue/muscle aches etc can be limiting too. Hope he comes back fine.

Agree. Arm is limitation, @Spencer Michaelis - how would you rate his range, as that seems to be another limitation, thoughts? I thought he looked fine at 2B, but not sure he has that same range that you need on the left side of the IF, especially with a limited arm. His speed plays on the OF and I imagine he could be CF, but his profile is limited if he is LF.

And down to 2 outs. Ghost runner on second. Ibarguen singles to tie it. He takes second on the throw. Very next pitch DiTuri brings him home for a walk off extras win in Wilson!! its up to the T-Rats to keep the affiliated ball all in the W column (and biloxi if the game resumes).

And Nashville holds on for the 2-1 win. Comeback with 2 out in the 9th. Biloxi in rain delay. Wilson tied 2-2. And TRats still down 6-5

In Quad Cities - the TRats are all about the HR. Down 6-2, then a Bitonti bomb and the deficit is only one, down 6-5. Payne, Fischer and Bitonti with HRs

Yoho, and Childers and now Wagoner as possibly future late inning relievers - that is so key to keep developing bullpens. As we have seen the market in FA for late inning relievers is crazy, but every team needs about 2-3 guys who could "close" (currently we have Megill/Uribe). So the Brew Crew need to develop about a solid reliever to promote to the bigs every year or 2 to make that work. Any hey you never know, Yerlin could truly find some command and control and that would be another hard throwing future reliever. -
ok, fair, but the analogy of he needs to hit to force himself into a position. And Black was a pretty good hitter, his hit tool flattened out as he advanced and as he got older. Josh A has the potential to have elite hit tools, but is doing very well at high A, and when he moves up will need to continue to do the same.

Yes he can hit very well. I am not sure I would call him "underrated by everyone on here" as he has a lot of fans here. But his lack of positional home really limits him. He could be 2B, but as an OF he will need to play well or wind up like a Tyler Black. His swing is sweet and he is a natural hitter, but his defense and so far true "power" limits him. Plus this organization has a lot of very good prospects (Made, Pena, Fischer Dinges) or solid prospects at higher levels (Lara along with Pratt and Williams), that Adamczewski is right there in the top 10 mostly in a system with 5-7 top 100 prospects.

O'Rae is a very intriguing prospect, he is a bit like Luis Lara "light", in that I don't know that he is an elite defender but is versatile (could play 2B and OF), and his hit tool and speed are the calling cards. I am not sure he will generate much more power, and that will limit him. He does have a solid UT/OF/PH/PR super sub type of player here, and that is always a valuable player. I think like Erik Sogard/Jace Peterson who could have some productive seasons but more as a bench role.

It is a testament to the depth we all know that despite Chourio, then Miz, now Henderson all graduating, and several others dropping down (Black 1-2 years ago; and Quero last year), the team seems to keep 5-7 in the top 100. That is the formula to allow your team to restock when losing money talent, and also when not every prospect pans out as expected ( Wilken, CR Rodriguez ) or is traded (Y. Rodriguez) or injuries ( Quero or now Pena). And there are a ton of 18-22 year old pitchers who all we need a few of the dozen or so to pan out which would be phenomenal.
