  1. Mogollon. No control. Bases juiced, Carolina trying to hold on for the lead. Last batter HBP in the head. Mogollon doesn't seem to know where his stuff is going. Oh my.
  2. FIlthy. Yoho 6 up and 6 down. Saves the 2-0 win. What a pitching performance by Cornielle (7IP) and Yoho (2IP)
  3. Yoho was great in the 8th, helped by a DP ball. And the strike out my gosh the batter looked lost. Nothing in the top of the 9th (Dotson picked off first after PRing for Chiniros). Yoho to close it out?
  4. Hey hey hey Carolina also heeds my calls for hits. Nice job getting back in the lead. In Wisconsin it's Yoho time. Let's hope he continues his hot streak (please don't let me jinx him)
  5. Inning ending DP for Cornielle. 7 IP shutout innigns, 2 H, 3 BB and 6 K! That is a heckuva start for this young man.
  6. Vargas double, Fernandez double. Now 2-0 TRats. Finally, answering my call for hits
  7. Well, nope. Bo Bowman comes on. I guess a success for Misio? 4 solids innings, but too many pitches as his control escapes him in the 4th. Cornielle looking sharp during 6 shutout IP. :)
  8. Wisconsin and Carolina still offensively challenged. 5 H for both teams combined, although thru 10 innings combined. Last night both teams had 5 H in the 2 games total. Wisconsin has really struggled offensively overall the past couple of weeks.
  9. Misiorowski gifts a run. Walk, single, HBP, force out at home, walk. But ends the inning before more can happen. 78 pitches through 4, that was a 29 pitch inning. We will see if goes out for the 5th, and how much longer.
  10. Starting to wonder if the tacked ball last year really helped Rodriguez. His AA start was solid maybe aided by the tack ball, then he developed and improved. And this year he is going through the normal adjustments? Either way encouraging to see him get two solid starts in a row. Wichrowski had a great bounce back. He’s got a tiny bit of helium in his stock. Fingers crossed on him. Carolina and Wisconsin with what 5 hits between them. Oof. Biloxi passed the offensive struggles (which they had for a few weeks) on to A ball clubs last night. Both A ball clubs are too talented to have too many of those nights. But also so young, and therefore inconsistency is expected. Carolina has been boom or bust this week, Wisconsin, on the other hand, has had only two really string offensive games in the past week or two. I think Mike Boeve really powered that line up. Now it is up to Lara, G. Barrios, O’Rae, Adams to take control of the offense. They can do it but I have to remember that all of those guys are 20 (or younger as Lara is still just 19!) in high A and they are routinely facing 21-23 year olds most nights.
  11. Benge is interesting if he is there. Two way player?? Has to be some thought of it. And comp pick or 2nd round - Cijntje - switch handed pitcher? He was a Brewers pick out of HS but did not sign. Another interesting consideration. But I do agree. The team M. O. Is to pick best college bat (or one of the top bats) and spread the bonus money around the top 5-6 picks.
  12. Enniel Cortez, 18 yo (on 5/1), tonight with 2.1 IP, 0H, 1bB, 3K. That’s 4.1 IP, 6K, 1H, 1BB for the young Nicaraguan on the very young ACL season. Only DiTurri hitting much.
  13. Gardner closes it out. Works around a hard hit triple (nearly a homer Sparks may have saved the homer), then a very questionable walk (looked like strike 3, but Miller did not get the call behind the plate). Pitchers looked great: Wichrowski 5 IP, 4 H, 1ER, 3BB, 1K Carlson and Gardner, both Sams, get the final 12 outs with only 1ER. Wilken 2-5, Clarke 3-4
  14. TRats go down quietly. Only a Chirinos walk (his 3rd of the game). 7-3 Loss. Shuckers going to the top of the 9th with a 10-2 lead. Gardner out to try to close it out.
  15. A couple of double for the Bandits extends the lead - first double was sinking drive to CF, and Lara tried but couldn't get it and knocked it down to prevent a 3B/HR. Down to the last few hitters. Let's see if Wisconsin can get some hits, or will go quietly like their A ball partners. Areinamo Wood Chirinos
  16. Simple pop up to 1st base. Rally ended. Still 3-6, TRats down. They had the right guys up and did make some noise. But not enough hits tonight.
  17. Lara walks, Barrios base hit. O'Rae deep to left, but just not enough strength, and warning track fly. 2 down. So close. C'mon TRats. Lets go... Adams up
  18. Wisconsin has the right guys up in the 8th .... Dotson, then back to the top with Lara (who hasn't been hitless since May) but is hitless tonight, then Barrios also hitless tongiht.
  19. EV 105 for Wilken. Confirmed homer. Clarke with a HR 10-1!!! Wow, When Biloxi gets H, they are the Shuckers. When the bats go silent they are just Suckers.
  20. IN Biloxi walks, stolen bases, and a funky hit by Warren, and Shuckers up 5-1. Boeve walks to load the bases. Meanwhile in Wisconsin and Carolin only 2 hits each. Carolina loses 6-0. Wisconsin down 6-3
  21. Letson another homer. He went 60 pitches. STruck out 6 in 3 IP. BUt 2 HR leading to 4 runs. Looked good, but caught too much of the plate on a few offerings.
  22. Yeah Rodriguez with 2 solid May outings. Fingers crossed that he is now adjusting to AAA. And Letson continues to rebound from his first 2 batters tonight. Vargas with a HR, but bats overall pretty quiet.
  23. The offense tonight is mostly non-existent throughout the minors. 9 hits across 20 innings so far. Yikes Pitching OK. Herrera settled in it appears, and Wichrowski has had a rebound from his first start (so far). Knoth decent, and Letson did bounce back from the single, HR to start his outing to end the 5th with 2Ks.
  24. Carson Benge, Cam Smith could be there as well. Vance Honeycutt is a toolsy player but his hit tool is being questioned from what I have read. They usually don't take pitchers in classical Round 1, meaning non-competitive balance/non-comp pick (Ethan Small was the last one, and prior to that it was 2014 when they took Kodi Medeiros).
