  1. Biloxi has Boeve lead off with a fly out and CRod tags, and makes it to 3rd with a bad throw by the CF. THen a WP, and Biloxi is up 4-3. And now Wilken earns a walk. C'mon Shuckers!
  2. Sam Carlson comes in with a 2 on, 2 out scenario and gets a high flyout to RF. On to extras, with Shuckers up with CRod on 2nd, and Boeve up. Let's go Shuckers. Please.
  3. Bottom of the 9th. Seminaris stays in. First batter singles. Then bunt and almost miscue by Seminaris who threw too high, but still got the runner. Simpson (the speed demon) is on now. Winning run for the other team on 2nd base.
  4. And it was Campbell, not EMJr who walked. 2 outs, A walk by Murray, and it's 2 on, 2 out and C. Rod is up. But pops it up. and 3-3 on to the bottom of the 9th. Sounds need a rally, Now. Roller 1st out. Zamora up.
  5. Woessner keeps it a 1 run game. Last cahnce for the Sounds. In Montgomery, it's still 3-3. EMJ walks, and 1 out.
  6. And that missed opportunity come back to haunt them. Biloxi concedes a run and it's now 3-3. I had to turn off for an inning or two, so not sure how. But Bottom 8, Seminaris still in, and an error by Wilken and it's a man on with 2 outs. Apparently it was an inside the park home run in the 7th by Simpson (the same guy who messed up Shane Smith's inning yesterday or the day before).
  7. And an Anferny Reyes sighting in Charleston. And 4 straight balls. Ball 1 and then a HBP. Not a great start to his low A debut. :(
  8. And a strikeout, pop out and ground out and Murray, CRod and Boeve strand the runners. OK I will stop posting good things about Biloxi. (Shakes his head in shame)
  9. T-Rats need to start the rally now. Separately - In Montgomery: A bloop hit by Warren, and Biloxi now lead 3-2, and runner on the corners. Murray up with no outs.
  10. I am watching it live. Gameday is frozen. It's top of 7, EMJ walked, and Campbell up. Still 2-2
  11. Sounds get a run and Wisconsin too. Yay! Make it 2 for the Sounds. Now make that 3!! It's only 5-3. Biloxi - Childers get 5 in a row, then can't get an out - 3 straight singles, and Seminaris is in to try to keep it tied. Ugh C'mon Shuckers. Whew. Deep fly ball out to keep it loaded. On to the 7th in Montgomery.
  12. Here's a first - Biloxi outhitting and outscoring Nashville/Wisconsin combined tonight (Nash 0 R, 3 H; Wisconsin with the very Biloxi OR and only 1 H). Mudcats up, and trying to not blow the big lead, still up 6-2. Yophery walks and gets picked off ;( Pratt on with an error.
  13. C.D. Rodriguez with a triple, and Biloxi has life, down 2-1. Boeve up and Ks looking. Wilken a fly ball to center (not too deep, he needs to hit it harder than that), but enough to score the speedy Rodriguez. Now tied 2-2, and Miller up.
  14. Gameday frozen for Biloxi. But Wichrowski gives up a hit in the 4th, then a "hit?" (error by EBJ, ugh) and men on the corners. So instead of 2 down from a GIDP, it was 2 on. Wichrowski gets a ground out (should have been out 3), for the first out and a runs scores. Then a couple more outs, and it's only 2-0 Childers 1-2-3 5th inning.
  15. Watched Shane Smith performance tonight. Cruising through the first 3. In the 4th a slap base hit and Simpson is on which messes with Smith. He steals a base. Big K, but then seems to lose command. Either the base runner messed up his timing, or the long inning and pitch count lost his effectiveness (fatigue; focus?). He struggled. But was still hitting 94 on a couple in that inning according to the announcer. Just starting to lose fastball and off speed stuff in terms of location. None of the hits were major contact though.
  16. But Biloxi reminds me of the ‘22 brewers. If the starter does not have a shutout the team has no chance. And that puts a lot of pressure on the pitcher. Smith looks like he’s hitting some struggles in the 4th - 3 hits and 2 walks and it’s 3-0 Montgomery with Sam Carlson in. 3-0 is a huge huge hole for this offense.
  17. Re: the trades. I was starting to do a write up like this of the 2017 era on. When the brewers accelerated the rebuild by being competitive in 2017 a year or two ahead of the plan. I am traveling now, but off the top of my head, Grisham for Urias/Lauer was a bad trade because of the years Grisham has had since 2020. Lauer had an amazing season split over 2 seasons, and Urias had a great 2021 - and yet to see if Blalock becomes anything. Close but a loss. Kelly for Bush was a disaster, and Kelly has not made a MLB debut so time will tell, but Bush was such a negative. Same for Peters for Rosenthal, who amounted to nothing and Peters is hitting. Fry and Olson were just big time misses. Those will happen, and Adames was a win. But the Tellez trade was a wash. Re: Yelich extension. His extension looming in 2022 may have hampered deals in 2021 to get the team some offensive help in ‘21 and ‘22. His rebound last year and hopefully this year make it easier to take. But that looming contract with down years did hurt the chances of playoff success in ‘21, and along with the Hader trade helped submarine the ‘22 season in my opinion.
  18. TRats still down 1. 9th inning. Wood with a hit and Barrios pinch running gets a steal. One hit could tie this up.
  19. Meanwhile, TRats do get some base runners in the 8th (sorry I mistakenly wrote 9th earlier I thought it was the 9th) and get 3 runs. 5-4 now. Keep I close and let’s see if they can walk it off tonight as well …..
  20. Cardiac Cats are trying Hope and they did walk it off! 13-12. Garcia base loaded hit and 2 runs score How sweep it is :)
  21. Wisconsin had a promising start, HR by Areinamo in the first. But then nothing. No hits. No runs. No nothings since. And now down 5-1 in the 9th.
  22. The answer is yes. Clarke with a tidy 4IP, 4H, 4K, 0BB and 64 pitches. McKendry is in in relief, and Sounds up 7-0 after 6. (Looks like Black with a GS in the 4th)
  23. Henderson had very good control of the at bats I watched. His FB seemed to hit 93/94. I didn’t see him above that, but may have missed it. Knoth was composed in the couple of innings I watched. Maybe overthrowing at times and losing location. He did get a few hard hits and a few hard outs. Ashby was much more in control. Very few ABs where he was lost. Command is not always great, and hasn’t always been, but when he locates and control enough you get those awkward swings. And I saw a few of those last night. His velocity was 92-93 mostly I believe but may have gotten myself confused watching these three young men’s performances. Overall solid outing by the pitching.
  24. Awesome review. I keep getting amazed at what goes into the pitch selection and how these details make or break a pitcher’s success. Also cutter seems to be a Brewers organization focus, or are other teams using it a lot more as well. I appears that a philosophy of the organization is a competent off speed (slider, CB or change up), good FB with movement and add a cutter (or something else that I’m not smart enough to understand). Then analytics to maximize the usage. For a fan of the Brewers starting in the late 80s, seeing the late 90s and earl 00s teams struggle to get competitive pitching (Sheets and Gallardo as the main exceptions), the past 5-10 years has been encouraging.
  25. Great news for both. Congratulations to these two young men. It now means that 4 of the 2023 draft picks are in AA (Wilken, Boeve, Wichrowski, Yoho). That’s impressive less than 1 year from being drafted. 1 or 2 is nice, but 4 is impressive.
