  1. Shuckers manufacture a run. Double on a defensive swing down first base line by Vargas (who was hugged by former teammate Areinamo). Then he takes off and a grounder to second is out 1, but Vargas to third Then a fly ball, and Vargas scores. Boeve pops out to end the inning. 1 hit = 1 run. Shuckers seemingly playing the past week or two like the ‘24 Biloxi team.
  2. No comeback for the Muddies. Only 3 hits. Dorchies big hiccup 5-run 2nd inning, but he went 5 innings still and 8 K. A lot to work with there. Let’s hope he can stay healthy and make big step forward next season. Mudcats lose 6-2.
  3. An error and a hit. Then a soft grounder. And a passed ball and Montgomery scores a run against Wichrowski. Shuckers bats still so so quiet. 😞
  4. Yeah Bitonti has been lost at the plate for 2 months now. After a great June where he looked like the prospect we dream on, he has been struggling mightily and striking out a ton. Big holes in that swing, and hoping Brenton DelChiaro can help him close some of those holes this offseason. The power potential is real, but you have to make contact first before you can hit with power, otherwise you are a fan (both figuratively and literally get it 😉)
  5. Ugh. Oh no I was excited with the first inning report, and now it sounds like a blow out against Carolina. Yikes With the way the day is going, I may not have it in me to watch the minors tonight. I guess I'm ready for August to be over - minors have had ups and down, and the big club has gone elation to frustration again.
  6. Only difference is Mitchell actually performed quite well when he was healthy. Outside of that end of '23 and amazing start to '24 Boeve has not had very much production. Hopefully he recovers well and gets back to the early '24 form. This is why you draft/sign for depth. You need 3-4 prospects at a position to get one who will fulfill that role.
  7. And Lara just missed a double (or triple given his speed) as the grounder is like an inch off 3rd base line. The next pitch he hits right at Gregory Barrios who tosses to Areinamo and he throws to first to get the fast Lara. End of inning. Dang it. TRats down 9-4 heading to bottom of 9. Shuckers squander some great chances in extras. And Brewers lose a 1-run game (they still play the bad teams poorly this year, I mean they win but just not enough). Rough evening with the Mudcats win the sole highlight so far.
  8. And the rails appear to be coming off in Wisconsin as it’s 8-4 Quad Cities with some infield hits and a force out and an error. I suspect some challenging defense by the TRats. Will try to watch that inning later - or wait for someone else to put some context to this inning. Was it defense, or all on Rund?
  9. Wilken a fifth strike out. Yikes. It’s 2024 Brock Wilken tonight. 😞
  10. Another K. On to the 11th Meanwhile in Wisconsin its bases loaded and only 1 out with bases full of River Bandits on the top of 9. Uh oh
  11. Infield in and Pratt leaps but only knocks it down. And the runner at third scores. 2-2 tie again. The runner is on due to throwing error by Pratt. Dang only one out and winning runner on base. The lack of extra insurance runs in the top of 10 will haunt them now. OK a K and it’s 2 outs. Let’s keep it tied please
  12. Shuckers with back to back singles in the top of 10, and it’s 2-1. But a sac bunt, the pop up to catcher and a fly out to right and a two-on-no-out scenario yields no more runs😡
  13. Bonus innings in Montgomery. Biscuits Shuckers still tied 1-1. Robert’s goes 1-2-3in the 9th (strikes out Brayden Taylor who is also 0-4 with 3K to mirror the pick after him in Wilken who is 0-4 with 4K).
  14. TRats and River Bandits are tied still 4-4 Shuckers trying to force extras here as it’s 1-1 with Austin Roberts pitching.
  15. It’s Made / Fischer as the offense for T-Rats tonight. But that’s ok as Fischer drives in Diaz to knot it up. But in Montgomery - Wilken ends the Biloxi threat with a K. 0-4 with all 4 Ks tonight. Good to see Brock back in action, but oh boy.
  16. Fowler blows it by him. And hang on for a 7-5 victory. First save for Fowler. Nice win. And technically in first place right now pending the F-Nats game. Meanwhile Pratt sac fly gets the Shuckers on the board. 1-1 game.
  17. Ebel makes a nice fielding play at SS to get the first out. Unfortunately two hits to start the inning has allowed Shorebirds to close it to 7-5. Fowler on to try to close it out. Reportedly hit 96 mph on his fastball. And he has a slow breaking ball. Gets a pop up for out #2 B. Tavera up - one of the Shorebirds better hitters.
  18. Welp Ebel, caught stealing. And Bitonti called out looking. Just looks lost at the plate tonight. Granted that last called strike 3 was a questionable call, but Eric just hasn’t improved much this year. When he gets on heaters he will hit his HR. But far too much of nothing in between.
  19. Ebel with his 3rd hit of the game. Nice night for this kid.
  20. And Alcantara with a throwing error lets a run in and it’s 1-0 Biscuits. Shuckers offense still AWOL
  21. Walther Ks. New pitcher and Payne flies out to left. No additional insurance runs. 7-4. Looks like TRats lose the lead. Appears Gillis went a couple batters too many, but Seppings struggled and it’s 4-3 River Bandits.
  22. Getting the band back together - getting Adams and Wilken back, and seeing Letson and Hardin pitching again, most of the early season stand outs are back. Now if Crow can get healthy, and keep Payne/Adamczewski/Dinges on the field and I’m getting excited.
  23. Lameda with a single, he is 2-4 nice night for Luis. Two runners on (Anderson had walked). A bloop hit that just fell, and Holguin gets a hit, and close play at third but Anderson is just safe. Phew. Bases juiced and only 1 out, Walther up.
  24. Wow Shuckers bats are looking like vintage 2024 Shuckers… and that is not good. 10Ks (3 for Wilken who is 0-3). And only 1 hit (and 3BB) through 6 innings. 😳 yikes
  25. Whoops forgot to factor in the extra run. It’s 7-4 Mudcats
