  1. Nice to hear on Pratt i got to this forum late and not I’m not watching live tonight just Gameday updates.
  2. Yessir. 2 runs in. Nice hitting Baez. Diaz pops out to end it. But Cats up 9-8
  3. Pratt with 4 walks!! Incredible. Baez ready to drive in some runs
  4. No go for Yo. But Pratt is at bat Let’s go ‘Cats
  5. Maldonado is struggling. He and Polancic - when I see them enter it’s just a sixth sense as “I see runs scoring” sadly. Root - nice to hear he is touching high 90s. i always have to look at his name again. We drafted a Jaden Noot a 6’ 3” HS RHP in the ‘22 draft (same draft as Maldonado) but didn’t sign him. But we did sign RHP Bayden Root - an 6’ 3” UDFA out of college though, I believe last year or in ‘22?? Seems like it fills some odd quota 😂
  6. Back to the pitching lab. Take the innings he has had this year and try to figure out what works, and hone it.
  7. Amen. Get Yoho up. Hunt to high A. Let the Smith brothers roll in Biloxi 😃
  8. Ok. I’ve watched only a couple of games and several highlights - so with that disclaimer I thought he looked effectively wild. Will overmatch young hitters. I am likely to be wrong- that’s why I spend most evenings here (since I rediscovered bf.net) to see highlights, watch games or gameday/box score updates and hear from you all. This is the most excited I’ve been about the minors since 2001-2005 years.
  9. Agree on Yoho. From what little I watched of Manfredi I like his delivery and his stuff looks solid. Hunt is interesting his stuff looks nasty too but control could be his issue maybe why he’s still at low A?
  10. Tayden Hall first high A ball hit. 😀 And @Joseph Zarr - agree on relievers, Yoho and Hunt are tops on my radar. With Manfredi next (starter vs reliever) but nice to see Kuener and Austin do well. plus Wichrowski who I don’t put in that group due to younger age and the fact he’s at AA already. Imagine if Yoho or Manfredi move up to AA. 3-5 of 2023 picks at AA or higher by seasons end.
  11. Turang is interesting case. Murphy was very high on him and he came out the gates firing. Now I don’t expect him to ops over .800. But even .700 with a .260-.280 BA with his defense and speed will be a solid 2B and #7-9 hitter on most clubs. Good value, but such young age and the hope he can average offensively with club control for ? 4-5 more years makes him much less expendable in the system the Brewer use to construct the roster. I don’t think Perkins fetches as much given his age - teams will value 25-and-under since the peak years are usually ages 24-29 for most players. His defense makes him an awesome 4-5 OF and if he has sustained offense then that’s a plus. If you get a good return for him sure, but I doubt a team values him that much. Peguero has value and could be traded if we are not in a division title hunt. Bullpen is Ok with Williams (assuming he is not traded next) and Megill/Hudson/Payamps. There are several arms who could replace him in the next few years. Not immediately this year or next but potential is there to replace a BP arm if trade needs to happen to get a SP or maybe a OF or corner IF bat.
  12. The older college pitchers from last year are doing nicely. Manfredi, Austin, Kuener, Yoho, and I throw Hunt in that mix as a UDFA. Now they are all definitely older for the league they are in, but they are first year professional nonetheless. I hope they develop and rise up the system, this would be a fun group to see succeed together in the big leagues someday/
  13. And giving up Avina who is playing nicely in high A. Not saying he will amount to more but could have traded higher on a guy like him who came on in the second half. They also gave up on a 18 yo Venezuelan OF who is nothing more than a lottery ticket. But a 20-30 ranked prospect, and a lottery ticket should get you more than a back up 1B who is a LHH off the bench. This is one of the few probable losing trades the team has made. (Trade Losses - the subject of A post I will put up sometime in the near future )
  14. Nice to see a solid outing from Smith. He was a great story and I loved watching Seth’s interview with him Shane just loves baseball and he seems like a good guy to root for.
  15. Biloxi - nice to see Brown, Boeve, Wilken, Clarke and Miller at 1-5. I can only hope this wakes up that offense. The past 2 weeks have been ... challenging for the offense.
  16. With Lara, O'Rae you get a lot of on base (walks, some hits, and HBP with O'Rae), and Barrios hitting. Speed on the base paths too. The club can score some runs without ever hitting the ball out of the infield.
  17. I know I can look back at other reports, but what is his arsenal? I know he is really young, and hasn't fully developed, so the fastball is not super high. Like 89-92, did I remember reading that? No matter what. An 18 yo having a good start to low A when most 18 years old are finishing out HS seasons in the hopes of getting drafted, showing up for possible complex league or low A next year. Very impressive so far from this young man.
  18. Interestingly no mention of why his was removed Saturday, and not in the line up Sunday. Hopefully nothing serious. He has been hitting well, would like to see him develop into a reserve OF in the bigs.
  19. Offense has gone to sleep this week. Other than Willy and William not much hitting. Turang has cooled, Frelick looks lost at times, and Hoskins has the power, but not getting enough hits - still a timing thing, or will he be someone we hope opts out?? With the pitching no longer being the backbone (like 2020-2023 Brewers) the offense needs to be above average (2018-2019 era) in order for the team to contend for playoffs. The offense has looked mostly lost this week and last week too.
  20. Hey there's the positive in the otherwise gloomy Sunday. Brewers losses really seem to get me down, especially when it's against division rivals, and like 10x more against the dang Cubs and there manager, whatever his name is. I hope EBJ and Wilken can get the Shuckers going. Or my typo above will be more relevant ... Biloxi Suckers. Some decent pitching the past 2 days, but still ineffective with pitch counts for Misio, CF Rod, Gasser. But I'll take that over alternatives any day (injury, poor outings).
  21. Well I guess the organization is consistent today. High pitch counts, and very little offense going. Milwaukee 0 runs, Biloxi 0 run (only 1 hit), and TRats 6 hits (2 runs and 2 hits in the first, then 1 R and 4H the next 8 innings). ‘Peralta, Misiorowski and Gasser all with high pitch counts - walks and strikeouts. Cubs in first place. Just a bummer of a weekend.
  22. Suckers bats remain way way too quiet - only 1 hit, a double by D. Miller (on base all three trip, H, 2BB). Still 0-0 Gasser gave up a HR and labored thru 2, 44 pitches with 2BB, 3H and 4K. Sounds down 2-1 looking to get something going in the bottom of 3. Wisconsin trying to,stay tied 3-3. Costello on. Double, caught stealing, walk, stolen base, and now a hit. Down 4-3. First run Costello allowed on the young season.
  23. Misiorowski now thru 5. still 0–0. He’s at 87 pitches. I expect his day is done. 8K, 4BB and only 2H. Very nice. Need the bats to come alive for the Shuckers. Wisconsin 3-3. A pitching change to get thru 6. And Gasser labored thru the first inning. 25 pitches, 2H, 1Bb, 1k, 1run.
  24. Biloxi had bases loaded with only 1 out. GIDP by Dirden. on to the bottom of the 4th. 0-0 in Appleton, Jimenez pitching well. 2-0 TRats.
  25. Any word on Carlos D Rodriguez exit from the game tonight??
