  1. This feels like the top 3. I hope Quintana's injury is not very serious that he could be back by NLDS, and maybe some down time will help him. I still feel Miz is best suited as a reliver, sort of Woody/Burnes in '18, as I do worry that he is getting hit too hard recently by teams who have seen him, and he still has some inconsistencies from start to start. Logan Henderson, Robert Gasser and Chad Patrick all fit into the potential #4 starter if Quintana can't go.
  2. Even if unintentional (and I'm not picking on you Jim, just going with the poor attempt at humor), but it worked. Another 2-0 day. 😁
  3. I see what you did there Mass with the title … yesterday was so good with a 2-0 record you decided let’s replay 9/13 again. I say “good call”. 😉
  4. Yeah I almost cancelled my subscription for that. But a couple of other teams I follow (notably Penguins in NHL) have good coverage as does international soccer. But yeah the Brewers have been an after thought, and he covers the Mets I mean the Mets 🙄😂
  5. I will have to go back and read that. Wow blast from the (not that distant) past. Great find Jim. It’s always interesting to see who stands out from the IFA classes. As while the ‘24 group was special, most years are more like the ‘22 group - who I compared this years group to. So figure 3-4 players will have some impact and that could also be in another organization. And pitching is almost impossible to predict for these guys until they at least get to low A. And Blake Burke. He has been hitting all season, and nice to see the power, especially away from Keesler Park (its full name is Keesler Federal Park I had to look it up to double check). [side note: Apparently Biloxi while not being good for hitting, has one of the higher HR rates in AA. I guess the winds from the coast but I thought that was more right to left?] Either way he has found the power and the average. He will need to continue to do that moving forward to get up as the future 1B/DH of the brewers someday. But promising first full season for him.
  6. What’s this? Luis Lara hits a homer (his 2nd of the year) ‘And Wilken singles (his 25th single to 35 XBH this year) It’s 6-6. But Broca on and gives up a lead off single, then a PB by Miller. Yikes
  7. And his replacement hits a 3-run HR. It’s now 6-5 thanks to Darrien Miller.
  8. Will this thread get you double digit replies??? Biloxi had a solid start in the 1st with a Burke solo HR. But so did Birmingham with a 3-run HR in a 4 run inning. They trail 6-2 now trying to narrow the deficit here in the 5th. DeBerry with 4 IP but 6 runs on 7 hits allowed, 2 K and 1 BB and 1 HBP. Sounds are tied 3-3 after 6 complete
  9. First off, I think Dinges, Adams and Adamczewski will have a chance to show why we hold them in such high regard, but there are several high end prospects who could be AFL MVPs, but I love the enthusiasm. Same with MiLB pages among others. Unless drafted, it's hard to find out "how acquired" - as signings can be minor league free agent (due to being released or earning minor league FA), "regular" free agent (like indy ball), and UDFA/NDFA.
  10. Both Dinges and Fischer will be interesting- likely in AA since that the Brewers M. O. But a short stint in high A to have them really start in a comfortable offensive environment while getting a few more defensive innings and reps would be reasonable. But I do agree those 2 likely end up in AA.
  11. So Letson starts out well but has a rough inning. ‘Cornielle struggles at first but has a respectable outing but Gasser loses the lead?!? Pratt is injured on a HBP? 🤔😩😥 At least we have Made in AA. ugh. On a day when the Brewers have tested my faith with a disastrous 3 game sweep, I really needed a feel good night in the minors. Thanks again for the updates @Joseph Zarr at least I got to feel the pain in semi-real time 😉
  12. I hear you. And those injuries are weird and not “injury prone “ type of things and he is not bad, but shows what the others have done. ‘BUT. You have to play and do so consistently. And his late April through mid June was phenomenal- I mean he was lapping the field in HRs, so much so that he still leads 😳. But compared to the full season and consistent hitting from Burke (he had a slump prior to his promotion which I guess is the way to do it right Jesus?), and the start Fischer has, the message is clear to the Wilken/Bitonti duo from ‘23, as ‘24 Burke and ‘25 Fischer are ready to try to be the corner infield duo of the future. Again it’s great to have this depth. If Wilken is for real great, if not then hopefully Fischer will be, or Ebel or even Adams.
  13. Watching Wilken has me wonder if he May and early June was a fluke. Outside of late April through his injury in June, he has had a lot of not very good streaks at the plate. Watching Burke and Fischer have be believing that Wilken has been lapped.
  14. Burke he loves the Southern League. 9 HR now. 3 run shot to get him to 30 RBIs in Top of the 9th. Made with an infield single on a ball that got 10 ft in front of home. The Pratt Walk..
  15. So Patrick will be the spot starter tonight (makes most sense rather than a pure bullpen game since Chad could give innings if he pitches well). Hoskins returned to the Brewers as expected, now the battle for playing time between he and Vaughn. But with Yelich down that leaves a DH spot for Contreras/Bauers/Hoskins/Vaughn to compete for in addition to the 1B and C duties. Siegler will not get playing time again in Nashville, probably both at 3B and C. But Cornielle - whoa. That's surprising. I guess it is a let's see if you want to sign as a minor league FA, or become worthy of a 40 man spot??
  16. Letson - probably the only way to get him some game innings. It is interesting, as I had him on the border of repeating high A vs AA next year given the injury, his age. But this seems like he will get another start or two in AA, likely not go to the AFL as result (my guess only) and then hopefully healthy and ready to hit AA next year.
  17. Shuckers close it out and win a 4-1 game. Burke accounting for all 4 runs with his grand slam. So that is a 3-1 day for the affiliates, and the Carolina Mudcats end their franchise run on a winning note, even if it was the not the storybook ending we all craved. Nashville won in extras. And the T-Rats lose again (with the talent there they should have really dominated the last 2-3 weeks but alas). Anyway this was the last 4 team scoreboard in MiLB for the 2025 season, next April will be the next time we see this many teams in the Link Report
  18. Biloxi two on, and Pratt draws a walk to walk the bases. Then on a 1-1 pitch, Southern Man Mr. Blake Burke hits a 412 foot home run to deep right, 106 mph off the bat, for a Grand Slam. Woo Hoo!!
  19. Obviously injuries (and trades) will play a huge part in this prediction. But my first attempt would look something like this: AAA: CF. Rodriguez, Kuehner, Crow, Hunt. Possibly Wichrowski and Hardin. And Cornielle if he re-signs as a minor league FA. Of course a MLB ready pitcher (Patrick, Myers, Henderson) could start here based upon the big league pitching staff. AA: DeBerry, Birchard, JD Thompson, M. Rodriguez fee like likely core starters here. Then either Wichrowski or Hardin if they repeat. Tanner Gillis, Travis Smith, and Will Rudy are possibilities too. A+ (Wisconson): T. Smith, Sam Garcia, Letson, Meccage, M. Hernandez, Jacob Morrison and Andrew Healy could start at low A and bump up, or start here. Potentially Wande Torres and any one of the arms that I have at WIlson below. Also factor in that Josh Knoth, Yorman Galindez and Jason Woodward are all injured and if healthy could see time at high A. Chandler Welch could be here as a reliever along with B. Rivera and I guess Bjorn Johnson whose development I still don't get. A (Wilson): likely may see repeats of several of the late season debuts, so I assume Dubanewicz, Dorchies, Renz, Mercado, Mercedes. Injuries/Rehab will dictate what we see from Hostetler, Tobias, H. Robinson, Broughton, E. Cortez and D. Corniel. I would also expect that Cairone and maybe Josh Flores will be in the mix with Carlos Carra. Any of the NDFA or college arms (Health, Morrison, Owens, Episcope) could be here as starters or relievers. ACL: Cairone/Flores/Carra may debut here. In addition I suspect that likely several of the HS drafted pitchers (Vucinovich, Roupe, Bentley, Holden) along with possible DSL pitchers (Mayorquin, Galindo, Colmeranez, Pena). This will be the hardest to predict.
  20. Season ends not with a thud. But a loud crushing door slamming shut. . From the relentless Cardiac Cats of April to this. Sad end to the Mudcats. Yes two more games left but that is now it for the franchise. Zebulon you deserved better and it was so close. But that door is closed. They were always entertaining even if for wrong reasons recently.
  21. And a a walk off grand slams ends the Mudcats playoff chase. 😩😔😥
  22. Shuckers get a walk to get two, runners on. But Warren Ks. Still down 5-0. But at least they have a hit and a walk right?
  23. TRats win. Big. 9-2. Fischer with 2 hits. Nicasia stays hot with 3 hits. But Made with 3 throwing errors. - will need some video of those to see what/how.
  24. And Blake Burke obliges. Because it’s the southern league and he is the southern man. Single. No hitter over. Time to work on getting some runs.
  25. Well most won’t know this unless they careful time stamp. it was top of 6 (Biloxi is home team)when I wrote this. So it was no hit thru 5. But sadly the team would not force me to correct it as they are now no hit thru 6. And perfect game against is still intact. Maybe the 3rd time thru the order will yield something.
